i think they should be in the middle of a tradgety and harry thinks he is about to die so he says "hermione, before i go on i just want to say i love you. i ave ever since the first year. i'll never let go of hope." and then she says "be strong harry. you know i love you too. be strong and we can get out of here." and then he doesnt die, and they get toghether that would be so cute.
Kalie
I personally like Lisse's idea, but that's just me biggrin.gif
jackryan411
Yeah, right before the battle starts...goddamn it, that would be cute...

I just have the feeling that Hermione is already in love with Harry. She's a very mature girl for her age, but then has been since they met her. My reasons as to why she hasn't said anything to him is that... well... Harry at this stage, though he obviously cares about her, he doesn't love her anymore than just a friend. He's had this crush on Cho, which he's now gotten over, but then of course he's got other worries now, such as the prophecy. Hermione strikes me as the kind of girl (a bit like myself) who is able to give advice to her friends (though she herself hasn't been all that involved in dates - I am speaking about myself here) and yet when it comes to liking a guy she isn't like Cho and can just walk up to him and say 'Hey, I like you let's go out together!'.
Hermione would be more than likely to wait for Harry to realise how she feels, and in the mean time she will stand by him, though he may have his eyes elsewhere.
I actually had this cool idea running through my head the other night (my brain never stops when it comes to stories - damn it). I had this vision (my stories always run like movies in my head) of book 6 starting with Harry watching the news and seeing a report on a house that has a mysterious sign hovering above it - the Dark Mark! As the reporter goes on, he mentions that the house belongs to the Granger family, which leads Harry to believe that Voldemort has gone after Hermione. He makes his way to where the house is only to discover that an innocent Granger family has been killed by mistake and that Hermione and her folks have been placed in hiding - but it's enough to scare him witless at the thought of one of his friends being killed.
PS (I got this idea from Arthur Weasley in book 4 saying about how people would come home to see the dark mark above their house).
After this, Harry is very protective (even more so) of Hermione during the rest of the book, his worry and anxiety over what happened earlier. At the end of the book, she is placed in danger (of course) and he must save her (of course) and again it hits home to him that he's nearly lost her twice this year.
At the end of it all, he'll realise how much he would miss her if something ever happened to her and on the train trip home, the first spark of a love 'more than friendship' would begin as he thinks back over the year and all the times he could have lost her.
What do you think? wink.gif
Kalie
Ah, now I'm torn! I really like your idea, cmdahms!
Elegant_Hermione
My idea of how it going to happen is with Ron's help...yeah that's right. He has liked Hermione with no affection given back to him for over two years and unless he is completely blind to how she reacts toward Harry(grabbing his arm and hugging him , worries about him very much, and how she seems to like being close to him) he is going to see that she has feelings for Harry. I think he will open his mouth to Harry by saying something like She likes you, mate... can't you see how she acts around you. I think Harry is going to be surprised by this outburst. He is going to be like W-WHAT are you talkin about! And Ron is going to (miserably)have to open Harry's eyes to the details. This would make Harry question their relationship and confront Hermione about their feelings. It might be silly but I just thought it up.
SweetSolitude1377
There are just so many ways I'd love to see Harry and Hermione get together!

Maybe they would just be taking a walk around the lake or Harry would be giving Hermione a flying lesson and they would kiss. Or when they are in great danger and Harry just shouts out that he loves Hermione, or they are in a fight and Harry is rambling an apology when Hermione just kisses him. There are so many fluffy things that could happen! (As you can see I've read a lot of fanfics...)

Well, whatever way they get together will be fine, as long as they are together.

I want it to be a big, cataclysmic moment, much like PoU smile.gif In a lot of ways I don't want it to be mushy; I want it to be serious, on-the-brink-of-destruction stylee.
Harry/Hermione 4eva
Yeah I agree with tistytotsy I want it to be a huge massive scene where everyones lives are on the line and they tell eachother becuase they think they're gonna die, but (Ready for the mushy bit? Sorry tistytotsy It just gets out of me all the time! blush.gif ) their newly discovered love saves them all like when Lily dies to protect Harry except no one dies! The scene in OotP where Sirius died made me cry! crying.gif
rip.gif RIP Sirius!
diam0ndgrrl
Ohhh. I want a huge massive scene too! Exactly like PoU.. lots of passion! But I also love the idea of Harry teaching Hermione to fly a broom. Lots of potential there!

