CASE 1: Do you simply wish to read or add to an existing recommendation?
Perhaps add your own rave reviews or constructive criticisms? Maybe you're the author, and would like to post ___ (take your pick: new URLs, thank you's, replies to your readers, teasers, alerts of chapter updates or sequels)?

THEN reply to the story's recommendation thread.
->Use our Recs Engine -> Click on the FicName
-> Click on the "Fic Discussion Forum" link.
These will take you to the story's thread here in the Recommendations forum. You may reply to threads here, but you cannot open a new one.



CASE 2: Do you want to recommend a story?
THEN please do the following:

STEP 1. Ensure that the fic you have in mind complies with this forum's criteria (in Part II of this post).

STEP 2. (NICE TO DO) Verify that the story was not yet recommended here, by searching for it in the Recs Search Engine.

If you are recommending a sequel or ficlet from an already-recommended series/universe, then please take note of the series' "Series ID Number". You will need it in Step 3.

STEP 3. If the fic meets BOTH steps 1 & 2, then do include it in this forum! Fill up the recommendation template by hitting the Engine's "Add New Rec" link, on the left margin.

Part II - CRITERIA for Draco / Ginny Fanfic Recommendations as of 10Jan2004
*Recommendations Criteria are much less stringent than the Fic Hosting Criteria

1. Exposure Given to Draco/Ginny ship:
The story has to give substantial exposure to the Draco/Ginny pairing. Say, there ought to be some Draco/Ginny moment in many chapters, including the final chapter. "Moment" means a scene that will make the Draco/Ginny shipper go "squeeeee!", even if they're not yet dating at that point. But they must have gotten together by the story or series' end. See item #2 below.

2. SHIP STATUS AT STORY'S END:
Draco & Ginny must be together by the end of the story. You may endorse a work in progress, as long as you are 90% sure it will end in D/G. Please don't post a fic whose author has not even hinted at a possibility of D/G.
If despite all early indications, the story ends with *gasp!* another pairing, then kindly post a notice on THIS thread. The Mods will then move or delete the recommendation.

3. CHARACTER DEATHS:
We do not want fics where either Draco or Ginny dies, then the other moves on by getting together with another person.

4. ‘WARNINGS’ Field:
Do indicate the following in the Warnings field of the Recommendation Template.
a. Slash or threesome or moresome. "Slash" means male/male or female/female pairings.
b. Violent or disturbing scenes, like rape, torture or child abuse. Kindly specify if the scenes are mild or graphic.
c. Strong religious overtones. See, Portkeymates come from different religions.

5. ALL RATINGS ALLOWED - *and all the smut-fiends rejoiced* But do indicate the rating.

6. OTHER SHIPS IN STORY:

ALLOWED:
--Hermione may be paired with other people, preferably Harry, Ron, or Draco. (Not all at the same time, though!) Harry may be paired with other ladies. But these anti-Portkey ships will be allowed only if ALL of the following conditions are met:
----Their presence must be very clearly noted in the recommendation's "Other Ships" field;
----They are given minimal exposure in the story. Their scenes are few, short, and far between;
----They have NO drawn out adult scenes; AND
----They do not contradict the "NOT ALLOWED" items below.

NOT ALLOWED:
--Stories that give substantial exposures to, or make explicit mentions of, or end in:
=>ships that go against Harry / Hermione, except for what's allowed above.
=>ships that go against Lily / James
--Stories that contradict Lily and James as being Harry's parents.
--Romance and/or Sex between a student and a teacher, or a minor and an adult.** (More details here)
--Pairings involving a non-human being
--Incest

There's one more question I'd like to address here:

Can we recommend stories that feature, but do not center on, Draco/Ginny?

Yes, but those stories must give substantial exposure to the Draco/Ginny pairing. They must comply with the "2. Other Ships In Story" item in the above criteria.
For example, Love is a Battlefield and Joining of the Three have Harry/Hermione as the primary ship, but they both have plenty of Draco/Ginny scenes. In both these stories, Hermione was involved with another guy. But that's okay, since her past relationships were mentioned only briefly.
