There are many different ways they could get togther but the burning question is how.In every book they always have a least 10 minutes alone with each other. The kiss. The hug. The way that they make each other feel comfortable. The way that H/Hr scratched her face off when ever Harry is in trouble. So it is so obvious that they are a young Lily and James Potter. So they will end up with each other. So post up your opionions.

I think something terrible will happen this will bring them closer together. I hope it isn't Ron dying though.

It may seem sad, but I think that if they do get together,it would probably be because of a tragedy, maybe the death of a loved one. They would figure; why waste time.

I guess the "Something terrible will be happening" is very likely, but maybe they just start to realize it after having made one step after the next (You know, it is always "Twelve Steps to Success" or something like that ... ) and maybe there will be another Ball and slow music and ... yeah, the usual fanfictional things.

This is my theory...

Hermione and Ron go out ::shudder:: for a while. During this time, Harry realizes that he is in love with Hermione, too. But... he's a good guy, so he cant do anything about it. But... Hermione and Ron bicker too much, and just come to the conclusion that they make better pals than lovers. This leaves Harry free to confess his fellings for Hermione, and Hermione to admit that she's loved him ever since that day she fixed his glasses on the bus.

Well... thats just my idea. IN FACT... it sounds awefully familliar to my Fanfic that Im working on... hmmm...

Check out: "You're the One that I Want" Only one chapter so far... but Ive been plugging away at chapter two... its LONG...

This is my idea:

5th Year: Ron/Hermione date a bit and break up without getting too serious.
Voldie/Danger/Adventure ... etc..

Harry dates someone other than Hermione...
Harry gets closer to Hermione... maybe just a little, but they get closer

6th Year
HHr getting closer, perphaps they date others..
Adventure/Death ..etc.
7th Year
H/Hr realise their love... more adventure... Voldemort's defeat ...etc.. I think they'll realise it pretty late, maybe even after Voldemort..
but the H/Hr hint should be everywhere by then...

Thats great! Thats sort of what I speculate will happen. I dont expect the two of them to hook up in OoP... and prolly not even book 6 (Although the hints will HOPEFULLY be strong by then)... but I really hope/think/wish/believe that book 7 will be when it all comes together for these two!

Even if they would hook up in book 5, I really doubt it would last. I think having to read them breaking up ... that's a real nightmare for all H/Hr-fans. *shudders*

I think that they will get togther in book seven. After Harry defeat Voldie, I can see Hermione running up to him and kissing him. ::sigh::

Hmmm. I think they will sort of just fall into it if it does happen in Canon. At least I hope so. **Crosses fingers for no Ron death**

I truly do think Ron will get over it. I think a lot of people expect this big soap-opera with love affairs and trysts...
I truly think Ron will get together with Hermione, will realise they're not meant to be together and then break up..
he'll move on and date other girls...
when H/hr get together he might feel a stab of jealousy and feel a bit weird since the trio is sometimes a duo plus one. and he might feel jealous about what H/Hr have between them, a deep loving affection... and he just wishes he had that... but he'll get over it. I truly think so.

I must the odd one out here.

1. I do *not* think Ron & Hermione would date. Ron likes Hermione. No matter how much R/Hr's argue that they would, I still don't think it'll happen. Hermione is a quiet type of person, she likes the library, that in itself shows she's a quiet person. Ron is loud. Can you say clash???? Plus, look at who she went to the Yule Ball with, Krum. We can tell that Hermione is attracted to dark haired, shy guys. Ummm, Ron is neither shy OR dark haired if I recall correctly.

2. Harry and Hermione would become Prefects in their 5th year! This would drive them closer, and Ron would either try to abuse their position, or distance himself from them because they are Prefects. Lily & James became Prefects in their 5th year, found it on the Lexicon!!!!! Wasn't James known as a "prankster" along with Sirius??????? Yet, he still became a prefect???? Hmmmmmmmmm.