Lol... "flying lessons," is that what the kiddies call it these days? I can hear it now!
Ice Phoenix
I don't want anything mushy or big really, I just want it to be rushed, to save embaressment, I don't care how it develops from there, but that would be more like Harry.
ricelius
How about like in the Matrix (thematrixshy? Doesn't sound as good as starwarshy...)? I know Harry's already aware he's the one (in a sense)... But he could still (almost) die, like of his wounds after the final battle where he would have killed Voldemort. And he'd sort of give up living because since Voldemort would be dead there'd be nothing left for him to do. And then Hermione would tell him that she loved him and would he please not die and Harry would realize that life would indeed be worth living.
Harry and Hermione= True love
Interesting idea Ricelius. biggrin.gif Or how bout' while they're arguing about why Harry is always yelling at Hermione. Or about how Harry is desperately trying to get Hermione to stay away from a dangerous situation where voldie is involved and he has tears flowing. Then Hermione says "Why do you care so much?" And Harry screams "Because I love you!" wub.gif
Tiffany
Nothing rushed or passionate. Harry slowly begins to see Hermione as a girl, and these new, strange feelings distract and boggle him throughout the sixth book, but he doesn't give them a name (i.e., he doesn't admit that he has a crush). Then gradually, in the seventh book, his feelings are elaborated, and he does label his feelings as being more than friendly, but by being so caught up with Voldemort, he doesn't actually label them as love until the end (this is based upon an ending where Harry lives, unfortunately), when he and Hermione are about to part ways. He doesn't say that he loves her, but he does hint at it; and it is implied that she returns his feelings. And it is implied that they later meet up during the summer to at least discuss their feelings and the implications that come with them.

I don't know. I would really like to see something non-angsty and non-soapy. I mean, the fifth book is the beginning of bleaker times. It would seem unrealistic for Harry and Hermione to be all lovey-dovey when the world is on the verge of exploding. Have Harry preoccupied by death and secrets; after everything is done and done, and he has time to actually analyze his feelings, then H/H.

I'm not very romantic, as you guys can see.
TheRealist
I'm with Tiffany on this one. I also think it would be unrealistic for them to have some amazing revalation, huge fireworks, ect. I think it's going to be more suttle (if it does happen) and it won't be some really big moment. They may come to a realization that they think of each other as more than friends, and then their relationship builds from there. Or they're sitting in the common room and Hermione leans over and kisses him or something like that. I don't see H/Hr pledging their undying love for each other in the midst of battle... it would just seem kind of out of context. Actually, knowing J.K., one or both of them will die without knowing the other one loved them. But you know, if it does happen I'm sticking with the small, non-spectacular, saw-it-coming type of deal (even if the process is slow). But that's just my opinion, and I don't have anything against any of yours. biggrin.gif
purple_mud
I agree with Tisty.

I want it massively earth-shattering! But I have no idea how that would play out. And I don't know what "massively earth-shattering" entails. I just thought it was the best words to use.

If it doesn't go like that... I want it to go quietly, sort of like it sneaked up from right behind them and all they could say is "Oh!" And the kissy-kissy part! Hehehe. But again, I have no idea how this would play out.

Goes to show how completely unimaginative I am.

