ok. guys, this really bugs me...what do you think? should harry fall for ginny while she falls for draco?

of course, ginny and draco would end up together...its just that harry would complicate the story. biggrin.gif wub.gif heart.gif

so, what do you think?

vote and reply!
jade_radcliffe
i voted for choice no. 2..... i really pity harry when some writers make him fall in love with Ginny, then, she falls for draco...-sighs-

Personally, I think the Draco/Ginny/Harry love triangle is a bit overdone in fanfic anyway, and I would rather have Harry pining away for Hermione... wink.gif But that's besides the point.

The point is, I'm pretty sure this thread could be combined with this one, so I'm going to ask a mod about it.

And welcome to PK, jade_radcliffe! *passes over pumpkin pie and muffins*

I voted for option 2, Harry should not fall in love with Draco. All that H/G/D stuff has been overdone anyway, and I only know a handful of stories in which Harry falls for Ginny but she gets Draco that are good.

My computer seems not to like that link (I'm on the one that makes me want to bang my head against the wall), but you do that Faith!

Hahaha I was the only one (so far) who said that they didn't care.

I think that the H/G/D triangle is nice if it is done well, which is scarcely, but I wouldn't say that Harry shouldn't get 'the girl' either. I mean, hey, who says that Ginny is 'the girl' anyway?

I always like a nice conflict of interests but sometimes it's just HORRIBLY done. I also like fics without the triangle... thus the non-care-ing. Haha, I just talked myself into a circle, didn't I?

Is that what you meant to say, Ri?

QUOTE
2. no. harry should not fall for ginny while she falls for draco because i'll pity harry--he may be the hero, but he never got the girl.

Well I picked this, but only because I wanted to pick a no. I wouldn't "pity" Harry, I would be angry with him for only realizing that there is more to Ginny when DRACO does... that's really immature and selfish of him.

So I don't completely agree with that option.

Well, sorry bout that option…..couldn’t think of any other…and about the “he didn’t get the girl” thing, I was merely saying that he lost the battle of fighting for ginny…coz, draco got her, or something like that….

And about harry sticking to hermione? Well, I don’t like them paired up…hermione is better off with ron. They lok good together.

Harry? Well, I think that JKR will insert another girl into his life….i don’t know who, but I think there’s another girl.

TAKE THAT BACK!!! lol, just kidding, dont agree though.

i picked "Dont care" i really dont care who fights for Ginny or what obstacles the author dreams up as long as Ginny and Draco end up together, plus harry is clearly made for 'mione so why would he go for Ginny? I just dont care, because in the end Harry will always realise Hermione is the woman of his dreams, Draco and Ginny will uncover there hidden love for one another wub.gif , and Ron will probably get mad!

I don't care. Certainly, it would provide the story with a nice twist, but poor little harry will be heartbroken. sad.gif

You guys really want to kow some things?

here i go. i'll probably get kicked out in portkey.org for doing this at a d/g thing but i cant help it!

here it goes: (sorry gal texter, i really need to post this!)

ok, yeah, its fine. i do respect other people's opinion. but for me, its harry/pansy. yes, you've heard right, harry/pansy.

some ideas:

QUOTE
James, Harry's middle name, is Hebrew, and very ancient. It comes from the name Jacob, which most of you might recognise from the Old Testament. I know John had a spazz attack when he found out the meaning, though. "The Supplanter." For those of you who don't know what 'supplanting' is, I'll explain. In laymen's terms, it basically means 'to plant'.

there's more...

QUOTE
James Potter, Harry's father, who married Lily Evans. Lily being a flower. People plant flowers. "The Supplanter." Harry James Potter, the hero. Anyone else see a flower name around here? I do!

and for all who hate h/g: life savers!:

QUOTE
Ginger is a spice, a root. ou don't pot a root. So sorry to spoil any Harry/Ginny hopes for you, if you're going only by name meanings. They just don't fit. People who claim Hermione fits the same mould are even further off. Hermione is a Greek name, used in mythology, Shakespeare, and there is a Saint Hermione in Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Its meaning.. well, simply put, is 'Dirt'. Yes, you pot dirt, but you don't supplant it. Nothing grows if you just stick a pot full of dirt outside, right? Hermione also means 'Earth'. You might think this meaning better suits Harry/Hermione, but, unfortunately for you, if you take a quick look at the name Ron (or Ronald, they mean the same thing), you'll catch what J. K. was going for. Ron means 'Ruler of the Earth'. Get it? Got it? Good.

so, hermione and ron.... sorry bout that waffleprincess...

and the last one that got MY ATTENTION!:

QUOTE
Pansy is a flower, Interestingly enough, there are two traditional mourning flowers which are the norm in Europe: the pansy and the lily.

WELL, JUST HAD TO TAKE IT OFF...thanks for saying your opinions!

REACTIONS PLEASE!?

Nice point. I agree. Go MMM. Lmao.

Harry/Ginny/Draco provides a nice little twist, and it also gives Ginny a choice... which I think is nice because it's not just shoved in her face as to who she should be with. It also helps the author keep the characters in character. I often find that people make Draco too sweet, but with Harry around, how could he be sweet? Lol. So, I suppose that for beginning authors who tend to write D/G should go for the triangle and then, once they're sucessfully accomplished that, move on to more complicated things with the characters on their own.

Wow... talk about a ramble.

Anyway, yall seem to be heading towards off topic-ness... so please try to keep the fact that this thread is for the H/G/D triangle only in mind. Thank you. I don't think that the discussion of Ron/Hermione/Harry or Ginny/Draco/Pansy really pertains to this subject. Unless you can prove me otherwise, of course. biggrin.gif

Just wanted to say something before I had to go all crazy!Mod on you. tongue.gif

I think it would be interesting to see what would happen if Harry fell for Ginny when she was already falling for Draco. It might cause a lot of extra tension anyways, because Ginny could very easily turn around and say something to the effect of: I gave you a chance when I liked you, but you didn't like me then, so HA! or something to that effect. Haha...I always thought that if Harry suddenly fell in love with Ginny, he deserved that, especially if it comes to him trying to break Draco and Ginny up...ok I'm done rambling!! tongue1.gif

-kc!!?
InsipidNight
Since I'm H/Hr, I don't think Harry should fall for Ginny... And I think a Riddle/Ginny/Draco love triangle would be more interesting than a H/G/D. I think Tom Riddle is the only person that can compete with Draco because he's just as sexy and evil. ^.^

Oh yes, and seeing all the hard times Harry has been through...I don't think he deserves to be broken hearted. In conclusion, Harry should be with Hermione. Mwahaha!

offtopic.gif Yeah, I'm off topic..but I'm just expressing my opinions. You can yell at me now. *hides*
