Lo....

We all know that JKR never writes what's happening on Ron and Hermione's birthdays, or what kind of presents Harry gives them, especially Hermione. Well, what do you think? As her birthday gets nearer, what do you think Harry gives her? It will be on Sept. 19!

If Harry REALLY likes Hermione, he'd give her something that she'll enjoy...... a kiss would be good. biggrin.gif

I think maybe in the later books JK can focus on those two birthdays but i'm looking forward to Hermione's more
Liz R.
I'd be hillerious if Harry got her something and Ron didn't. Especially if he tries to appologize and she's too busy hugging Harry to hear him or care.

Hermione birthday is Sept 19?....i didn't know that. and the reason why?...JRowing didn't mention Ron and Herm birthday...because it not important. It Harrys...that is important because HE IS ONE WHO WILL SAVE WIZARD WORLD..AND OURS. HE IS CHOSEN ONE... thumbup.gif

anywa...i think..Harry will gave Hermione for her birthday. Is...himself!! that is greatest gift of all. Hermione's True love.. heart.gif
harry loves hermione 1999
I have an idea... biggrin.gif

But I don't think it's appropriate to say it! innocent.gif

Yeah, I was thinking that too harryloveshermione1999! Hehe! I have a VERY corrupted mind! Heheh!

Umm.....I think he'll get her somehting she'll use alot, and somnething she'll treasure for her entire life! Yeah, I know it's a little far fetched, but hey, it's good to dream right? innocent.gif
KaiserDragon
Well we know Harry isn't imcompatant in giving presents out. In GoF he got Ron that hat and in OotP, Harry got Hermione that book that she said she loves. I think Harry can do something for her.
ponderingprefect
I agree, Harry is pretty thoughtful in what he gives her, but what I've noticed most is that she's even more thoughtful in what she gives him.

Facade
He will give her a book. That is what she loves , isn't it? Hermione is not one of those giggly girls that crave girly things. I know I am not. I would prefer a book.

Perhaps he could also sew her a bookmark. That would mean a lot to Hermione.
Zanarkand
Hmmm...what could Harry give Hermione for her birthday...well, I think anything that involves something she likes and has some sort of sentimental value would be great. I mean, a book is a great present and it is something that Hermione would like...but a book is more of a "friend" present, you know.

Here are a few random thoughts of possible presents. Hermione loves to read...Harry could try writing her a little story (hehe...bit mushy I know...but oh well, I'm a hopeless romantic). Or, he could buy her a book and then read it to her...that act alone is very sweet. Facade, sewing her a bookmark would be an awesome gift. Actually...anything involving sewing would be great. Hehe...sewing her a S.P.E.W. sweater...that would be awesome.

Now does Harry posess the abilities to do this stuff? I've no clue...but I'm sure if he put effort into anything he he tried to make her, she would love it. I believe, she just knowing he tried so hard to do something for her would be great enough present for her...even if it doesn't come out perfect.
draco_malfoys_luver
::happy sigh:: Yeah...

I was actually wondering, Harry's never really done anything for his birthday, and at the end of OotP Hermione said that they'd come and get him soon, do you think that maybe in the next book, there might be birthday festivities biggrin.gif ?

I know that's off topic and I'm sorry. But I had to ask....

yay- hermione's birthday makes me think about how fast my birthday's approaching! mine is on sept. 21st thumbup.gif the big 1-8! whoo-hoo, im finally an adult. but anyways, i think as the book progresses the bigger the gifts will be. it sucks that jkr never says what he gives her. only the things they give him.
Facade
I highly doubt that JKR will get into Hermione's or Ron's birthday festivities. Because even in OOTP , they didn't really go into Harry's birthday.

So we may never know what he might give her, except maybe on X-Mas.
Kalie
I wish we would get more insight on thier birthdays. The only time I heard Hermione's birthday mentioned in the series was PoA( when she said that her parents gave her extra money to buy an early birthday present for herself ). I wonder what Ron's birthday is, though? But, that is a bit off-topic. Nevermind, then.
ponderingprefect
Ron's Birthday is on March 1, JKR said it in an interview or...I found it at the Leaky Cauldron. I dont know if they're Birthdays really symbolize anything though. I mean it's cool that Harry's a Leo and that he's in Gryffindor and all. It's kind of fitting (but that was also just JKR's birthday). Can't really take much look into their birthdays, Ron's a pisces...weird...maybe b/c it's got something to do with fish and fish swim in families (he does have a big family). And let's see Hermione is a Virgo...that symbolizes the virgin right? Umm...I don't think they're birthdays mean anything, it's just as well. LOL, I'm not making much sense right now...lol.