Oh well.
FireEyes7
This is how I want it to play out.
Harry and Hermione just got done defeating Voldemort. Hermione gets seriously injured and that sends Harry into a blind rage so he kills Voldemort. Harry carries Hermione to the hospital wing to have her treated for her injuries. They are not sure if Hermione is going to make it thru the night. Harry stays with her all night long. Her conditon is slowly getting wores so finally Harry gives up all pretences and says" Hermione don't die I know there is no way you can feel the same but I.. I... I love you. You can't leave me now I don't want the story of my life to be that everyone I love ends up dead." Hermione hears this whole thing and whispers that she loves him too and she knows a way to break his *curse*. He immediately says he would do any thing to save her. All he has to do is kiss her and a portal will be opened that alowes her life to be completely restored. So of course he kisses her(usual kiss sene apples).
The End
sunshinebelle
LOL this is just an idea, its not my absolute favourite or anything,
but Hermione and Harry can confess in a princess bride kind of way.
Have you read the book? Buttercup thinks of Westley and all of a sudden she thinks.. wow! i love him! I call it the buttercup revelation..
that might be entertaining!

~*Amanda
dreamin_athena
Hmm, I think I'd like it drawn out through the next 2 books, but I like Harry and Hermione= True love's idea for the final confession.
danlover
i just dont think hermione and harry are capable of talking to one another. i definitely think that when it happens-it'll happen very quickly, and abrupt, completely out of the blue. like they're be arguing and then bam they kiss! now that would be awesome!!
Sirius83
Well, in canon i like the theory that Harry realises how much Hermione cares about him after telling her about the prophecy, following which Harry realises his feelings...but what would be very nice for me personally is if they just come to some sort of mutual understanding.
Serendipity
I have a feeling that Hermione's feelings will come out in one of their major arguments.
it might be something like this...
************
Harry walked stealthily toward the forbidden forest. He had taken off his invisiblity cloak after he snuck out of Hogwarts. He needed to find Voldemort before Voldemort finds him. A twig snapped loudly behind Harry. Harry froze and whipped around suddenly pointing his wand at whomever behind him. He gasped, as his face turned deathly white.
"Hermione! What are you doing here?" Harry hissed angrily.
"I just know you would do soemthing stupid like this," Hermione retorted, "Why can't you wait until tomorrow so we can all come with you?"
Harry sighed exasperatedly; time was being wasted, "Listen Hermione. I need to go alone. I need to find Voldemort tonight." Harry said peremptorily.
"But Harry, You can't go alone. It's too dangerous. Let us come with you." Hermione pleaded.
Harry glared at her and yelled, "Don't you understand? It's me that Voldemort wants. Not Ron, not Luna, not Neville, not Ginny, and definitely not you!"
Hermione's eyes filled up with tears, "I know that! I know Harry! But we want to help you. Let us help!"
"You can't help me! No one can help me! Don't you understand Mione? It's fate. I have to either kill Voldemort or...or---"
"No! You can't! I won't let you!" Hermione cried shrilly.
Harry glared at Hermione. He couldn't believe someone could be so interfering. "Why are you so interfering? Why can't you just leave me alone? Just mind your own buisness Hermione!" Harry yelled furiously.
"I can't!" Hermione shouted. "I can't." Hermione said again weakly, "I can't because I---I care about you. You're my---my best friend. I can't stop caring or worrying." Hermione's face is shining with tears. She furiously tried to wipe them away with her sleeves. Harry caught her wrist.
Harry's face softened a little; Hermione sniffled and continued, "i can't stop caring Harry, because---because--I---I" Hermione looked down on the ground. In the midst of the darkness, Harry couldn't see Hermione's scarlet face, but he could feel the heat radiating out of her.
"Hermione?" Harry murmurred. She lifted her eyes and looked into his emerald green ones.
"I just want you to know that---that I care about you too." Harry looked sincerely into her eyes.
Hermione smiled weakly. She jumped on to Harry and hugged him furiously.
"Didn't you know Potter? That love is a weakness?" A deep, haunting voice called out within the forest.
Harry and Hermione looked instinctively toward the ominous darkness that surrounded them.
A pair of frightening red eyes came slowly into view. Harry could feel Hermione trembling. Harry wrapped his arm protectively around Hermione's waist, while pointing his wand at the figure in front him with his other arm.
Hermione too, raised her wand instinctively and the two shared a glance. Hermione nodded resolutely.
<then the three has a big duel..you can picture loads of H/Hr team work...>
Voldemort was standing over Harry. A few feet away, Hermione lay weakly. Both of their wands had been blasted to Merlin knows where.
Voldemort's face widened into a grin.
"So Harry Potter. Have you learned your lesson? In this pitiful world, there isn't good or evil; right or wrong; there is only power." Voldemort laughed evilly.
"You're wrong." Harry seethed, "There is something else. There is something stronger than you'll ever be. There is something more powerful than whatever you have; there is something so pure that it overpowers everything. There is love."
Voldemort laughed again. He pointed his wand at Harry's chest; his red eyes turned cold, "This is where you say good-bye Potter. I shall be very glad to finish off the little Mudblood after you're gone. She'll join you soon. Don't worry."
Harry painfully got to his feet. He is not going to die flat on his back. He is going to remain standing, like his father. Harry looked straight into Voldemort's greedy pernicious eyes.
Voldemort's sneered, "Say Good-bye Potter. Avada Kedav---"
"NO!!!!" Hermione yelled. "She flew in front of Harry as Voldemort said the hateful words. A blast of green light came from Voldemort's wand, as Hermione pushed Harry down.
As if watching in slow motion, Hermione fell backwards.
"HERMIONE!!!" Harry made one last effort to grasp her hand. Their voices mingled strangely with Voldemort's laughter as well as few unknown sounds. "I LOVE YOU!!!" Harry screamed with tears flowing freely.
A bright red light spread from their bodies. Hermione's eyelids flickered. Voldemort had stopped laughing and was watching silently a few feet away from them. Harry touched Hermione's hand. A special bond seemed to exist between them. There seemed to be a force that linked them together. Hermione slowly opened her eyes. "Harry?" She muttered.
"I'm here Hermione." Harry whispered.
"I love you too." Hermione said softly.
A bright jet of light exploded toward Voldemort. Who stood there shocked and inmotile.
"NO!!!" Voldemort howled as the light went through his chest. Harry gathered Hermione into his arms and hugged her tightly, shielding her from the view.
Everything went dark. The night was silent. Not even an owl hooted. The trees stood still. Not even a breeze can be felt.
Harry stood there quietly with Hermione in his arms.
Hermione looked up cautiously. "Harry? Is V-Voldemort..."
Harry stared into her eyes reassuringly, "He's gone. He's completely destroyed. He'll never be back again."
"But---what? What made him---"
"disappear?" Harry interrupted. Hermione nodded.
"you should know, for being the cleverest witch in Hogwarts." Harry chuckled.
Hermione looked down on the ground. She couldn't quite meet Harry's gaze, "Is it---love?" Hermione asked timidly.
Harry lifted Hermione's chin, and stared deeply into her amber eyes.
"Yes. It's love." He whispered softly
Their faces were inches a part. Hermione closed her eyes...

