I only first read the Harry Potter books in Janurary this year. I'd always dismissed Harry Potter as a "kids" thing, but I saw the first movie at a friends house, went with her to see the second movie and I was hooked! After leaving the cinema, I dragged her into the nearest Dymocks to buy all 4 books Now I'm an even bigger fan then she is
I like Harry and Hermione because.......well.....it just seems right. They complement and need each other. If I had to pick a fav H/Hr song, I'd probably say "Lost Without You", by Delta Goodrem. I think it really describes how each would feel without the other

Here I go. One day I was hanging out with my friend, I won't say his name, and he was taking care of the cats naxt door because the owner was away.I went with him into the house and to my surprise he pulls out a book. He never reads, but for some reason he took out a book called Harry potter and the Prisoner of Askabon. I had never read a Harry Potter book before. He would read the books out loud to the cats and it would quite them, all ten of them. So he read out loud to the cats every day and every day I would come and liston. When he got to the chapter when they take a ride on buckbeak, he asked me if I tought they would get together. That made me think about all the moments they shared and two seconds laterI definatly did, so we placed bets on when they would hook up.

I got into the H/Hr ship thanks to Mena Baines. I never liked the R/Hr. ship at all, but "Hermione's World" is what drew me to ship H/Hr. We're not vastly out numbered acctually. In a recent pole H/Hr was found to be the MOST COMMON ship, closely followed by the slash ship H/D. R/Hr. came in 5TH.

How I got into H/H
When I first read the books in 1999, PoA had just come out. I was only 11, so I didn’t really think much into it, but I always thought that H/H would be perfect. They just kind of clicked. When Gof came out, it kind of confirmed it to me, but since none of my friends read HP, I had never talked about it. But one day I was talking to someone and the topic of who Harry/Hermione/Ron liked came up. She said Ron and Hermione would get together and I was really confused! I mean, sure it was obvious Ron liked Hermione, but Harry and Hermione- they were meant to be (':luv:') . Anyway, I was looking up something when I came across fanfiction.net, and got hooked on that. After a while I realised there might be more sites like that on the internet. So I looked it up, and I found a few more site, including this one. So I read some of the stories, and wanted to sign up, but hadn’t really found a good time to join in a coversation. Now seemed like a good time, so I did.

Most of you have already mentioned some of my reasons for H/H, so I won’t repeat them, but there are a few points I think are really good ones.
· The whole Molly Wealsley thing.
· Krum’s “She talks of you often” (Did you notice how that was followed immediately after by the big mystery involving Mr Crouch –a diversion?)
· The Kiss
· Hermione is the only girl that would suit Harry, and visa versa

Hello all! My name is Dominique (not my real name), I'm in my early twenties and I live in the Netherlands (which means you're gonna have to forgive me if I misspell something *g*). I was actually surprised to find myself a H/Hr 'shipper -- I entered the fandom in July 200th, right after the GoF release, and I was pretty neutral on the whole 'shipping thing for a loooong time. I thought that Ron liked Hermione, but she didn't really like him back, and I didn't much care about that aspect anyway, so...

I don't know what exactly made me fall in love with this pairing, but I can take an educated guess. I think it may have been those little moments in canon where Harry and Hermione just understand each other without speaking. I love those small scenes. I'm very much a non-fan of bickering as a sign of romantic interest (yugh! Worst. Cliché. Ever.) -- needless to say that Ron and Hermione's fights are neither entertaining nor interesting to me (I also don't think they're fun, and I also don't think Hermione is enjoying them).

So, um... here I am! And might I say that this is truly an amazing website? Really, really great . I'm not much of a D/G 'shipper (yet!), but I love H/Hr and L/J and who knows? Maybe in time, my inner Harry/Draco 'shipper will let me 'ship Draco/Ginny *g* (funnily enough, my inner H/D slasher gets along perfectly well with my inner H/Hr 'shipper).

There are times when bickering works to show one's concern for another(Inuyasha, anyone?) and times when it's to show that two people don't go well together. I think that Ron and Hermione fall int the latter category rather than the former...

