no..I refer H/HR POTTER Family to rule them all! thumbup.gif

Good call! thumbup.gif That's the motto I would look for.

I ship Harry/Hermione because I believe they represent true love for me. An unexpected friendship somehow blossoming into something deeper, unwavering loyalty towards each other, the ability to sense what the other is thinking and just the utter perfection of being in each other's company. I love Harmony and I dont care what JKR wrote, they will always be the One True Ship for me forever! Harmony Lives On!!!

Well I admit at one point I did like H/G, but then I started getting into the weird parallels as James and Lily, and it kind of disturbed me... but the thing is, is that other than red hair Ginny is nothing like Lily, it seams like Hermione is more like Lily than Ginny is.

I agree with you that the only resemblance between lily and ginny is their hair, but for the rest, it IS Hermione who is "lily's heir" if we want to call her that. I completely agree with what you said about HHr. heart.gif

I've just thought of something. Ron and Hermione was written very sweet and lighthearted, but it will NEVER come close to the bond that Harry and Hermione have. That deep emotional romance is something that could only happen with Harry and Hermione.

I think the writers were trying to fit in every possible ship in the movies. It was very noticable in the OoTP movie. That and Dan and Emma have the best chemistry than anyone on that set.

I agree. The writers and directors didn't know how it would end so they put moments in for all ships.

However, the D/E chemistry has taken on a life of its own and even straight friendship scenes have an intimacy and chemistry that no other couple can match. That will be the challenge to sell OBHWF in the last two films.

I ship them b/c when I fall in love..that's how i want it to be. the kind of love they talk about in the bible, you know?...woah...Christian talk and harry potter?...never thought that would happen
Mustang
While I got to admit that it was the on-screen chemistry that sold m on these two, looking at the books, they just naturally stand out. That's simply the best way I can put it.

Look at it this way:

I don't believe Ron alone would've remembered about Hermione with the troll. His character at that point directly resented Hermione. Now when Harry proceeds through the fire to face Quirrell/Voldemort, it seems like Hermione is determined to be at his side, and almost distraught she can't be. That might be a stretch, but that's part of what I see.

Even Tom Riddle acknowledges that he couldn't get Harry to met/face him unless one of Harry's friends gets attacked. Who happens to be Harry's muggleborn friend? Hermione, but why is it that Hermione's the muggleborn friend? Anyone's guess.

The Firebolt-not only has she tried to get Harry to be able to join them at Hogsmeade through a loophole, but now she's looking after Harry's life, and its somethin that Harry eventually understands. Ron (sorry bro) doesn't, and remains angry when its not even his broom!

She can't stop talking about Harry to Krum, and stands by Harry when the whole of Gryffindor believes he cheated to get his name in the goblet. there are a number of small little moments strewn about GoF that add to their relationship. I'm sorry, but to be honest, I see far more H/Hr in there than I do R/Hr. (I'm sorry, but I don't have the book with me right now to pull quotes)

Hermione has repeatedly demonstrated a devotion to Harry that I don't think any other character in the series has, including Dumbledore. She always sticks by his side, even through risk of danger- she's been petrified, attacked by dementors, nearly killed in the DoM- and stayed when others, even dear Ron (again, sorry, bro) walked out.

I don't find these two boring at all. I find them enjoyable, sweet, and ultimately a synonym for the kind of relationship I'd want to have facing this situation, and even if I wasn't. She sees him for who he really is, the boy who ust wants a normal life with no glory. Ginny sees him as 'The-Boy-Who-Lived' and I think Ron does, too, on some level.

If you don't, that's fine, because I'm not asking you to. I'm only answering the question the forum thread asked.

I agree with you Mustang. The troll scene really makes you wonder if Ron would of ever gotten along with Hermione if Harry hadn't remembered. Though then again if it wasn't for Harry who knows if Hermione would of made it through alive.

Another thing I admire about Hermione is the way she tries protecting Harry. The whole firebolt thing really shows how much she does care for him. She's willing to get blasted by both Harry and Ron just to ensure Harry's safety. Plus she was half right so got to give her credit for that. biggrin.gif

There's another place where I think JKR lost track of the story is the Krum deal. If she really wanted to show R/Hr she shouldn't have made her solely talk about Harry. That's just my opinion though because I really liked those scenes. cool.gif

And Hermione has shown a special kind of devotion to Harry she shows no one else. And one no one shows Harry either. She does whatever she can to help Harry even through the near-death experiences. And Harry and Hermione are a sweet and caring friendship that I wish would have become a couple in canon. I always felt that Hermione might of been the only person to truly see Harry as just Harry. Even Ron at times was blown away by the boy-who-lived.