Now, I think Harry would realize that he likes Hermione, but would feel that he's not good enough for her. I know the angst, I don't like it either. It may take Hermione, or Harry to realize that it's not true, to break down that barrier. So it may take up until the middle of the 6th book for them to *actually* get together & date.

i agree that itll probably be until the middle of the 6th book or something like that, but i do think that ron and hermione will date, even if for just a little while. it's what she's made it appear like she's building up to in some instances, and i think that jkr will play that out a little bit before she has harry and hermione get together. which they will, because its the right thing! ok, so harry will probably date cho for a little while too, maybe. im not sure. but if ya want a lot of ideas for how they could get together, just go read some fanfics! some of them are fluffy and non-realistic and all, but there are a lot of good ideas out there.

Personally, I too do not think that Ron and Hermione will get together. It would be too weird. What would they talk about? All they ever do is argue. Hermione yells at him, Ron teases her. That kind of relationship won't last. A good relationship is based on a mutual respect and a mutual understanding. Harry and Hermione have that. Harry respects and understands why she does what she does. Honestly, has an argument ever risen in Harry and Hermione.

oooh! ooh! *raises her hand frantically* I KNOW HOW THEY CAN GET TOGETHER! k, harry and hermione are in the common room very late. ALONE! I guess Harry had a bad dream, and Hermione just goes down to the common room (don't ask me why, i'm not rowling) harry starts to tear up and buit, and they hug, while hermione keeps reassuring him that it'll be ok, and that she'll always be here for him. then harry says "Mione, that'swhat i love about you. You're always here for me. You give me a shoulder to cry on, and everything you do, just brightens my day. I can't believe it took me this long to realize how much I'm in love with you." (ISN'T THAT GREAT?! )

Hermione then takes a breath, and they both lean in for a kiss. after a long time of making out, they go up to Hermione head girl room, continue kissing, then...

I do think that they'll eventually get together in book 7, not sure about 6, maybe towards the end or something.

I think they'll just get closer and closer like they did in GoF.
Maybe another Time-Turner scene in the closet. Except this time they WON'T waste time talking, if you catch my drift!!!

I have a feeling there won't be any huge kisses... honestly, it's not like Hermione you know. At least, not until the 7th book, if/when Harry and Hermione have been going out for a while.

I do agree that it would take some major earth-shattering-life-altering tragedy to happen for them to realize what had been the obvious all along.

Indeed I do, I think Harry might be mortily injured after his final battle with Voldemort, but Hermione is a phoenix animagus, and cries on his wounds making them better and Harry is ok.

I kind of like the idea that in the next book (6) Harry must face up to the fact that he has to prepare for that 'fateful meeting' as stated by the prophecy. This means he has to train up for the confrontation and that can lead to the fact that his friends will most likely want to help him in honing his skills.
this could lead to a late night, Ron sent off by Hermione to get something to eat in the Common Room while Harry and her tidy up the classroom they've been using for training and then... in Hermione's special way, she has some advice for the young man about his worries concerning the future and this will lead to the... realisation of something special? a kiss? a touch? well one of them anyway!

Maybe, we'll have to see, but the final book will the the one with the final confrontation.

well, here comes mine idea how it could happend.

it should happend in book 6, R/HG must have cleared what´s betwen then in some sorts of way, maybe a date, a moment or they talked to clear it out., or simply Ron outgrew his crush on HG(could be as simple as that), and Ron has set his eyes on Luna.
HG does not seems receptice to his attempts to get closer to her.

After they have cleared up what they feel for eachtoher and cleared the air betwen then.
Maybe harry will learn to control him self better now when he has realised how he acted.

H/H will have more moments, maybe even face old Voldie.
considering how he reacted on OOTP when HG was injured, maybe that will open harry eyes, and Hermione will hear him, and she will realise her´s feeling towads him.
so i am going towards the tragic theory that some of you seems to have.
at the moment, and considering that they both lead the DA, harry and HG as his 2:nd in command, and the only one able to make potronas(think spelled it wrong).
they are gona be in fight against voldie or one of his people sooner or later.

so what do you think of mine theory?

harry becomes increasingly frustrated and suicidal in book 6. he tries to separate himself from the world of reality and becomes increasingly depressed. it the depth of his depression he rejects the world and the prophecy. he drowns in a pool of self remorse for having lost sirius and his parents, he blames himself for their deaths. ron and hermione will become increasingly aware of the change that had occured over their friend harry. ron will not confront him though and will leave him to himself. hermione on the other hand will be the one to confront harry who will be drowning in his own remorse. harry will lash out at hermione and say things like stay away from me, you don't know what it feels like to be me, and stuff like he's a threat to their lives. hermione will offer a ray of hope in the deepest of his depression, she will give him something to live for. it is this hope that will bring harry to his senses and will give him the will power to defeat their greatest adversary voldy. harry will realize how much hermione means to him and he will tell her that he loves her, and it is the power of love that saves him from death while fighting voldemort. =) great plot eh?