Hey guys!

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to those all who will have them this month, and I hope JKR make a fest about Harry's birthday, and I know she will not make a b-day festivity about Ron or Hermione, that's only for the fics...^-^

I can't back this up, but I have a feeling that Harry's having to stay at the Dursleys once a year includes spending his birthday there. Just what I think. So no parties unless somebody slips the Dursleys a powerful Sleeping Draught.

ponderingprefect, there is a thread here somewhere that looks into the Astrology aspect of the trio's birthdays, and this topic is just one of the essays I plan to write.

Harry will most likely get her another book, like in OotP. He does put thought into his presents. Remember, he didn't just give her any book in OotP, he gave her a book that 'she had wanted for ages'. So he not only understood that Hermione would rather a book, he knew which book to get. So not only does he understand Hermione, he pays attention to her also. Go Harry!

I'm sorry, as cute and as funny as it may be, I don't see Harry sewing or knitting. Though it might make for a funny image :cough: Zanarkand :cough: tongue.gif whistling.gif

EDIT: This just occured to me. Harry would not (at this point) give Hermione a gift that he would have to make. To give someone a present you made yourself is a very telling gesture, and I do not think it would occur to Harry to do something like that.

That said, I can very much picture Hermione giving Harry something she had made, whilst keeping it practical. I can see her knitting Harry something. Maybe a Gryffindor scarf, something to put his glasses in, anything. Or socks. I would so love it if Hermione knitted Harry socks.
jackryan411
I also wish that JKR would write something for their birthdays. It's never mentioned...Ron's is March 1, by the way. I think Zanarkand's ideas would be the cutest (lol, the sweater would be nice), but I think books are the most realistic thing we can expect out of Harry.
Zanarkand
Hehe...it's really hard to go wrong when you make someone something...well unless you completely screw up on what you're making and the person you're giving the gift to demands perfection. But in those cases, it would be better to shop for that person.

Though in terms of what Harry would really do for Hermoine's birthday, I agree with you all and say that he would probably by her a book or something that would help her with her academicsc online2long.gif . I mean, to Harry, school is the most important thing to Hermione. Dumb git...he's never going to learn. rolleyes.gif

The whole idea of Harry making something for Hermione has completely sparked an idea for a comic strip...wahoo! I love this forum...no possible way to ever run out of ideas. thumbup.gif

Happy Birthday Hermione!!!

Had to get that out. You know, Hermione never tells Harry or Ron the EXACT date of her birthday. It's September- that's all they know. I'm pretty sure Harry gives Hermione something for Christmas...I just can't remember what.

Zanarkand- Love your new avie.
Zanarkand
According to the books themselves, Hermione never does tell them when her birthday is. Only thing mentioned to us, readers, was during PoA when she wanted to buy an owl. Though from what J.K. Rowling has said and from all the timelines and such made by The Harry Potter Lexicon and stuff from the TLC, we know that her birthday is on the 19th.

And I'm pretty sure the boys know when her birthday is...or at least Harry. Ron seems more like the type to forget. But I'm pretty sure Harry does get something for Hermione on her birthday, but J.K. Rowling never wanted to go into any detail about it. Though, unless sometime spectacular were to take place on her birthday, it doesn't really seem likely that J.K. Rowling would mention anything about it in the 6th and 7th book. But who knows...just have to wait and see.
E. C. R. Potter
JK Rowling said in one of her interviews that Harry does indeed get stuff for Hermione and Ron on their birthdays. Only that she doesn't have the literary space to devote any time to their birthdays. Of course, even if we didn't know Hermione and Ron's birthdays from JKR's interviews, we at least know that Hermione's birthday is in September because of PoA. No mention in canon when Ron's birthday is though.

Hey, today is the 19th! HAPPY BIRTHDAY HERMIONE!!!

Eric
jackryan411
Snort...by the way, I think Zanarkand's right (what else is new? whistling.gif ) When you make something for someone, you can't go wrong...unless you suck and that other person demands perfection. I wish JKR would devote literary space to what Harry gives Hermione at least... biggrin.gif
Facade
I don't think Hermione would mind if Harry knitted her a bookmark that holds a semblance to a 'wolly bladder'. Plus it would be perfect if he bought her the book and did the bookmark. That way if she hates the ugly bookmark then she at least has the book.

