Hi,
I just wanted to say hi here in a place that I can tell I'm going to be spending a lot of time at Um why do I ship D/G - oooh a whole load of reasons I guess - the whole contrast of their characters/personality/house/class/status/wealth is a major factor as is the way the development of the good/bad, Weasley/Malfoy, Gryffindor/Slytherin angle could be developed. Plus, lets face it - the chemistry would be outstanding! I like the whole angst, drama aspect that they would create plus I like the potential for character growth in the two relatively underdeveloped chacarters. I have a confession though - I am a fan of redeemed Draco who I still think can be a right sod even if he isn't a death eater.

Anyway, that's me - I just wanted to say hi to you all

Hmm...well I guess its just random jobs people would like to have aboard their particular ship. Pick something- it can be a real sounding job or something ridiculous-and do what you want to. If you looked at my thread, I wanted to be first mate-which sounds logical. But then I'm also official hopeless romantic-which is wierd, but hey. I know at FAP people have jobs ranging from ship DJ to Draco's tie arranger. *shrugs* do what you feel!

i just wanted to say that another of my friends has joined the saga of a D/G romance even though he hasn't even heard of fanfiction. i am sure to pull him here sometimes. The reasons he gave for joining this club are the most basic and simple.

Why do I love D/G? I've always been an eccentric one, liking odd things that no one else liked, and the very idea intrigued me. Then when I read a couple of good D/G fics, I was pretty impressed at the quality and the possibilities...and I realized that I wasn't the only one.

I was thinking about D/G today, you know...and I convinced myself that D/G is very possible in canon. I mean, JKR has made it VEEEERY clear about how opposite Malfoys and Weasleys are, oh, and wouldn't it stir up a bit of a commotion had love come between Draco and Ginny. It would also do good for the books 'message'. Two fighting sides coming together with love. *sighs with fluffiness* Besides, Draco can't be in love with Ron, because then all these other people would start complaining about how inapproapriate it is for a man to love another man, and how it's not good for the children. *hmmphs* Or maybe that doesn't make sense at all, and I'm just wrong. Maybe I'll go re-think my logic.

Why I love D/G? ...hmmmz. Actually it started off by accident. I read a certain D/G fic and i kind of fell in love with the ship thereafter! lol..
There's this certain caustic chemistry which i love about them. This Fiery red headed girl that seems to be filled with gut wrenching emotions that loves and this silvery tinged blonde (peroxide*teehee*), heartless with an utterly cool demeanor....siGh.

It just seems to be..right..

If in canon they ever get together I'll be the first one on the floor from faint. EepS! Imagine the possibilities though.....oh look all my fluffy bunny feelings are hopping madly around...ok gotta stop! lol...

Well I guess its this raw sexiness and supressed fluffiness that I like about em!

Have a question: I was sitting in class, and as I was reading about Persephone, Demeter, Hades and the 'reason why there are four seasons', I had a ridiculous, crazy, incredibly odd idea after reading one sentence:

Here Persephone played with her maidens from day to day till the rocks and valleys rang with the sound of laughter, and gloomy Hades heard it as he sat on his throne in the dark land of the dead. Even his heart of stone was touched by her young beauty...

And I knew then, that I was batty. And my mind started whirring and started thinking of this crazy fanfic I could write based on D/G/Persephone/Hades parallels, and I was just at the scene where Persephone(Ginny) realizes that she loves Hades(Draco) in a disgusting way ( as in a corrupted!Ginny and Dark!Draco fic). I spent the rest of the day thinking about it, wandering aimlessly from class to class, giggling spontaneously. I think I failed my Algebra test.

Just hear me out, though: Hades, a pale, cold, malicious, blonde and gray-eyed ruler of Hell, and Persephone, his vibrant wife.


So, since I have now proved my insanity, do you have any D/G parallels you can think of?

Parallels- I can surely think up a few. Hmmm... here are the ones I've been able to come up with.

1) Great Expectations. Okay there is this boy, Pip, (Ginny) who is very content with his simple life until he is sent to go over and play at Mrs. Havisham's (Tom Riddle's) house. Mrs. Havisham is a cold old lady who is filled with disdain and hates everyone except Estella, (Draco) her adopted child. When Pip first sees Estella he knows that he's in love with her. He cherishes everything from her sarcastic and cruel wit to her beautiful face. The whole story goes on and on about how Pip pines for her (and I'm not telling you how it ends just in case some haven't read this classic novel by the amazing Dickens.)

2) InuYasha (shut up, I know I'm obsessed)- Firstly we have the main character, InuYasha (Draco), who is a mean, evil, power hungry and just a downright rude half demon. He'll do anything to get what he wants and he doesn't care about anything or anyone else. Now we have Kagome, (Ginny) the girl who posesses a jewl that has the power to make InuYasha a whole Demon. Kagome accidentally shatters the jewl and she has to team up with InuYasha to find the rest of the shards of the jewl. Along the way they fall in love (wether either of them wants to admit it or not). And I don't know the ending because the show hasn't ended yet But I DO suggest you check it out if you ever have time!