I am into Harry/Hermione and daniel/Emma ship here is good reason why

1. First time they met in Train. When she is fixing harry's glasses. You can see that or read into line..that she trying to get him attention.

2. How they look at each other..(daniel and emma) in film and in books..(harry and Hermione). They can see though each other soul. Without talking.

3. How they interact. Hermione holding on to harry's arm..when she is scared. Harry is worried or in doult. She is the only one who is there to hold him..and asked him if "he is o.k" or "Be careful"

3. They are both loyal, caring, loving and brave.
4. They don't fight or agrued. Instread they prise or compliment on each other.
5. They flirt to each other w/out any rude and stupid comment.
6. They enjoy each other company and being comfortable with each other.
7. They are serious and having fun as the sametime.
8. They powerful wizard and witch of hogwarts and in real life too.

all in all Why i like Harry/Hermione or Daniel/Emma: because they can make beautiful-lovely-magic together. I wish..I have relationship like that..and it goes for rest of people who want to be in relationship.

Hi! I've seen this thread a while back and skipped it, cause I thought I have yet to formulate an answer that would make sense and would make a clear point why I like H/Hr. I don't think this is it, but I'm posting it anyway.

Let's see.. I'm 20 years old, a fresh grad, currently living my life as a professional bum. I'm from the Philippines. Anyone who's from the same island as I am?

Yeah, that's it. The angst that they have to live with and hopefully over come. I mean, the falling in love with your bestfriend thing is already prime angst material. Adding up to that one is the dillema of giving their feelings a chance and lossing the friendship that they have since they were 11 or denying it their whole life. That's pretty semi-traumatic. And I love angst. I do. I dunno why, but I do.

That would be my number one reason. The other would be, because Hermione is my favorite character and I would really really get upset if she ends up with Ron. Ron is ok. He's no boyfriend material yet, but even if he does kind of over come his insecurity, I still think that he and Hermione are just too different. Ron's an insensitive prat. He's relationship with Hermione is more on the loud, having fun one minute and arguing the next kind. And that just ins't healthy. Sure, it's sort of thrillingly romantic, because there's this whole making up thing to look forward to, but I doubt if there's anyone here who'd like to have that kind of stressful love life.

Harry on the other hand, may not always agree with Hermione, but he still respects her ideas and I think he does sort of look up to her. Their relationship is the quiet, I'll always be here for you type. And I think that's the best and most stable foundation towards a lasting and happy relationship. Gah, I sound like a marriage councilor! LOL

I am hoping that Harry and Hermione does end up with each other, but if they do not, I would accept any guy for Hermione, except for Ron. I think Draco would even be a better boyfried for Hermione, if he could just get past his anti-mudblood beliefs... but then again, that's just me.

My H/Hr song would be, "I've Got You Under My Skin" by Frank Sinatra. I could just hear Harry crooning this! LOL...

I guess that's it for now. Will post again if my muddled brain can finally come up with something sensible and coherent.

Hey...(purple mud)...I agree with you about if Hermione is not end up with Harry. I hope she will be with Draco. I rather have her with him..then Ron. I know Draco is nasty-git, but he have some soft side to him. at least he is not hot-temper-jealous-git, sure he is jealous of harry. He is not jumping down hermione thoat.

Um, I can give all the arguments I want that support H/Hr but the best reason I can give for why I love the idea of H/Hr? The best reason is that Harry & Hermione makes sense. They complement each other perfectly. They are equals. Together they can take on the world, and win. That should be a slogan. I'm pretty sure I borrowed that stuff about the world from a song.

Uh, i've been a H/Hr shipper since the very first time I read HP!
I love them 'cause they are so perfect for each other.
*They hardly ever argue (Unlike someone else!) when they do it's not about superficial (sp?) reasons.
*They respect each other.
*They know what the other is thinking. (Silent communication, already mentioned on this forum)
They are just great together!

Why do I like H/Hr?

Well, way back when, I used to like R/Hr. There was this fic, R/HR incidentally, that had a scene where Harry was under some influence of something and kissed Hermione. Though the writer didn't intend for it to be a romantic moment between Harry and Hermione and Hermione ended up with Ron at the end...I got me thinking.