Youcan't go wrong. I hope Harry realizes that.
jackryan411
Yeah, Harry should do that! What do you think should be on the bookmark? A picture of him and Hermione snogging? Or maybe them riding on Buckbeak?
Facade
I think Harry lacks the skills of doing the intricate design of him and her snogging. Also it might freak her out a bit if he did do that. So I'm going for the Buckbeak picture.

It shows that he actually thought of a time when they worked together, only them( minus Buckbeak), and its a H/Hr moment.
KaiserDragon
Maybe of something more simple. Buckbeak would remind Harry of Sirius. Something like a picture of the two of them together.
jackryan411
Lol...I was just kidding about the snogging. At any rate...Buckbeak would be cute, but it would remind of Sirius, like Kaiser said. Hmmm...maybe Hermione clinging to him in the Forest with Grawp? (I'd say when the dementors were closing in, but that'd also remind him of Sirius?) Wait...I have a good idea. How about them walking? You know...like they did around the lake?
Facade
Probably a piece of toast. Something that will seem insignificant to the outside world but holds a deeper meaning between the two of them. This was the day after the GOF scene in which Hermione proved that she was loyal to Harry.

Very H/Hr!
Hermione's Twin
First, a happy belated birthday to Hermione, as it is the twentieth. Second, happy birthday to me biggrin.gif. Yep, today's my birthday!!! I'm 17. Also, happy (early) 18th birthday to danlover and happy 16th to Tom Felton.

Okay, back on topic. With how Harry currently thinks of Hermione, he'd probably get her another book. She always wants a new one. But I'd love to see the bookmark. Great idea, Facade, about the piece of toast smile.gif . I love it.

Now, if my shippy side had its way, he'd give her a confession. I think it'd be really cute if he left notes all around for Hermione to follow until she reached the lake (or someplace romantic) and then he'd confess his feelings for her wub.gif.

Uh-oh, I'm getting one of those squee 'n sigh moments again.

Sigh...that would be so beautiful...lol, but I don't see it happening that way either. The piece of toast would be cute...and symbolize Hermione's loyalty to him.
Zanarkand
Hehe...just a Harry's confession to Hermione would make me happy. Though, knowing Harry...he'd stumble over every other word and fidget like crazy. He'd ramble...yep yep...ramble like crazy before he finally gets to the final "three words" that she's been waiting to hear from him. I don't know why, but that seems just as romantic as Harry getting down on one knee and reciting some sort of Shakespearian monologue. Though, I doubt Harry would do something like that...he's the more of the stumble over words type. Or maybe, he could try to recite some sort of monologue and then stumble over his words...hehe...that be romantic too.
Hermione's Twin
Yeah, I highly doubt it'd go that way too. But my shippy side can dream smile.gif.
Aredhel
I can see it now...them walking by the lake on their usual walks...he faces her and starts to talk but he blushes deeply...and then her female intuition kicks in and they lean in for a kiss. ::sigh::

My shippy side is getting the better of me!!

Well, I think JK would do something like have Harry give her something that'll help her academically. Wouldn't it be great if gave her broomstick lessons? *note: I read a fic on PK about that but I forgot the title. Anyone know? Anyway, that would be cute!!
Facade
There are so much stories in which Hermione rides Harry's broomstick and gets lessons from him.

*blinks* And in more ways than one. Okay I'm sorry, I need to get my mind out of the gutter.
Anazecria
Yes, I have a trailer in that gutter. Smores? tongue.gif

I was going to say something relevant....wait....ah yes...yes, I always pictured a confession from Harry as awkward, and bumbling. But since Hermione always knows what he is thinking.....she can translate. smile.gif

And a bumbling confession is just as good as a Shakesperian (spelling?) monologue, if not better. The bumbling keeps it humble. Humble Bumble.

I so didn't get enough sleep this morning. *shakes head* Just ignore me.
Facade
I think the stumbling over his words would be very fluffy and cute.Anazecria, you made sense so don't fret.

I mean I would so be turned off if Harry said in a monotone voice:

Hermione I like you. Go out with me now.

To this I would just groan in shame. huh.gif
KaiserDragon
How about speed talking?

HermionereallyIlikeyou.Willyoupleasegooutwithme?

I can imagine Harry doing that since he did that with Cho.
jackryan411
Or:

Wangoballwime?

