Hermione's Twin
Sep 27 2003, 04:02 PM
Hey everyone!
Something interesting happened to me the other day while I was riding on the bus back from a football game (that's American football, BTW). I was talking to one of my friends about message boarding

and I told her that I go on HP message boards all the time. I then told her it was a shipping message board and then asked who she ships. Unfortunately, she's like my other friends and ships R/Hr

, but hey, everyone has their opinions.
So, what's the point to this babbling? I actually talked to her about why

. She's my only friend that has read HP more than once. I had to get her opinion. She ending up telling me that, even though she hates it being her reason, it's obvious. She told me to look at Ron's crush on Hermione. My reply was, "Okay, Ron's got a crush on Hermione, everyone knows that. But do you think Hermione likes him back?"
She said no

.
Then, she said that Harry would end up with Luna

. I shook my head and told her that the scene between Harry and Luna at the end of the book just cemented their friendship.
"Ohhhhhh," she said. "I believe that."
Sadly, the bus ride ended and we had to get off. But before I went home, I said that when we have more time, I'd give her some juicy H/Hr moments that could make her change the way she sees things

.
Here's where you guys come in....I need the most convincing H/Hr moments throughout the series that most people forget. C'mon, I know you guys know 'em. I could use a little help because I can forget the tiny cute things. So HELP!

Just read through some of the posts on here and it should help. Harry and Ron's fight. The Hogsmeade thing in third year. The hug in the 1st book. The post-kiss scene. The hippogryph symolism. Theres too many to list and go into detail over and my sister is wanting me off the computer now

Love Millie
p.s. I'm sure someone else will elaborate.

Theres alot of great moments all around actually, the boards, all kinds of things imo. But i stopped being a converter before OotP, nowadays i rather just let them be r/hrs so i can taunt them to high hell the day we claim victory.

Same here Stncold. Though check out the Pumpkins Army section. There are so much good essays there that illustrate some real H/Hr moments and they go into detail.
I hope I helped you out...

oh there's way too many, just tell her to reread all the books again...

...I'm sure she'll see it...
hihi...but there are certain cute moments that just jump out...
Troll scene
"the moment" in PS/SS
The passage in CoS when Harry and Hermione show their "connection" I think it was when they were trying to decipher the diary
PoA...the entire book...
GoF, the Veela scene in the beginning.
Skip to the toast scene followed by the walk around the lake...
The accio charm practices
The Yule Ball scene "jaw dropping..."
Read all that lovely propaganda, courtesy to Rita Skeeter...
Read all the parts when Harry and Hermione defend/ comfort Hagrid..."just oozes mental connection..."
"Hermione talks about you very often..." Krum....oh lovely lovely scene....
KISS at king cross
OotP: the entire book...so many cute H/Hr moments....

There are too many H/Hr moments to take into account and everyone here has already listed great sources for finding them. Though, the only thing you need to be sure is to not overwhelming your friend with everything at one time. You know, let her think through every moment and see if she sees things the H/Hr way and such. Relaying information isn't hard...actually convincing them with what you have can be hard sometimes. I guess it does depend on your friend and how open-minded your friend is. I wish you the best of luck...it's always great to convert an R/Hr to H/Hr

The most concrete place where we offer both canon evidence and reasonable interpetation of the books is in the Pumpkin Pie Army Essay section. Just have your friend read a couple of them. Madmike and Kalie are a couple you might want to recommend!

The best thing you could probably do is just look at all the essays here (and believe me, they're brilliant) and all of our posts...so many to choose from...print them out, highlight them, and you'll probably have all the evidence you need in about a 100 page booklet.

And I'm not joking either. That's why I love this place, everyone comes up with some thing new and valid.

yes they do..... one thing though.... tell your friend to be keen if ever she's going to read the books again..... I guess she's convinced of the R/Hr because of Ron's too obvious crush on hermione but let truth be told this is so one sided..... Tell her to focus on Hermione's reactions towards Harry and if she's reading OotP tell her to pay attention to all the events.... because almost all of them lead to H/Hr.....

The
HMS Harmony file. Over a hundred pages of H/Hr reasons, moments, rebuttals, etc.
I read it and came out of it a more resolute believer in H/Hr, if that is actually possible.

Man, I love friends like that!
But yeah, the essays here are brilliant, and if your friend really is open-minded, she will see all the logical reasons behind H/Hr. She'll soon be joining us here on the ship of Pumpkin Pie!!!

