This thread is for all of those who are curious about D/G and want to know what it's all about without hunting through pages and pages of recommendations to find something good.

Fanfics that can be recommended in this thread must be D/G centric and they must be those which you think would be good for a first-time reader of Draco/Ginny fanfiction. We all have our favourites, but let's make it easier for the ickle firsties by linking them to the fanfics we think best capture the romance and life of our favourite ship and would illustrate to new readers what is so great about Draco/Ginny.

Anyone may recommend a fic in this thread, but it would be really awesome if you could add the recommendation first to the recs board we have here at portkey, and then add the link to that page in this thread. It might seem complicated but having it in the recommendation board opens it to an even wider audience, and we all want more people to share in lovely D/G goodness.

If you want to, though, you can make a comment here in this thread on why you think your recommended fic would be good for a first time D/G reader.

Misconceptions, by Heart's Cadence.

What I liked about it?/why I think it would be good for a first-time reader to read. (Optional): This is one of the first D/G fanfics I read and really captures a lot of what Draco/Ginny is. There's humour, romance, snark, drama, angst, and all that wonderful D/G goodness you just have to love. Heart's Cadence is an excellent writer and it is always a pleasure to read her fics. I recommend all her fics to anyone wanting to get a feel for D/G.

Lemondrop Conspiracy, by Lirie Halliwell

What I liked about it?/Why I think it would be good for a first-time reader of D/G: It is a one-shot, so it's not like you have to plough through chapters and chapters to decide whether you like it or not. The characters are well-written, the plot itself is hilarious, and it does the pairing justice enough to be a good starting point for anyone looking to read D/G.

Over Time: First Friends, by Mynuet.

What I liked about it?/why I think it would be good for a first-time reader to read. Mynuet is one of the best writers in the fandom, and this fic in particular showcases her talents to great effect. Her Draco is sexy but never OOC, while her Ginny gives as good as she gets. The plot moves along at a great pace, the writing is flawless, and the snark will keep you in stitches the entire time. Seriously, I will never stop coming back to this fic whenever I need something to make me laugh without making me want to vomit.
