Summary: Life with Draco and Ginny as a married couple

You're there by my side,
Every way
I know that you will not forsake me
I give you my life,
Would not think twice
Your love is all I need, believe me

-Nick Lachey, This I Swear

NewlyWeds

It all went by so fast. The engagement party, the planning, the bachelorette party, everything! The wedding, the honeymoon, moving in together. Now that Ginny looked back on it, it all seemed like a big blur. Though the same solid figure remained there, throughout everything, her husband, Draco Malfoy.

She rolled over in the bed expecting to find him there; what she found was not her husband, but a rose and a note. She brought the rose to her nose as she read over Draco’s small, neat script.

Ginny,

I had to go into work early, you know how Blaise is, can’t do anything by himself. I had Kerry make breakfast for you, I hope it’s still warm, but judging by your sleeping habits, I’d say it’s around 11:30. You better get back on track if you want that teaching job. I’ll be home around five.

Love,

Draco

Ginny got out of bed and walked to Draco’s dresser. She opened a drawer and pulled out one of his black shirts. She always wore something of his when he wasn’t home. She put the shirt on and walked out of their room, down the many halls and stairs, into the kitchen.

“Kerry.” Ginny called out.

A small house elf came running out into the room, “Yes Misses? What can Kerry get yous?”

“Where is the food Draco left?”

“On the table waiting for the misses! Kerry charmed it with a heating spell, she did!”

“Thank you Kerry.” The house elf bowed before making it’s way out of the kitchen.

After Ginny ate breakfast she showered and decided to go to The Burrow.

“Mum!” Ginny yelled, “Mum, are you home!?”

“In the kitchen, dear.” Was her mums reply.

‘As always,’ Ginny took off her robe and lay it on the couch. “Mmm, apple pie. Smells delicious. Too bad Draco’s not here, he loves your pie to death.”

Her mother turned away from the stove and quickly made her way towards Ginny. “How are you?” She asked as she pulled her in for a bear hug.

“Great mum, how are you and dad?”

Mrs. Weasley nodded, “Good! Sit down, I’ll cut you a slice, and you can tell me how things are going.”

Ginny took a seat in her favorite chair, “How what things are going?” She asked when her mum came back into the room carrying a small saucer with apple pie on it.

“Well…can I plan on adding another baby to the Christmas count, next year?”

Ginny sat back in the chair, “Mum,” she whined, “Draco and I are not planning on having kids right now. We’re still young, yet.”

Molly nodded, “If you asked me, I’d say you’re the perfect age to start.”

Ginny rolled her eyes, “Coming from a woman who has seven kids and nearly fifteen grandchildren.” Ginny laughed and took a bite of her pie.

“Where is my only son-in-law?”

“He had to go into work early. Though I really should ask him to stop seeing Blaise so much, he’s going to make drive him mad.”

Molly let out a hearty laugh, “Is Blaise still going on about taking fencing lessons with Draco?”

Ginny nodded, “Barking mad, the both of them. Draco for actually considering it.”

Ginny and her mother talked for a while longer before it was time for Ginny to get back home. “And don’t forget, family picnic next Saturday, no matter what Draco says, he’s coming!” Ginny nodded, waved at her mum, and apperated home.

Ginny looked down at her watch; it was currently 4:30. He lovely husband would be home fairly soon. She walked into the kitchens and asked for dinner to be started.

She lay down on the couch and closed her eyes, just resting them, of course.

Her eyes fluttered open when she felt lips on her neck. “Hello sleepy.” Draco kissed Ginny on the cheek.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to fall asleep.”

“It’s quite alright.”

“How was your day?” Ginny asked as she stood up from the couch.

“Same as always, Blaise wants to actually sword fight.” Draco sighed and stood too, “I don’t know how he became my best friend.”

Ginny closed her eyes when Draco stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, “I missed you.”

Draco grinned, “Why don’t you show me how much you missed me?”

She turned around and looked up at him, “Maybe later…I’m hungry and I have a bit of reading to do.”

Draco frowned, “Alright, but before I forget, next Saturday mum wants us to come and visit.”

“Saturday? We can’t!”

“Why not? We always go to your family-get-togethers.”

“My family picnic is tomorrow!”

“Owl your mum and tell her we can’t make it.”

“We might not be able to make it, but I will,” Ginny proclaimed.

“You never come to anything that has to do with my family.”

“I can’t go anywhere with your mother, all she ever does is nag, nag, nag! If she promises not to say a word about babies, my hair or my choice of clothing, then maybe we can work something out.”

Draco glared at her, “Malfoy’s do not nag.”

Ginny rolled her eyes, “Let’s just eat dinner.”

“Right…” Draco followed her to the kitchen.

After they ate dinner, Draco went into his office to do some work and Ginny went into the library to read one of her many books. She wanted to be a teacher at a wizarding school for young kids. She leaned back in the chair and began reading.

She read until she heard the tapping of an owl on the window. She ran to the window and let the owl fly in. She took the letter of the owl’s leg and petted its head softly.

The Owl hooted and flew off, “Draco!” She yelled, running out of the room, “Draco, Draco, Draco!”

The door opened up, “What’s wrong, Gin?”

“My acceptance letter came!”

“They accepted you?”

Ginny’s brow furrowed, “Well…I haven’t opened it yet.”

“Why don’t you?”

Ginny grinned and tore the letter open like it was a Christmas present.

Virginia Malfoy,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to teach at Merlin’s Magic. Class starts on August 24, you probably should come in a week early to set up your room, and meet your fellow staff members. Congratulations and welcome to Merlin’s Magic!

Sincerely,

Clifford Cunningham

“I got the job!”

Draco hugged Ginny and kissed the top of her head, “That’s great, what level are you teaching?”

“Level two! Kids ranging from the ages of seven to eight.”

“I don’t know how you’ll do it.”

“I love Kids, Dra!” She kissed him, “I need to floo mum!” She made to leave but Draco caught her wrist.

“Why don’t we go, celebrate.” He nibbled on her ear softly.

Ginny sighed and wrapped her arms around his neck, “I promised mum she’d know as soon as possible!”

“And she will know as soon as it is possible for you to tell her.” Draco caught Ginny off guard and scooped her up in his arms.

Ginny giggled, “I love it when you carry me like this.”

Draco smirked and made his way to their bedroom to congratulate his wife.
