Mod's request here. ~gal-texter Everyone had one certain fic that started off the D/G craze for them, didn't they? Was it an awesome one, that just
made you have to look for more? Or was it a not so amazing one, making you want to find a more plausible scenario?
I was just wondering what started the great D/G reign for the rest of you.

Oo! Yay, This is so weird, I was thinking about what started my obsession last night! I'm happy you put this up here
It was a fan fiction by ThatBlondeChic, I don't know if anyone else knows about her; she usually writes Buffy fanfic (another obsession). But, I was affiliated with her site, and she had a D/G layout, and I was like "um... weird, I never really heard of this ship before..." (this was before I became hopelessly obsessed with HP), and she had written a few fan fictions about them.
So, obviously, I was insanely curious and couldn't help but read them. And my obsession was born. It was about Draco saving her during a quidditch game (clique!), but there was twists. Draco held her hand because he couldn't help himself (but he was in character, I swear!), and they couldn't let go. Literally. Some magic-wizard-witch-thingy. She held onto his hand like a literal lifeline and they were stuck that way. She hadn't finished it, and I lost the site, so...
Wow, long post. Shutting up now.

Well would you believe I didn't have a fic that did that for me? I put it into my very first fanfic because one day it just hit me. Like a mallet. Like a, "hey, that'd be fun" mallet. So I stuck it in. Only after people were like "oh I love D/G" did I go and read D/G. I didn't even know there was an actual following.
Once I did start reading, I don't remember what my first fic was. LOL, waaay too many over the years.

I cant remeber what my first fic was, but I do remeber sitting in front of my computer while searching fanfiction, and I was thinking about what ships would be good to read, all of the sudden D/G came to mind, and its been love, so to speak, ever since.

Well......Right now I'm talking to the person that got me into D/G, and she's telling me what fic she read first.......and okay, she's come to a decision. The first D/G fic she read was Lessons of the Heart (which is really sweet. He gives her a rose for and it describes the person's feelings for the giver by the color of it. It starts out black and ends up deep red at the end!!) on fanfiction.net, and it was becuase there were a bunch of fics with really good plots but they were all D/G and so she said "Why not?" and read them.
and that was a reeeally long run-on sentence.
~Ryoko~
Edit:Ps; I just went to ff.net and found it if you want to read the fic.
Lessons of the Heart by Cassi0peia
Summary:
When Ginny Weasley catches Draco Malfoy doing something he shouldn't be, she blackmails him to teach her to fly. But will they both learn a lot more? It's complete, don't worry!

Aug 28 2003, 05:34 PM
Oh I've read lessons of the heart, that IS a really good fic, Ryoko!
Even though I started this thread I realized I didn't put what MY first one was! I'm sure alot of people have read this one, but the first D/G fic I read was "Wrongfully Accused" by Mochabutterfly. I reda it because I really liked Ginny and the ship just intrigued me, so I read even more D/G and eventually started writing my own!
Isn't D/G great?

Hmmm... I cannot remember what my first d/g fic was. I only started to read D/G because I was looking for a different fic and didn't know it was what I was looking for. I read it and was like, "waiittt.... what is this?" lol. Then, of course, I had to finish it because I can't stand not finishing books a stories. Then it took off from there. Ah. Sorry about going off in that random tandrum. I didn't even answer the question. lol. Oh well.

Hmm...actually I dont remember how I got hooked. I believe I accidentally found this site from an CCS S/S site. Then I stumble across
VioletJerseys fic that is sorta tide in with
The Serpent's Bride . Her fic is about what happened to the sexy red lingerie. The story is REALLY NC-17.
After that I emailed her about the Serpents Bride. Then she helped me find the fic....from then on I am 100% D/G ship shipper.
Edited: The story the Violet Jerseys wrote I talked about is call
Beauty of the Fire
Rate: NC-17
Summary: a companion fic for Reiko Naoi's Serpent Bride! if you wanna know what REALLY happened to Ginny's famouse red lingerie... then go on and read it!

My first D/G fic was some smutty fic. What can I say. I like smut. Anyway, after that I started reading more and more D/G and now I've even ventured into the fluffy PG rated stories.
I haven't really set time aside to read
Mochabutterfly's work, but another great fanfic author that has kept me reading D/G is
Davesmom at fanfiction.net. She has really good fics.