Why? Because it just is. That's what's so great about these two. They are so undeniably complex, they have so many things about them...yet they are so simple. Harry and Hermione. It's just is. Through thick and thin. Harry and Hermione. There is no Harry without Hermione and no Hermione without Harry. It's like they would live a half-life. The smallest things tug at your heart. Their love shines out like the evening star. It's right there. It's so complex yet it's so simple. I ship it because I see love as those two. When I think of it I think Harry and Hermione. Because when they're together there is this magic that just touched the heart and warms the entire place. When I was reading Godric's Hollow I think it just put all the emotions bare on the ground for everyone to see. Harry and Hermione just are. Because all they need is themselves head to toe. It's instilled in them. I can't imagine them NOT loving each other. Because they don't need to change because they can be whoever they are infront of each other. People can say what they want but I'd rather believe in respect, trust, friendship, truth, realism, loyalty, sacrifice and love. It's just wrong for me to think of anything else. Behind every Harry is Hermione, Behind every Hermione is a Harry. Because at the end of the day Harry IS the one who made Hermione's life that wonderful and she's the one that Harry would fight for. All those others too but can you really see a Harry without a Hermione? Not really. And like I said they just are It's just that simple. And that's what makes it beautiful. Because when two lines make your heart soar and weep for the untold tale you know. You just know. 'Do you trust me Harry?' He nodded. It's that blind trust. It's that blind love. They can go on for ages *Godric's Hollow* and yet those little ones can also break/make our hearts. Because I am hapy with what I got, because I'd rather have what I saw in Harry and Hermione than anything else I've seen. And who says they don't have tension? Tasty line anyone? I could feel Ron's eyebrow raising as if saying slipped up already Hermione? You could FEEL the tension! And way too much innuendos for my poor mind tongue.gif

it's simple really, i just think that they really understand each other. they have an everlasting friendship and rarely ever bicker. harry and hermione help each other out during tough times and let's face it, they can't keep their hands off each other! they're always hugging, or holding hands or whatnot. so all in all i ship harry/hermione because harry and hermione just understand each other.....while ron and hermione just bicker.... tongue.gif
HanaPotter
I ship H/H because they were both brought up in the Muggle World with no clue as to who they really were, they can relate to each other with the sense of still learning how things work in the Wizarding World. Also they have being best friends since they were 11 so they know exactly how one another acts in different situations and what each other like and dislike so they can never really upset each other. They have grown together and unlike H/G, they are more compatible in the sense that they have seen each other in the worst possible situation and have seen them come out better on the otherside. In actual fact I find it strange that J.K. didn't put them together because of these reasons.

Great question! Glad you asked...thumbup.gif

I believe in the fandom of Harry Potter....What other choices do you have?

let's see, shall we?

Ron/Hermione: Bickering, fighting, and will inevitably end in divorce. argue.gif
Harry/Ginny: not many scenes, not very dramatic, and a James/lily wannabe
Hermione/Draco: Come on! these people hate each other! Could this even seriously happen?! doubt it...
Harry/Luna: Cute, but no. too much wasted money on theropy and invisible skeleton horses.(come on, that's all they have in common... dry.gif)

All the other ships are too pointless to mention! and that only leaves you with, you guessed it:

Harry/Hermione: (I honestly don't know where to start...) heart.gif

why do I ship Harry/Hermione? Besides knowing the other ships are a bunch of gag-fests?

Simple: They're perfect. (But how else do you sum up Hp/Hg in one word?) biggrin.gif

I ship Harry/Hermione because:

- They completely understand each other. One says something, the other cuts in and completes that sentence.
- They argue about not-so-little things. Yes, I like it when they argue because their arguments actually mean something. It's not just some cover-up of their *cough* feelings for each other.
- Because Harry doesn't make Hermione cry. And Harry makes Hermione worry.
- Because they've shared so many hugs, so many touches, it's a real big miracle that they didn't end up together.
- Because he never walked out on her. He tried but she kept by his side. "They're in this together."
- Because Hermione saw Harry in states that Ginny or Cho can never imagine Harry to be in. She saw him vulnerable, and she sees the real Harry past the scar and the fame.
- Because even though "she's read all about him", she still treated him as a real person and didn't act like a fangirl who could form a fan club with her as the only member.

I have loads of reasons but too tired to think.
hexonjellybeans12
I ship Harry and Hermione for many reasons, but one rises above all: they have the kind of love I would want in a romantic relationship. They treat each other with respect, they genuinely care for each other, they've stayed by each other's side through thick and thin, and a million other things. They don't have to be anything but themselves around each other.
preppysassy
I agree, it is through Harry/Hermione that i've found out what i want in a relationship. My parents get along as i picture Ron/Hermione do. they argue about such stupid things, and theyre almost always arguing. how it is that good? Harry and Hermione almost never argue, and when they do, nobody's feelings get hurt. they understand each other and know what the other is thinking and thats what would've made them such a good couple if they're ship wouldve sailed in canon
Candra
I think Harry and Hermione should have gotten together, because there's nobody who understands Harry better and cares deeper for him than Hermione.
She is the one person who didn't stop believing in Harry for one single moment in all those years.
She told him in first year that he's got all he needs to face Voldemort, that friendship and courage is what matters.
She believed that he is not the heir of Slytherin.
She went to talk to Harry when he found out that Sirius had supposedly betrayed his parents.
She went flying with Harry on Buckbeaks back to save Sirius although she's so afraid of flying.
She didn't doubt for one second that Harry didn't put his name in the Goblet of Fire and she did whatever she could to help him with the tasks during the Tiwizard Tournament.
She assumed that Voldemort had prepared a trap for Harry in fifths year and didn't want him to go looking for Sirius, but she came with him no matter what.
Hermione is the most ambitious student Hogwarts has ever seen and her education meant more to her than to anybody else. Nevertheless she didn't hesitate a second to leave school without Graduation to help Harry finding the horcruxes. She left her parents, her dearly beloved cat, her home and all her other friends without knowing if she would see any of them again, took all her savings from the bank and went with Harry.