I think you may be on to something here. If Harry does begin to push himself away from his friends, obviously they are going to be a bit concerned( I don't know if he's suicidal, but one line near the end of OotP really threw me off ). Ron may feel as if Harry needs some time to grieve and gives him his space( God knows he would love to spend some time alone with Hermione ). But, Hermione wouldn't stay for it. She has a strong personality and is not one to sit and watch while things happen.

Ooh, Tom, good idea. I like that, and it may well happen.

If Hermione was to go to Harry and comfort him, i'm sure *** wouldn't really like it, so he might ask Hermione out, who would be too anxious about Harry. *** would say 'go and ask him out then' in a fit of rage, and she would.

How do you see Harry and Hermione getting together?

Do you think Harry will slowly begin to like her, or do you think that it'll be something spontaneous, or do you think that Ron and Hermione will start going out, and it'd cause Harry to open his eyes?

i think that ron and hermione will go out first, then harry will " open his eyes", hermione will tell ron that its not going to work between them after a week or too , harry will tell her his feelings about her (but very shyish) and then hermione will say "y dont we try going out?", they start going out ron gets mad at harry, harry then....i dunno now lol but thats wat i think

hihi...I think its definitely going to take some time for our brave but very dense Harry to realize that the perfect girl is right in front of him. It may take a wack on the end, or maybe just a little kiss on the cheek or maybe even two *wink *wink...

I think (and hope) it's gonna be a huge-dramatic-gigantic-explosive-earth shattering moment... because their unknown feelings would have been building up for so many years... *sigh*

I reckon that there will be a life threatening thing happening to the trio and will bring harry/Hermione closer together than they are now and then they will (hopefully) realise their feelings 4 each other

I think Hermione will date Ron first, or Terry. (Unfortunately )
But when she does, harry will realise his feelings for hermione.
And then they marry and have kids

I personally think that Ron and Hermione might date first and then somewhere in his sixth year or possibly seventh year, Harry and Hermione will date at the end and Hermione will help Harry defeat Voldemolt. Then Harry and Hermione will get married and have kids and get jobs either at Hogwarts or the Ministry of Magic.

Ooooh, I love that theory! It'll be so cool and sweet! The R/Hr-ers wont see that one coming! Hehe! One second they're arguing and the next they're in a lip lock! Cool!

I think this will happen....hoping! In book 6, Harry has a dream about Hermione being taken by Voldemort. He gets scared and tell Herms. She says that it was just a nightmare. Then she recieves a letter from someone unknown. Harry gets even more scared and has a feeling it's from Voldie. He tells herms that she has to stay away from him. He can't risk his dream coming true. Voldie might find out how much she means to him and use her to cause him pain. Herms thinks that he's overreacting. Harry tells her he's scared of what could happen. They try to stay away from each other. Ron notices they're both miserable. He talks to Harry and Ginny talks to Herms. They both ask h/hr "Why are you so miserable? Why do you care so much?" Then they realize it. They're awkward..yada yada yada. They continue to hide their feelings. Voldemort does take herms...harry rescues her. They confess in the common room the last day of school, and the rest is history.

I just think that Hermione will be sitting in the hospital wing, probably in a coma, and Harry will confess his love to her, just as she's waking up.

Ah...so romantic!

u no i'm beginning to think all h/hrs are hopeless romantics and i may be wrong but i think most of us would love a relationship like h/hr(at least i would), because our ship is the perfect true-love couple....

Right. A relationship will only work if there is some kind of common ground - and yes, you have to be friends with each other more than anything.

Having been on the relationship roundabout for a few years now, I do actually feel qualified to say that if you don't have common interests, there's no way in hell you can have a functional relationship.
