Though a rule like that can easily be bypassed. It is going to be a slight pain to do so, but if PK wants everything to be proper, then we have to do it. Basically, the rule states that we can't quote PKers off of the PK network (includes forums, chats, etc.) However, the Top 10 Lists and the 101 Reasons Thread were created for the H/Hr fansite that we're working on. So what do we do? The idea is quite simple...we simply don't quote the lists and the 101 reasons from PK but from another entity. In otherwords, we ask those who have contributed to the Top 10 Lists and 101 Reasons to send us an email with the thoughts/opinions that they stated in the PK Threads. Hehe...did I lose anybody with my train of thought?
So...just say that that I contributed a Top 10 List for the H/Hr fansite and Nielle quoted that list off of one of the PK threads (with my permisson). According to the PK rules, that is illegal. So exactly how will Nielle get to use the list that I created? The only ways of really doing so, is for me to send her the list via email or copy-and-paste it into a chat that she and I may have a later time. And since Nielle and I use Yahoo Messenger to chat, that doesn't fall under PK territory. So if you really think about it, we're going to be relaying the same information to each other, but instead of using PK, we'll use email and outside chatting programs. And as long as we state that we are quoting PKers off of the PK network, it's no longer illegal.
It's the only way to make things legal, unless PK is willing to make an exception. Afterall the Top 10 Lists and the 101 Reasons Thread were created to benefit the H/Hr fansite. And in terms of giving credit out to those who contributed, instead of using their PK screen-names, we can just use their email-address. Hehe...I'm hoping I didn't sound too confusing. If you would like me to reiterate, please send me a PM and I'll do my best to explain it better.

Exactly. I would much prefer to stick to usernames.

No, actually, Nielle, you're right. We don't want to bash ships either (even subtly bash). This is just a list of reasons why H/Hr are the perfect/ideal couple. That's all I'm saying. It's all a difference of opinion on the ships, it's not a judgement of what ship's right or what ship's wrong.

That would be great, one of the best reasons is those that actually have definite canon support. Although if you are going to do that, add in your commentary and say how this quote relates to a reason why they are the perfect couple.
Some of the current reasons definitely have canon support. For example No. 147 that Beck (Harry/Hermione 4eva) just added. If it is ok with people, I can hunt down the references that backup their reason. If people can keep adding reasons with canon support, that would be brilliant too.

Unfortunately I can't decide on that. The list is being processed to go to the HOAF site through all these complications that we (the staff) have to go because it is against the rules to quote something from PK. You have to run through your suggestion to NAPPA, sweety.

We are cutting off those kind of reasons(the ones that bash on another ship) and if some are similar to another Nielle is combining them as one reason.

I actually meant that perhaps you should first code those reasons that you've got permission for. But if it's easy for you people to erase any reason --should its contributor refuse to have it on HOAF, then go ahead and code what you've got, huh? Or exclude those without permission, then add them later, when you get the respective contributors' consent.Personally, I don't think anyone would refuse having their thoughts put on HOAF.