The first fanfic was actually an h/hr fic with d/g in it. it's called
The Last Task by
karenkate-kitty at fanfiction.net. It's a really great fic! Though before I went into the h/hr section at ff.net, i thought, maybe I'll see if there is any fanfictions for draco and ginny. they make a good couple. well, i went to check out the h/hr fanfics first and that's how i came across
The Last Task. i was lucky that it was just completed. if you want to chek out the fic, here's the link:
The Last Task MOD NOTE: here's its Recommendation thread ~gal-texterThe summary is: Harry's 7th and last year at Hogwarts will he finally defeat Voldemort? Will he be able to profess his feelings to her (Hermione) at last? And will Draco fall for a Redhead Gryffindor?
Sorry if i misspelled anything cuz my computer is slow n it keeps freezing. I have to restart it... Oh yeah, this is my first post... so i'm sort of new here... sort of...

I can't remember the
first D/G fic I read, just that it was mainly R/Hr (I used to be a big fan of the pairing, but I've been turning H/Hr.), but with D/G on the side. I thought the pairing was so interesting and original, so I went to read more. The first completely D/G fic I read was
The Past Didn't Go Anywhere by fearthainn. I was amazing, and since then I've been hooked.
By the way, all of fearthainn's writing is brilliant. Her fic-in-progress right now is Dark Directed, which might even turn out to be better than her other one. If you haven't already read either of the two, I highly reccomend them.

I haven't read The Serpents Bride yet, and I have to say it took my forever to finally find the time to sit myself down and read All you Need is Love.
As wonderful as these fics are, some are just really long and take forever to read. Those of you who have read the Draco Triology know what I mean when I talk about LOOOOONG fics.
By the way, Kneazles ARE cool!

I think I left off at chapter 3 or something- so I have a long way to go.

Hello, this my first post.
When I first started to read HP fanfics(about six months ago), I was strictly a R/Hr shipper. *ducks flying objects* Then one day I was poking around FF.net looking for something different to read and discovered D/G. The first one that I recall reading was
Forever With You which is finished now and remains one of my favorites. Then I discovered the wonderful classics such as Serpent's Bride, All You Need Is Love and of course the Draco Trilogy(which marked the first time I read anything with H/Hr in it). So now I'm hooked for life.

I was a Ron/Hermione shipper at first.

..I actually started writing two fics about them before i kind of felt like they just weren't *my* pairing and browsed around before reading Davesmom's 'Desperado'. My first D/G fic that I absolutely fell in love with was The Little Child TO Lead THem by STrangerwithmyface. I became a convert to the D/G ship because of it!
I also agree with the above post. DAvesmom rules! There's one fic where GInny has to give all the boys at Hogwarts a kiss(some type of spring ritual) and ends up kissing Malfoy. THat has to be my fav one-shot from Davesmom!!

I don't really know what made me like D/G. All I know is that I was walking around not knowing anything really, but thinking a little, something like. Oooh, Harry/Ginny. That would maybe be fun... but then maybe not. Maybe Ginny/Neville... or something. What? Some people like Draco Malfoy? Scary people, stay away from me. AAAAAHHH
And suddenly I read a lot of Draco/Ginny.
The first story I read was
P.S. I Love You by VirtualFaerie. It's really good, and I've read a lot of the stories that she has written.
I don't know if I read it by accident and started liking D/G, or if I thought "Hey, Draco and Ginny. That would be... interesting." But ever since, I've been a big fan.

My first Draco/Ginny was Atypical Lesson by Sarea Okelani. I thought it was excellent! My second one was The Pleasure Principle by Babygrrl, which I also liked. Both of these were on restricted section.
I must confess that these are the only two I've read so far. I've always been partial to Harry/Hermione and Lily/James, so I haven't fully explored the Draco/Ginny stories yet. But I liked very much the two I've read.

Well, after tha fiction I read- the one I said on the first page of this thread- I read Our Winter by Jade (I LOVE her writing- my favorite author), then Serpernt's Bride, and then All You Need Is Love. Finally I got to The Draco Trilogy.
Okay, *wince* don't hurt me- Cassie is a great author, she really is, one of the best I've ever read- but I didn't like the way Draco and Ginny's relationship began to progress- I don't know- it was like, because of his feelings, Draco seemed to underrate Ginny, and Ginny seemed a bit too much hanging over her feelings for him- like I'd imagine she'd do with Harry in some fictions.
