The first D/G fic that I remember is Dragon and Angel. That story blew me away actually. Look for it on Portkey search if you havent read it. Infact i must re-read that..
I got turned off of that story beacuse I seemed to go to fast for my liking. It was like one moment they where talking and the next they where in bed together. Does it get any better?
(Sorry sort of

)

really? wow I thought it was well paced.
It wasnt quick in my recollection. hmmmm. What you need to remember is that in the story they have alot of history [ie Drake + Angel] so ummm, yeah I'd read it the whole way through

I think that my first D/G story is.... Gryffindor Gone Slytherin. That story got influenced me to read more D/G stories. I loved how Draco was all jealous there.

I first started off as a D/Hr fan but soon found Draco and Ginny- thank god

.
My fist D/G was The Dangers of Boredom by Heart's Cadence at ff.net. She has to be one of the best writers ever! I love all of her stories

THREAD REVIVAL TIME!
Lol, now that I have your attention, and since we have a few new faces in the boards, it's nice to get this going again.
I already posted in the last thread, but here we go again. My first D/G fic I read was actually a challenge on this very subboard in the "Draco and Ginny are in detention" thread. It was short, fun, and caught my attention. I always thought it was Draco Sinister by Cassie Claire, but after reading a few of the old threads on here I discovered it was in fact a simple little one-shot. So there you go.
Oh, and I'd just like to say that Heart's Cadence is one of my all time favourite D/G authors, and if you haven't read her stuff then DO!!
I think it would be nice if we could put links to them too.
http://talk.portkey.org/index.php?showtopic=11761That's the link to the little one-shot that got me into D/G.

You know, I'm not really quite sure how I got onto fanfiction in the first place -- though I'm thinking it was probably while googling some HP information one random afternoon.
Sooo I can't really remember what my first fic was, but I DO know that LadyRhiyana and Cassandra Claire are the two authors I've been reading the longest (I'm pretty sure about this). So it's a toss-up, really, though both are equally excellent writers.

I think the first time I got into fanfiction was in 2005 right here on Portkey. I used to have this site saved in the H/Hr forums, so I would always skip the front fanfiction page straight to the forums.
I think I must have lost the link sometime though, cause I had to go to the front page once. I remember seeing something like 'Harry Potter and the _____" (Don't remember the title of the fic now), and thought to myself, "Oh wow, is this like news on the new HP book? COOL" (I was very naive back then, hehe).
In any case I clicked on the link and was taken to the first page of someone's fanfiction. Me being the slightly ditsy person I am didn't take much notice of disclaimers or anything else, and started reading. I was amazed (and surprised by how different JKR's style had gotten), and then right at the end I saw an a/n note that said "PLEASE REVIEW"
Then I was just like, "hold on a minute....". After a while it clicked to me that this was not a snippet of the upcoming Harry Potter book, but was in fact someone else writing something based on HP. I never knew what fanfiction was before that day, and so it was a rather interesting experience for me. I did end up reading most of that fanfic, but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was now. I don't even remember what it was about O_o
Oh, and to get back on topic (says the mod to herself, ahah) does LadyRhiyana write on portkey, FFnet, schnoogle, etc? I wouldn't mind having a read of something if she is that good.

http://www.fanfiction.net/~LadyRhiyanaShe's truly fantastic -- she writes the way I wish I could write.

Read
Unforgiven first for heavy D/G action.
Footprints is great too, although it has less blatant D/G action. But it really delves into Draco's psyche and Slytherin House machinations.
All of her stuff is very romantic in a subtle way. Lots of politicking and intrigue going on. So be warned, it's rather more heavy than Claire.

The first D/G fic I ever read was called "Diary of a Desprate Girl" (and yes, I do think they misspelled "desperate". I cannot find it again.). It starred Slut!Ginny, and she was staring at Draco, and told Ron she would fancy whoever she damn well pleased, and that's all I remember. Understandably, it didn't make much of a mark.
The second D/G fic I ever read was an Anisefic (I think), or... SOMETHING from FIA. I loved it. I had just learned that Draco/Ginny seriously existed (it had never occurred to me before) and decided to read some ficage; I haven't looked back since.

Could you find the link to the other one, or can you really not remember it?
(I'm not just trying to find good D/G fics here to distract myself with of course..... *cough* )

I don't remember exactly which one it was. It may have been "Masquerade" (http://www.dracoandginny.com/viewstory.php?sid=5765&chapter=1)... In fact, I do think that's a coherent possibility... Yes, that just might have been it... or else it was Anise's nineteen years later...

Ah, I adore CCC. Her "Masquerade" makes me think of another fic by another great author, StrangerWithMyFace, called "The Masque". Excellent, excellent fic...though it's NC-17 and so you need to be registered on dracoandginny.com in order to read it.
Man, Anise is also a beastly writer..

Oo, stranger with my face just happens to be on my favourite authors list on FFnet. I think she was the one who wrote that cat fic... what was its name?

Cat fic?

Catenatus I think it's called. It's the one where Draco and Ginny are magically bonded together by an ancient cat or something. It sounds corny, but I actually really liked it.