To me, there are only two questions left: Why would Hermione do all that if she didn't love Harry more than anyone else? And how on earth is Harry able not to fall in love with Hermione after all she's done for him?

Why do I ship H/Hr? Read my sig and you'll find out.

Seriously, Harry and Hermione? It's like the true face of true and unconditional love. It started out as friendship but then it turned out into something more, something worth acknowledging, something worth believing in.

For me, it's reality. thumbsup.gif
jadehaku13
Hmm why do I ship harry/hermione? For me it started when I saw the first movie. I don't know if it was due to emma and dan's chemistry or if it was the scenes themselves but when I would see them together on screen or on page they would just fit so well together. I was already a shipper by then but when I read the 3rd harry potter book it was a done deal for me. I just thought that these two were destined to be together (Oh no, I'm getting teary eyed thinking about what happens to my lovely couple in the last book upset.gif) When I first saw these characters I thought that because both these character's names started with 'h' that they would be coupled together by the author (Stupid I know but I was a kid at the time when I thought that!) Since then they have had tons of development that has hinted to a far deeper relationship than just friendship.

They have been through so much together, things that no other character could come close to understanding. That even when they are at odds with one another they still hold respect with eachother. The few fights that they have had over the course of the books ended up making their relationship all the more stronger (like at the end HBP prince book where hermione hugs harry after dd's death). Like others have mentioned h/hr are also able to complete eachother's sentences and understand eachother on a level few can ever hope of grasping. Even JKR has said that they have experienced things together that nobody could touch upon (more or less) To me that embodies exactly what a soulmate would be able to do. In fact there are many literary pieces that have couples that are indeed soulmates having similar connections as hermione and harry. When compared with hr/h I find it impossible to ship any 'canon' pairings. You have the soul-bond relationship that harry/hermione have and then you haven the argumentative love-hate relationship of ron and hermione and frankly that one could work for a young romance, possibly, but I find it very unlikely that a relationship like that could survive to marriage and in my mind it doesn't wallbash.gif

I truly believe the Ron/Hermione will end in a bitter divorce! lol

Harry trusts, respects and loves Hermione-he doesn't require anything from her and yet most of her life revolves around him, something which she has never brought up or accused him of.

It's simple, unconditional and perfect as many many Harmonians have said in the past and will continue to say in the future.
Part of me is glad that JKR didnt continue H/Hr in the last two books because she would have made it false and cliche and had a wince-worthy fanciful ending which would have undermined the love that has slowly developed between them over the years.

Also for 2 characters who couldn't live without each other during the 7 books not to exchange a word or even a glance at the end of it, it's ridiculous!! --i find this a true indicator of the fact that JKR realised she'd missed a chance of a lifetime with these two characters

Their great friendship can lead to an eventually realationship.

Even in deathly hallows the nature of harry and hermione's relationship even as friends causes me to ship them.
The morning after Harry is furious with Hermione for the wand breaking, after she says that he's still mad at her he takes one look at her face and kinda melts and says that it was an accident, that she was incredible and he would have died without her. Ron would have held a grudge for about 2 months.

You took the words out of my mouth!
DH is IMHO mostly a book that shows that the H/Hr Ship is STILL the strongest and most profound in the entire series...if you are able to read between the lines!
BETWEEN the lines, DH really SUPPORTS our HSS Harmony and does NOT DESTROY it!

I ship H/Hr because it's one of the most beautiful relationships ever put on paper. And that's just the friendship. The way they work together is simply amazing. Then there're the little things like their physicality and their thorough understanding of one another.

My only questions for JKR are: If you intended for Ginny to be Harry's soulmate, why did Hermione have to be knocked out of the picture for Ginny to actually take precedence in the books?

I am truly agree with you. When I read the should-not-be-exist 7th book. I always have this idea in my head. I only see either this or Hermione becoming Mrs. Weasley the second. [so sad, I feel deplorable about her great knowledge becoming so useless by being a housewife]

Moreover, I study Ethics and one thing that my teacher taught me is that 'A boy and a girl who is the best of friend is always the best lover.' They know everything about each other and aren't go to hurt each other and well...seeing Ron and Hermione and 'aren't go to hurt each other' part, I don't think this can apply to them. On the other hand, Harmony have definitely this description to them.

Lastly, with the song called My best lover was my best friend by Emerson Drive, I can only image Harry and Hermione in this song.