Why do I find the idea of Harry and Hermione so appealing? Here I was, surrounded by a message board that supported R/Hr and I was seeing the light. I don't know what made me change, but I know that H/Hr actually gave me the warm fuzzies when R/Hr really didn't.

So I converted and read a whole bunch of H/Hr fics. Every well-written fic made me see that there's a pretty strong bond between Harry and Hermione. They dont argue as much. Sure, Harry gets a little peeved at Hermione and Hermione the same, but they are only human.

When you get down to it, the two really complement each other. Harry has brought out the rebellious side of Hermione and the brave fighter that she really is. Truthfully, if it hadn't been for Harry (and Ron to some extent) Hermione would always be buried in her books and not making a big difference at all like she has done throughout the books.

Then for Hermione, she sort of brings Harry back to earth. Harry can just act like himself with her (and Ron). She's the voice of reason (he starts hearing her voice in his head in OotP for goodness sakes!) and the person who's just constantly looking out for him...telling him to be careful and that he's a great wizard.

There's so much more! But a lot of it can't really be transferred into words...that's how good it is.

Ron's too tall for her.. it would never work! Ha ha ha.. j/k!

Because when Harry's mad at her, it brings her to tears and she pleads with him. When Ron's mad she just waits for it to blow over...
And I get fuzzy feelings just from reading a conversation between them, and i feel nothing when R/Hr talk or bicker.

But really, Ron *is* too tall for her.

For me, it's just an inner feeling! Sometimes I WISH I was a R/Hr because they have some STRONG arguments, but I can't go against the "gut" can I It's just something...that no symbolism or hints or facts could prove

H/HR have the kind of relationship that people love to read about and it is so common for people to relate to them. They wish JKR would make them a couple. I personally think however that she is not making them a couple because it would make it harder for her to write the books.

I like the together because they get on so much better. They never fight and they also complete each other's sentences. Oh and Hermione's voice is Harry's conscience. That's what convinced me to be a full-on H/Hr shipper. I read the books after seeing PS & COS movies...and when I first saw PS/SS, I said Harry's going to end up with Hermione.

Actually, has anyone ever read "The Greatest Scandal of Hogwarts History"? It's on FF.net.... it's H/G and I did actually vomit reading that. No joke.

That also happens to me. When I think of R/H I drop my books on the floor when I debate with a R/H shipper at school. H/G makes me sick and H/Hr feels right.

Hey guys, haven't been posting for a while . But it's good to be back.

I am a matchmaker. For 4 years, I have been H/Hr all the way. I don't know, there's just something about them that makes them unique (spelling?). I've been matchmaking for so long and this thing is very special to me. Not that I hate Ron.

I love H/Hr because I read the books and see the signs and see that that is what I want for myself. Once upon a time I thought I was looking for my Prince Charming, now I know I'm looking for my Harry Potter. Simple really.

Okay, reasons why I feel they should be together...

H/Hr came from similar backgrounds, both living with muggles, Harry's mother was muggleborn.

Hermione is always there for him and that to me shows real affection, dare I say, love for a person. (It's interesting to note that in POA despite the arguments happening within the Trio, Hermione still went (presumedly alone) to watch Harry play Quidditch, yet in OotP, Hermione didn't stay to watch Ron's big moment, but went off with Harry and Hagrid to visit Grawp).

Sorry for this, and it will sound a little stupid, but their pets. Hedwig seems comfortable with Hermione, and Crookshanks is very comfortable with Harry, he is always rubbing himself against Harry's legs, or settling in his lap. I love the part where Harry comes in after a detention with Umbridge in OotP and he is bathing his hand in murtlesap when Crookshanks rubs himself against Harry's legs and then jumps up into his lap and Harry begins to scratch the cat behind the ears, I just thought to myself 'Awww, how cute!'. It was almost as if Crookshanks was trying to comfort Harry. You don't see either pets having anything to do with Ron.

Despite what others might say, there IS an underlining 'something' between H/Hr, I could sense it at the beginning of the book when he first met them at Grimmauld Place, the way he was acting towards her and she with him, there was something there, something that maybe neither is truly aware of yet. As for the rest of OotP... need I say more???