First of all, hello everyone!! I'm new. biggrin.gif *waves to everyone* OK, here's what I've been thinking:

Obviously, I want Harry and Hermione to get together in the end. But everyone else is saying that a relationship between Ron and Hermione is iminent. And I agree. Partially. The way I see it, JK has been leading up to the point where Ron and Hermione finally become 'boyfriend and girlfriend' for a long time. And it will probably happen. BUT - I don't expect the relationship to last more than a few months. They've been dancing around each other for a while now, so they'll probably have a little relationship sometime soon. But THIS is where the good part starts. While Hermione and Ron are together, Harry will take a step back and re-evaluate (hmm . .wonder if that's a word?) his friendship with both of them. He'll try to be happy for them at first, but then he'll start having this little empty feeling - which will grow steadily - until he finally realizes that he *can't* be happy for them -because he FINALLY understands that he likes Hermione as more than just a friend. And then he'll be miserable for a little while (aww . . poor guy sad.gif ). But THEN - Hermione and Ron will finally realize that there's just too much *tension* for them to be together (I would expect them to be fighting ALL THE TIME.) So Hermione and Ron will break up, Ron will go off to sulk for a while, and Hermione will seek comfort. And she'll find it . . in Harry!! And the rest, my dears, will be *history*!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Hmm . . you know . . . this seemed pretty darn brilliant as I was writing it. But now that I'm done - it looks oddly familiar . .almost like it's been done before . . . *cough* fan fics *cough* rolleyes.gif blush.gif Oh, well - I thought of it all on my own - and then thought of that! Oh, well . . . biggrin.gif But that's exactly how I see it happening in the book - what do you guys think??

