Well, I thought I would ask this since I am interested in seeing the answers. For me, I saw it since I first read Sorcerers Stone and my obsession began after Prisoner of Azkaban.
Harry/Hermione 4eva
Chamber of Secrets!
I suppose it was becasue I saw what Harry was like properly, because I don't think you really see that in PS/SS, and Hermione was less bossy and was more chilled out in CoS and I just thought about how unbeleivingly great they'd be together!
My obbessition started with CoS and it's never ended!
Anazecria
Erm, well for me it didn't exactly happen with the books. I kinda answer this question in another post which you will find here. For me it actually started when watching the JKR interview on the CoS DVD Extras disk. When she was hinting at R/Hr, I was really confused, since that was not what I saw when watching CoS. So I read the books because I thought the author was wrong. smile.gif So I was already shipping when I started reading the books, I was not thinking H/Hr would happen necessarily, but that it should.

Like Anazecria, I started after the movies. After the hug in CoS, I was hooked!

I have been H/Hr since Book 1 and always will be smile.gif

I was a Draco/Hermione shipper (not seriously) for the first three books. When I saw Harry and Hermione in Book 4, I just changed ships because of the amount of chemistry I saw there. wub.gif

Harry and Hermione for life... heart.gif

That was after I read POA, I couldnt wait to get my hands on GOF and see what's in there for Harry and Hermione. cool.gif

What caught my interest?? Those scenes with the time turner, with Buckbeak and saving Sirius, I thought to myself, these two just get along like right and left, light and shadow, balck and white. They compliment each other, and not contrast, they blend, but not mix, each has his/her own strengths that support and completes the other. wub.gif

Its the first time I thought that they dont even need Ron to do things together. cool.gif

The Philosopher's Stone...the hug scene just...first moment...so lovely...

I didn't vote here, 'cause it was a fanfic that made me an H/H shipper. Ironically, it was an R/H fic. w00t.gif I won't bore you with the details, but you can find them here in this related thread about Becoming (an H/H shipper).

I read the books after watching the movie.
I was first aware of Harry/Hermione in the Philosopher's Stone movie - 'the books and cleverness' scene. That's when I first thought that they'd make a good couple.

I read PS, COS and POA and was aware of the signs but didn't start shipping them until I read GOF (exactly 1 week after I had read PS - LOL) remember the scene after Harry's has been made Triwizard Champion and Ron won't even talk to him. The next day Hermione meets him in the Griffindore Common Room with a sack of toast - knowing that he wouldn't want go down for breakfast...then they have that little walk around the lake - it was then that Irealized that they were meant for each other.

I started shipping H/H from the first book, when Harry noticed Hermione missing and urged Ron to help him warn her about the troll.

I started shipping after I saw the first movie so I suppose that counts as the first book neh?

I think that in an unconscious level, I wanted H/Hr to be together since from the first book.

But I think it was after the Yule Ball Chapter in GoF that I became totally aware of it. I mean, I was totally shocked about Ron's jealousy and the possibility of a R/H ship, because I could never see it working.

I was expecting so much that Harry would realize that the connection he shares with Hermione was special... While I was reading, I even got hopeful that Harry would start seeing Hermione in a different light after the Rita Skeeter's articles... (But that boy is SURELY clueless!)

Thanks God Ootp didn't let me down.
JKR doesn't go for the obvious. I'm sure Harry and Hermione will be together in the end.

In the first book, I saw a great friendship developing between Harry and Hermione. (Ron was just being mean to Hermione in that book)
After I saw the CoS movie, I changed my mind, because I saw there was definately (or at least in my mind) more going on between Harry and Hermione.

Since then I've been a huge H/Hr shipper, trying to convert everyone of my friends who are R/Hr shippers that they are wrong.
I'm lucky to have my best friend, who's a huge H/Hr shipper too, to help me to convert them! tongue.gif

I've also been aware of H/Hr unconscieously since PS/SS. I didn't become a fanatical shipper until the first movie. That's when I discovered there was a HUGE fandom for shipping out there that I had never stumbled across.

When I was reading GoF, I did get a few hints of R/Hr( like most people did ). I was just about ready to abandon my ship, but when I came across places like FA etc...I kept with H/Hr. And I'm very glad I did.

Luckily for me, I turned my friends toward the HP shipping fandom. One of them even posts here. I still have yet to convert my family members. My aunt still believes in R/Hr, but that will change *snickers*

[Be warned: This might be a bit offtopic.gif but my friend is a non-shipper... she's slightly leaning toward H/Hr, though biggrin.gif ]

My friend said something about H/Hr a few months ago, and I found it funny enough to get it stuck in my head. See, she's only read CoS, some parts of SS/PS, and the beginning of PoA rolleyes.gif She also hasn't watched the movies properly laugh.gif So she's not much of a Harry Potter fan, as you can see. But she's read some H/Hr fanfics [fluffy ones, of course thumbup.gif ]

Anyway, I had been trying to prove that couples that bicker as the non-couple [Ron and Hermione] do will either not last, or won't happen. She had been snapping at me whenever she saw me make the "ARGH!-Ron-and-Hermione-canNOT-happen!" face, and finally, she said "[Insert real name here], Ron and Hermione will not happen because relationships that don't end in divorce, don't start with bickering! Hermione needs someone like Harry, and Harry needs someone like Hermione... Besides, Ron is ugly. '

Okay, it's NOT that funny. But it was hilarious coming from my friend who is grumpy by nature laugh.gif

And I wasn't trying to bash Ron. That's really what my friend said! laugh.gif

*ducks rotten tomatoes* Alright, alright! I'll get of the stage! Sheesh!

Arggg...stupid mouse...i clicked on SS, but it swtiched to CoS...argggg...
okay, subsconsciously since the first book, I began supporting H/Hr. I do not think that it's one of those fairy tale things that made me a pumpkin pie shipper, because then I would probably end up a H/G shipper. It's just that I sympathize with Hermione. She's smart, and kind of book-wormish, and friends with the most famous wizard, who was clueless about himself. Those two just matches perfectly; they complement each other and can help each other discover a part of themselves. Hermione realized that Harry is a human-being behind his scar and Harry shown Hermione that "books and cleverness" is trivial compared to "friendship and bravery (and love)"
After the troll scene, I was hooked.
WonkyKris
None of them. I became a H/Hr shipper after I read a H/Hr fanfic!!

like Cdelight, I've always subconsiously shipped h/hr but it only came to light after GoF, when my mum suggested something was going on between R/hr and I thought "NOOOOooo! hang on...Harry and Hermione more like!" and from that time onwards it just became glaringly obvious really.