Go the PA essay forum...Romulus Lupin, Mad Eyed Mike, and Athena could convince practically any open-minded person. Your friend reads those essays, she'll be wondering why the heck she ever thought R/Hr....

everyone is right!!

Go to PA and show your friend. IT'll show her that it's Ron--->Hermione...
and that its Harry<--->Hermione

Shoot...and I was just talking to her not too long ago. I tried to convince her to visit us here and check us out to see what we have to say. But, respecting her opinion (even though I don't agree with it), I also told her to check out Sugar Quill to see if she likes what they have to say better. I hope not...

Yep, I officially call us OBHPF (One Big Happy Pumpkin Family)...yep, she comes on her with an open mind, she'll leave with a closed mind (of H/Hr) and laugh that she ever thought that R/Hr could happen.

I'm working on it. She's a very busy person and doesn't get home often. And if she's home she doesn't get on her computer that much. No leisure life for her.
I like your idea
Jack. My pitch to her would be "Join the One Big Happy Pumpkin Family. We'll give you pie."
draco_malfoys_luver
Sep 29 2003, 05:50 PM
OBHPF, that could also be One Big Happy Potter Family... hmmm....
No, I don't have red hair either... well... ok fine.
So I have a few unfortunate natural streaks of red, and the rest of my hair is just a blondey-brown... ::ponders:: Is it possible that both Draco and Ron impregnated Hermione? And then put me up for adoption? (so it's not possible!!! who cares?!?!?!)
::ponders more:: ::shudders::
EEEEEWWW!! That would mean that my father (one of) is also my luver....

Yes, ew. Ew indeed. But that does, however, remind me of a quote a foul mouthed friend of mine once uttered (or maybe I said it):
| QUOTE |
| Incest is best, the game the whole family can play! |

Anywhoo... I have a very good idea that may aid you in convincing your sadly mistaken friend. Instead of using all the well thought out, beautifully written and planned articles, why not CAPS her to death? Simply send several emails with the following lines:
WhAt IZZZZ Wrong W/ U?!?!?!?! Jesus McChrist, Are UU That BLINDDDD!!!?!?!?!11//1!?!? Harry and Hermione are the ONLY GOOD. They Are the SoUl GoOd!!! Don't be a DUNDERHEAD, you Haberdasher, you rogue you!!!!!! ArGGgGgGg!!!!11111
That should be convincing enough.
PS: Please, please don't take the above seriously.

We are good, we are light, we are all that is right.
I really hope your friend makes the right choice (okay, the right choice to us at least) and comes to our side. There are good points to either romance, but I personally contend (and I'm not biased...) that we have better points. H/H points are contained in these forums, in fanfiction, and, of course, in the incredible essays. I see a lot of strong-arming and forceful yelling from certain R/H sites...
But I guess we do it too...
But my main point is that we, as H/hers, try to be open to all areas of thought. Very rarely have I seen a H/Her try to get their point across by telling someone they're absurb or stupid for thinking a certain way. That's why I never visit Sugar Quill. Too militant.
Oh but that's just IMO.

I'm starting to blush

reading all of this.
I saw my friend for a short while today, but we were too busy talking another friend who's starting to get on our nerves. And yes, that other friend is also a R/Hr shipper, but she's the type to go along with the "obvious." If I could have spent more time with my friend today, H/Hr surely would have come up. I've been flipping through OotP and finding so many cute things to talk about. *Sigh* She'll come here, even if I have to drag her away from her tennis practices

Yep...my brother's too convinced in R/Hr. And whenever I start talking about love and all, he always says, "You're 14 years old! You don't know what love means and is!" I can always say, "Neither do you, you're only 13." But I can't really make the love, trust, compassion argument which is one of our strongest ones.

Hey guys.
Well, I had another chance tonight--another football game, meaning another bus ride

. My friend and I didn't talk much on the way there because we were way to busy as we're both band officers. I was going to talk to her on the way back, but the entire band had to leave right after our halftime show. A couple of our majorettes got seriously sick and one had an asthma attack and fainted

. We think she's okay, but she's in the hospital right now. No one talked much on the ride back home and so my plans to bring my friend here have been thwarted again. But hey, when something serious happens, you don't start talking about Harry Potter.