Asriel
Hey StarDust,
Welcome to Portkey! biggrin.gif

I don't agree that that is the best way Harry and Hermione sould get together, because, if my calculations are correct, that is exactly the way Luna could go straight into Harry's arms!

If that happens, any chance of Harry/Hermione happening is next to non-existent.

1) Harry is already falling for Hermione. He isn't aware of it yet.

2) If Hermione and Ron, get together; Ron will want Hermione to spend time with him and, therefore, time away from Harry - this is only natural. Hermione's going to have to make a choice, what will it be? Ron, or Harry? If she decides to go with her new boyfriend, then she lost all hopes of getting together with Harry.

3) Harry would end up feeling quite lonely, because this is when Harry would need her the most (due to Sirius' death) - he is going to need his friends, particularly Hermione.

4) Harry, feeling abandoned, because his friends have seemingly left him to be together, and hurt because he is falling for Hermione but does know know it yet, will start to retreat into his shell - and if that happens, it will take an exceptionally strong person who is not Hermione, who'll be too busy with Ron, to get him out. There's only one other person who might be able to do that and that is Luna. This is because she's the only other female who is friends with Harry.

5) Remember that Luna too will also be hurt by Ron's implied rejection (if he and Hermione shack up). Luna will end up comforting Harry and him, her - and guess what will happen? Luna would suddenly realise that there's is an extremely nice black haired, green eyed boy who happens to care for her and treat her right and if that happens; then, Harry/Luna will set sail. It may not be the ideal relationship but it will happen - and it WON'T break up that easily.

Once Ron and Hermione break up, and you can be rest assured that they will; an interesting situation will develop because, both Ron and Hermione will want to be Harry's friend again, but will expect him to choose one over the other. Do you REALLY think that they're going to split amicably? LOL!

The problem is, after what has happened, will Harry even want them near him? I somehow don't think so. I don't think Luna'd want to be near Ron either or have Hermione near her new boyfriend and I don't think Harry would object to her, Luna, not wanting him, Harry to have any connections with Hermione. He's already learned that lesson with Cho!

Even if they decide to let Hermione back in, the Harry and Hermione friendship will not be the same as it was before - remember that this time, Harry will be with his girlfriend and that relationship will be right in Hermione's face (Remember H/C did not take place in front of her). I don't think Hermione would appreciate the fact that she'll have to take second place to Luna. She wasn't willing to do it when Cho was around, and I doubt that she's willing to do it with Luna. The only other solution would be to find someone else and move out... or wait and wait and wait and hope that Luna dies, because, frankly speaking, that will be the only way that they may be able to get together.
Harry/Hermione 4eva
ARGH!!!! Harry/Luna?! No, no, no!!! That cannot happen!

OK, I change my vote! Harry does something really good for Mione's Birthday *Cough*SLAVE FOR A DAY*Cough* and she'll fall for him!

OK, maybe not! laugh.gif

Welcome StarDust! smile.gif
*hands more Pumpkin pie, because one can never have enough*

Here's another POV too.
I don't believe that the R/Hr relationship is eminent at all.

First of all, I don't believe that Hermione would ever endanger her chances with Harry, which would certainly happen if she went with Ron.
You can find evidence of Hr-->H
At least as much as there is of R-->Hr
As subjective as all this stuff is smile.gif

Secondly, I don't believe that she would go with Ron, even if Harry were out of the picture. They just don't get along, and frankly, he treats her very badly, and she has acknowledged this.

And lastly, I am not convinced that Ron is all that hot for Hermione anyway. There is plenty of evidence that he see her the same way he sees Ginny. As a sister/friend who he wants to protect. Just looking at the way he reacts to Ginny and Michael Corner compared to Hermione and Viktor Krum. And after all, he did tell Harry after the Yule Ball fight, that Hermione had completely missed the point!

