All right, as most of you know or don't, a bunch of PK mates are creating a new site with all sorts of features. To know more about that( in case you have been living under a rock), go visit the Idea! thread that is floating somewhere in this section.

Ok. The purpose of this thread is to gather as much reasons possible so it can add up to 101 when we are finished with it. Obviously not a single person can work out all 101, so this is why we need your talented minds to help us out.

I'll start this off by adding my reason. Please be sure to add a number next to the reason, so we can be sure of the count.

Anyway please help and thanks for reading.

My reason:


1] They both confide in each other, more so than any other person besides Ol' Bumblebee.

Ok. That was a sort of example to what you do when you add your reason. And a person can post as much as they can. So please go and help out.

And if two people post at the same time, simply change the count number when you edit your post.

2. Harry needs Hermione (JKR quote)

o.k here is my reason why?..H/Hr are perfect couple:

3. They loved, cared and support each other like no-other. when Harry's thinking Hermione is in Hospital wing frozen make him "sick" and Hermiones save Harry from falling...off his bloomstick and anything things.

4. They complimented on each other like..beautifully. Harry tell Hermione "I don't think that you are uply", and Hermione tell Harrys "of course, you are not bad kisser"

5. they can fall on one another without worrying that they will hit the ground...in other words, they can completly depend on one another

8. Harry and Hermione respect each other more than any other potential couple.

Ok, here's one of my reasons.

9. They are both each other's rocks. Ok, if that doesn't make sense.... Hermione is one of the only people that can keep Harry grounded and back to reality and even if Harry wants to fight it, he always knows that Hermione will be there for him. She has been since that beginning and he knows that she's always thinking of him and his best interest. And even though Harry messes up sometimes, Hermione knows that she can count on him and that he'll help and encourage her all the way.

11. They always stand by one another, even if it means risking their own life, or lying to someone they respect deeply.

27. They admit to each other when they are wrong.

this might be a bit silly...but I'm ill so I'm not thinking straight...

28. both names start with an H and if they got married ( hope so ) they would shared the same initiales for first and last name! Harry Potter and Hermione (Granger) Potter.

29. hermione's patronus is a otter, so if you put a P before that it turns to Potter!

30. hermione is always by harry's side even if she thinks it is not a good idea.

31. harry is very protective with hermione -- even if some kind of subconsciencly (is this word right? )

32. They do not have to change for each other, they can be themselves.

60. Hermione clings to Harry whenever she feels danger, even if Ron's around
61. Harry's already got those groves in his arm from all the times Hermione's grabbed him. It would be too much trouble for her to start over with someone new.

And if I may be so bold as to add to one of star22's
17. He is bewildered (synonym for bemused) that Hermione would think that Harry thinks she's ugly.

62. Any guy that will be linked to Hermione has to measure up to Harry.
63. Any girl who gets close to Harry has to measure up to Hermione.
64. They know the right things to say to each other.
65. Even if they disagree with each other's view they try to understand each other.
67. They both think the other isn't ugly.

OK people, for the moment I'm just collecting the reasons, but please, when you post, make sure your reason isn't already up here. For instance, the ugly thing has already come up three times. star22, you've been busy!

Don't worry about spelling or grammar, I'll sort it out. I'm also keeping a record of who said what, so when the list is finalised, everyone gets their credit. If several people say the same thing, their names will all go next to the same reason, in order of appearance.

OK people, we now have more than 101 reasons. But guess what? Keep em coming! I haven't read through the list thoroughly (it's 4 pages in Word) but I'm sure there will be overlapping reasons. (thanks for pointing out the "needs" one Sandra!) And it doesn't have to be 101 reasons. That's just a number. We really don't mind at all if the list is longer than that.

...a hand caught him by the shoulders, he heard Hermione shout "stupefy!" and the hand released him.

128 - In a way, Hermione stops Harry from acting as Voldemort, something I'm sure he's very grateful for.
Harry raised his wand but to his amazement Hermione seized his arm, "You can't hurt a baby!"

okay.. i think we got more than enough reason.. maybe this shouldn't be 101 reasons.... can you guys take the challenge and make it 1001?

131) Because we have over 101 reasons why they would make a good couple with people from all over the world supporting their cause...*that's a lot of love*

1001? That's easy for you to say, karenkate kitty, but right now going through the list, a lot of things are said twice or overlap (eg. the ugly quote has come up a few times, and star22 has said "because it's destiny" twice). Meanwhile I'm surprised that the troll has only been brought up once (I think).

If we tried for 1001, There would definitely be overlapping. And a list doesn't look very convincing when you have "because they look cute together." coming up every 10 reasons.

That said, we still want more reasons. Please make sure anything you want to add isn't already up here. I will make the list as long as it needs to be, but I'll be combining similar reasons. EDIT:Ack, I feel this has to be mentioned, where I need to combine 2 or more people's similar reasons, each person who suggestted it will be mentioned. It's not such a bad thing really. I think it's a good thing if several people can suggest 1 good reason.

I'll let people know how the final list is coming along either here, the Ideas2 thread, or in the upcoming chat this weekend, depending on how quickly this is done.

Miss420, I will mention reason 131 if we actually go over 101.

Reasons I'm adding:
132) Harry saved her from Millicent Bulstrode's headlock during the Duelling Club.
133) Harry knows Hermione has a "usual chair". (CoS)

Could you maybe start a new thread where all of the reasons are listed. It is hard to see what is already done. As well as having three pages, there is all the comment inbetween. Thanks.

Hmmm... I can do this right now, currently the list stands at 132 reasons, and 4 pages in Word. This is the complete list in order of appearance and only edited for some spelling and grammar. I'm not sure if there's a limit to post length, but if there is, I'm sure a Mod will take care of it. I'm too lazy to do much formatting right now. PM or email me with any queries.

just to add a bit on the #132: harry knows hermione has a usually chair and always notice when someone else sits there and he and hermione seemes to sit together a lot! they usually sit by each other side.

Good job in compiling a list, Nielle. We could do a lot of reworking on the list (credit going to whom, etc) when the time comes. As time goes on, points will tend to be restated or sound incredibly close to one another. Would it be possible to place the current list on your webpage, and have a link to the list in your sig? Kinda like how it is with the Top 10 Lists. (Hehe, we should be working on those too.) It'll save thread space and we can simply state to others to check out the link to see what has already been stated. As more points are made, you can update the list on your webpage. The decision is up to you because we'll be using your webspace. Hehe...4 pages in Word, that's pretty impressive. Anyways, thanks a bunch!