I either like humour filled D/G or angst ridden D/G. *nods* I don't like cliched D/G but then again, I don't think many people do. I'm not much for the fluff either, like Kaykos. Whenever I'm writing D/G and I get to the parts where it's supposed to be nice and fluffy and the end that everyone was waiting for, I just tend to end it. That's kind of how it was with Au Paire, lots of people were mad at me for the way I ended it, but I thought it was okay. I'm doing a epilogue now, just to appease people.

That goes for D/G too. I prefer angst D/G over anything. D/G containing dark!Draco and corrupted!Ginny. War-centric is fine, just as long as it's well written and full of emotion.

I can't remember. All I remember is that it wasn't a real good D/G fic either, and I just totally fell in love with it. I was so silly and juvenile then. I still am.

The first fic that really made me a die-hard D/G fan was MochButterfly's All You Need Is Love.

I think for me, that it was Wrongfully Accused by MochaButterfly, which is also my all-time favorite D/G fic. I don't know why exactly, but it is. I like all of her fics, they're so good and complex and everything always fits together so nicely at the end. *sigh* I wish my fics could be like that, but personally, I think they suck (mine that is, not MB's). I wish she would have continued her Ginny Weasley Diaries, I thought that was pretty good. *shrugs* I've visited her LJ before, and she says that she thinks it's time to update something, or come up with a new story for ff.net, only she doesn't have any ideas. But, I can wait, whenever she does get one, I'm sure it'll be good.

Hello all! Happy belated Valentines Day!!!!!

Actually, in the beginning I was a Draco/Hermione shipper but that really got me into D/G if that makes sence. Let me explain *clears throat* Well, D/Hr got me into the idea that Draco could possibly nice (which I am opposed to now). So since I thought Draco could be nice, I went and fell in love with Redeemed!Draco. Then I read one fic or another where it didn't say who he was in love with (it was just a Gryffindor) and in the end it was Ginny. I can't remember for the life of me what the fic was called, or who wrote it but there you go. Then I read Serpent's Bride and have been in love with the pair since!

personally, i haven't really thought of any movie aside from this old movie called The Way We Were which starred Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford. Well, i don't think Ginny looks like Barbra Streisand but I've always somehow thought of Draco looking like a young Robert Redford... Another movie that comes to mind is "Grease". Hehe, they just...Sandy's a blond but who cares???

I was thinking of having them on his broom, around midnight - full moon kind of thing - full of fluff. Have to admit it, I'm a fluffer at heart, hate things without a happy ending, just bums me out completely.

Nice question. Let's see, Cassie Claire had a good description of Draco's scent in thr trilogy but where I do not know. Point is, her description of it sounded very appealing. I think Draco is immaculate in his scent like he is about his style, so I'm not surprised if he puts on some cologne. I think Draco sounds Fresh, in a cold way. If that makes any sense. It's easier if I could contrast his scent to like Harry or someone.

How many of you are diehard D/G-ers? Can you see them with anyone else?

I guess I can be pretty diehard in fanon. D/G is the only thing I can read in general levels. I can see Ginny with a lot of people and I've enjoyed a lot of fics where she is with others beside Draco. Draco, like whoever said above, is hard for me to see with other people. I'm really indifferent for anyone to be with Draco besides Ginny. Still, unless the fic is extremely well written, I can't stand other pairings for Ginny, especially H/G. I mean I can see it and it's ok to read but it lacks the drama and it seems so fluffy to me. Yeah, sure, if it happens in Canon, hooray but in fanon, I stick to my D/G.

What kind of D/G do you prefer?

In most other fics, I like Post-Hogwarts but when it's a D/G fic, I like Hogwarts era for these too. I like angsty and dramatic fics with them and ones where they aren't fluffy. A perfect example is a fic like "Ginny Weasley thinks she's in love" by Msscribes. Yeah, D/G sex is great to read. I don't like Draco is adult and "reformed". Angsty, tortured young Draco is best in D/G for me.

What fic got you into D/G?

I don't know, I just started reading them after liking Draco in Draco Dormiens. Yeah, Draco Sinister helped but there were some on fanfiction.net that got me hooked.


Dudley/Ginny is not very appealing but I recently just read a chapter of Marcus Flin/Ginny. That was pretty in my head after remembering what he looks like in the movie.

I AM! Well, I can't stand reading H/G and D/Hr even though I admit that there is possibility that Harry will end up with Ginny in canon. But since there will not be Post-Hogwarts book I can safely imagine that somehow in the future D/G can exist unless, of course JKR killed one of the characters. I've just finished reading the Draco's Trilogy which I didn't dare to read at first because I thought it was a D/Hr...and I'm depressed now. It was an absolutely wonderful fic but I think I can die if it doesn't end up with D/G! *sigh*

Almost anything that's well written and has a good plot. The hillarious ones are preferable (and Draco doesn't have to be fluffy) but I kinda enjoy reading angsty fics although it usually ended up with me feeling depressed.

I've actually been reading more and more non-D/G, H/Hr fics so I can adjust myself to the horror of The Order of the Phenox. Though I WOULD love to see D/G more than any other ship. What kind of D/G do you prefer? At the moment hard core nasty angst. I guess it's because I don't want to be like any of the fluffers on fictionalley they get me so mad thinking that he's going to be good and basically be super-husband/dad who likes muggles and muggle lovers. Also Draco cannot be redeemed... grrr I dislike that one the most! Ginny can be anything but slutty, and I'm a happy camper!