Anyway, it is a pretty weak ship if its only got a chance to sail once another one has sunk. I don't see this as the case at all for our beloved HMS Pumpkin Pie.
That is one reason I love the idea of this ship. It has such a strong foundation. (Hull if you will, keeping with the ship analogy)

I believe our ship is the strongest one there. Subjectivity being what it is. But also love being what it is. smile.gif
StarDust
Well, I didn't mean to imply that that's the ONLY way Harry and Hermione could ever get together - on the contrary, I believe there are tons of ways - it's just a theory one of my friends and I have been pondering for a little while - just thought I'd get some responses on it. biggrin.gif

Hello,

I had a suggestion for a H/Hr fic. Harry should have a GF and had lost her, then get support from her two friends that have different point of views. therefore, harry would gradually start to love mione.

im still going with my idea of a moment between the two...possibly in the common room. they'll be talking about something really significant and relevant to whatever's happening at that particular moment, and then they'll look into each other's eyes, and just...kiss.

i know that sounds too corny, but im a hopeless romantic, what can you do?

As far a ron goes...i think he'll find out, realize that harry and hermione love each other, and then basically give up.
WonkyKris
here's an idea for someone like me who is also a hopleless romantic.
Hermione trips, Harry catches her, they look in to each others eyes, and you know the rest wub.gif whistling.gif

harryhermione4eva, hopeless romantics like us need to stick together!

Erm...............how about when Harry is about to have 'The Final Battle' with Voldie, Harry says that he can't let Hermione come because it's too dangerous, and then Hermione says "I can't live without you, if you die....I'll just waist away..........I need to be beside you, Harry, I love you."

Somethin' like that..... tongue.gif

I getting sick of hearing...that "Hermione had-to-date-Ron" for Harry to confessed his true feeling. Why?..do Harry had to confessed his love or realize his feeling from those "sitution" why can he just tell her what he feeling, without Ron or Hermiones "dating each other"
He can tell her without any trouble or someone come btw them.

I hope I am making sense... whistling.gif

hm, I wouldn't actually be at all surprised if we were to see a (although brief) R/Hr
moment *ducks pumpkin pie that's been thrown* In order for Harry to really
figure out how much Hr means to him she needs to be away for awhile.
And I think that'll be partly due to the fact that Harry is about to build a wall around himself, due to everything that's been happening around him.
That in turn might push R/Hr together, but she cannot shut about Harry and stop worrying about him, so Ron gets all frustrated.
And after Harry realises that he needs Hr, he probably will somehow figure out
that he needs love to defeat goo' ol' Voldie. So in time Harry will find out that he loves someone very close to him use that love to finish off Voldie and maybe even die... 'cause he doesn't think Hr loves him. But due to her love he returns and they live together.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's more to the love thing though, as in not only love for a lover (Her-my-oh-knee), but also love for a friend (Ron) and maybe even from an inferiour (Dobby).
What say you fellow shippers?

anyway, i agree with Seraphim! there's gotta be some R/Hr in order to be H/Hr in my opinion... *ducks another barrage of pumpkin pies*

"And I'll keep waisting! Do you really want that to happen to me Harry?"

if she says that, Harry'll probably just kiss her, or just keep standing there silent... oh well...

well it's no that important that R/Hr happen, a different scenario could include
Hermione telling Ron of for having some silly crush by using superior logic,
Ron starting to be a real prat and trying to drive the trio apart
In PoA it appeared that Harry joined Ron's side a lot simpler, also he (Harry) could
still be under the impression that he needs Ron more on his side because he's a
guy and he likes quidditch while Hermione prefers books and studying.
Hm, too many scenarios are starting to form in my head....
a. Harry realizes he needs Hermione more than Ron, cause Ron makes him do stupid stuff like duelling Malfoy and neglecting his education
b. Hermione gets injured because Harry wasn't there, realizes what a prat's he's been, spends most of his free time at Hermione's bedside falls in love with "sleeping beauty", or realizes he already is.

These things usually sound better in my head when I can imagine pretty pictures
with 'em.... well maybe not pretty pictures
