I'd really hate to add to the demand, but if someone can PM me the trilogy as well, I would be forever grateful. I had the link to the Schnoogle archive in my Bookmarks for the longest time, waiting for me to get un-busy enough to read it, and low and behold, as soon as I click on it, the trilogy is no longer there! I've been desperate to find it ever since! thanks so much to whoever responds to this! I'll be in your debt!!!

Cassie Claire
did plagiarize. All of her witty dialogue was stolen from shows like Buffy, but that wasn't got her kicked off, it was lifting an entire scene pretty close to verbatim from Pamela Dean.
I entered the HP fandom after all this had gone down, but fanhistory.com
has a basic timeline of the story. For the whole story in detail, check these out:
Part 1,
2,
3,
4,
5 , and
6.
Frankly, I wouldn't have liked the stories if they hadn't been plaigarized. Draco was hideously out of character, and I just couldn't buy the development she used to make him act that way.
The whole thing was
epic. I'm sorry I missed it. Drama and a big bucket of popcorn makes my night.

Exactly! I've read some pretty 'great stuff' by people who knew the whole story and I am appalled that anyone would want to read that rubbish.
Now she's a published author!
Wonder how much is REALLY hers...
Sickening.

I read the first chapter online. It's hardly anything that stands out. She wrote
better when she was stealing all her witty pieces from other people.

Hah, I've been looking to read the last few chapters of Draco Veritas, but I think I will just have to give up. Honestly though, Draco Sinster was the only good one. The first and third were kind of boring I found.

What they did to her is not fair at all.
I put a scene in one of my ff that was equal to the opening scene of Lost in Translation but it was done consciously as a standing ovation for that movie!
And when Tarantino puts references to other movies in his own movies?!? (Kill Bill IS inspired to several Kung Fu movies, some scenes are quite equal, to underline the appreciation of the reference and to make the watcher of the movie COMPLETELY AWARE OF IT! Yes, they're kind of obviously shown...)
That's not plagiarism, is just putting bits of things you liked into your works, because this things are part of you and are part of your happiness!

it is definitely not a h/hr fic. even though they are together till the end. you have to take a microscope to search for some solid h/hr goodness.
read it and you will ask yourself why is it not h/draco ? No there is no slash, and neither do i read slash but after reading it, i felt like asking - why is there no slash ? bec honestly that is the only thing missing from h/d 'friendship'
i'm actually a huge fan of dry sarcastic humour. and unfortunately it is very hard to come by. so i like the trilogy ONLY for that reason. i absolutely love draco's lines. yes, draco is very OOC (as OOC as you can get) and yes, most of the lines are picked up from various shows. but to read pages and pages of dry humour ..... hmmmmm..... no wonder i loved the fic
so for ppl who are going to attempt reading it, i would say throw out all your pre-set ideas about harry, hermione, draco, ron and ginny and also of all the pairings and ships you support. just read it as a story, seperate from the HP universe. just assume it is a co-incidence that the characters have similar names to HP. only then can you enjoy it.....

Ooooh, I've read Draco Dormiens (and enjoyed it, despite the OOCness and... other things) and was JUST getting to the Draco/Ginny goodness in Draco Sinister when my computer fatally died and I forever lost the lovely miraculous link that I had to it! (Or maybe it just got taken down. There is a possibility.)
Could somebody give me Draco Sinister and Draco Veritas? Please?

hey everyone! i read the trilogy a couple years back and the whole series is absolutely wonderful. i wanted to revisit the trilogy but found that all of the stories have been removed, so i entered in a similar quest--and i finally found them. you will need to google the line
"If Draco and Harry are Magids...why hasn't Harry shown any sign of it? And why didn't Draco show any sign of it until now?"
and a word document of the entire trilogy will show up
enjoy!

Although I enjoyed the series, I read the collection of evidence against Cassandra Claire. It was blatantly obvious that she was using entire dialogue scenes and excerpts without crediting the original creator. Her stories were very well written, but nonetheless, much of the writing was not her original idea. I do not believe that it is anyone’s fault in the removal of the Draco Trilogy, not even Cassandra Claire’s because she wanted to entertain her audience.
The story cannot be accessed anymore, so it would probably be best remove the link.
We understand but we won't remove it nor this rec thread. That link might prove useful sometime.

I give Cassie the benefit of the doubt. She had been writing Draco Dormiens (DD) in the early days of HP fanfic writing when there were little standards set yet. However, there's been enough talk on this thread about whether she had plagiarized or not, unwittingly or otherwise.
Anyways, I was going over the
Best H/H First Kiss scene in fanfic and
What's your H/H bible? discussions. DD was mentioned quite a few times in there.
QUOTE(PinkButterflies @ Jan 27 2004, 07:15 AM)

The best H/Hr kiss for me is at the end of
Draco Dormiens. I just loved the scene. I'm not a big fan of fluff (and of course the Draco Trilogy is far from being that), but that scene made me feel all warm and gooey. I was grinning like an idiot. And it was so cute that the kiss is what made Harry's Magid powers start working. That whole scene always sticks out in my memory as one of the best. Here's the link in case you haven't read it yet.
Cassandra Claire Author PageAnd here's a preview...
Click on the quote box's arrow to read that DD scene.
I'll be editing this post to add more mentions of DD. See, I've been doing that for other stories named in those discussions.

Also, DD had a role in how the Harry/Hermione ship became known as the
"Pumpkin Pie".
EDITED as promised.

2. The Draco Trilogy - Not sure if this counts as H/Hr, but these three are among my favorites ever. I may have to go back and reread...and I love the Draco overload, he's one of my favorite characters that JKR has so graciously created for us to play with. Like one of the previous posters, I secretly nurse a love for Draco/Hermione because of TDT. And now I'm off to stone myself, or perhaps just sweat myself of all the impurities.

Despite the ominious name, the Draco Series by Cassandra Claire (now an actual author) is fantastic.