Even if that was H/C, it was hilarious. I can see Harry stumbling over his words and Hermione interrupting him, but just leaning over and kissing him... biggrin.gif
KaiserDragon
Yeah, she wouldn't torture the poor guy. I could just imagine it... Emma would have a nice smile to match after that too...
Anazecria
QUOTE

Damn it, I'd torture the guy, the bumblings cute. tongue.gif But yes, Hermione wouldn't torture Harry, but she should. devil.gif Then maybe he won't be so clueless in future...

Millie, that rumour ain't confirmed. Wait and see. No point getting upset about these things. Yet.

And that house is right next to my trailer, we're neighbours! Drop by for tea sometime! That invite is extended to all my fellow gutter-people! Unless you prefer coffee, which is great too, I prefer coffee actually, but most people I know don't....*end rambling* Hooray for the gutter! huh.gif ... don't mind me...
Zanarkand
Hehe...cozy in the gutter...my girlfriend will love that biggrin.gif. Hmmm...another idea Harry could have for a birthday/Christmas present is to be second in command of S.P.E.W. I mean...Hermione was pretty much the second in command of the D.A., so Harry could do this for her. I mean, could you imagine how excited she would be? All those late nights knitting hats and socks with Harry...it's definitely an invitation for more than what either are probably bargaining for.

Hehe...any H/Hr director is awesome in my book. Though a thing that Chris Columbus should of really considered when it came to filming and grow kids is that, he should of done it in a chronological order or something close to it. What I mean is that, as the story progresses throughout the movie, the story progresses throughout the year, so it's only natural that the kids look older by the end of the movie than they do at the begining of it.

Here are two very clear examples of "what in the world...you shrunk!":
*Harry during his Quidditch match in SS/PS...looks a heck of a lot older than he does throughout the rest of the movie. I mean...just compare the way he looked when he was holding the snitch and smiling towards the crowd and then the scene directly after when he, Ron, and Hermione were walking with Hagrid. I looks a lot younger!
*Draco Malfoy in general during CoS. He looked a lot more mature during his appearance in Flourish & Blotts than he did during the rest of movie (well maybe except for the Quidditch game and the whole thing about Mudbloods)...but compared to that of the scene when Harry and Ron took the polyjuice potion and were talking with Malfoy in the Slytherin common room...yeah, he shrunk too. Actually, if you listen closely...his voice sounds different too. Like in the Flourish & Blotts scene, his voice was pretty deep, but in the Slytherin common room scene...it almost sounded like he was trying to make his voice sound deeper than it really was (and even his attempt didn't really match the low pitch he had in the Flourish and Blott scene).

Anyways...now that I've completely confused myself and everyone else here...I'm going to stop rambling.

I just had a wonderful image of Harry knitting some socks. I would personally love my boyfriend to do that.

And it would be nice if Harry got to be officially second in command of SPEW. But he is kind of already, isn't he? Like isn't he secretary or something? I forgot...

And Millie, just *lol*@ your post. A bit forward aren't you?
Anazecria
All three of me are crap at knitting. *shrugs* I always found the knitting thing odd. I know what Hermione was trying to do with Harry, but did she seriously think a boy would want to spend his time knitting?
Zanarkand

And I do believe we are straying a bit too far off-topic.

Well think about this way...we may travel soooooooooooooo far off-topic that we'll travel around the world and wind up where we go started. Yeah...that made a lot of logical sense.

Hermione is also new at the whole "liking the boy and wanting to spend time with him" thing, so she probably doesn't actually realize that Harry doesn't have any interest in knitting. Well...we don't officially know that, but during OotP, he did have other things on his mind. The two will mature and I know the two will stumble across some common ground when it comes to knitting. Hehe...knitting socks for their first baby sounds really cute (I know a mom could never have enough socks for her first-born). But yeah...I think we're still somewhat off topic.

KaiserDragon
Knitting is a bit odd. Studying not so much, but would you really spend time knitting if you're a guy? It's a bit OT cause Hermione's birthday has come and gone. We should talk about what might happen for Christmas!

Yeah, Hermione is new at that whole thing...I'm glad that Harry didn't hurt her feelings or anything...she was disappointed and all, but at least he didn't insult her knitting or anything. I've never knitted in my life, but oh well....
karenkate_kitty
of course he didn't insult her.... unlike someone i know who knows perfectly well that Hermione is passionate about something and he'd make fun of the whole thing
