I agree...Hermione, for a know it all, has feelings too...it's a matter of time before Harry realizes it though...

.But yeah I agree IMO its quite obvious in a very subtle sorta way that she was jealous. I love all those little scenes I'll take all our subtly over the Herons and Chocos anvils any day

I’ve been going through the lists of H/Hr moments I made when I last re-read the books and here’s a collection of subtle moments from PS/SS and CoS that I loved and I don’t think have been mentioned in this thread yet. (All the numbers of the pages are from the paperback Bloomsbury children’s editions)
I’ll post moments from the other books later, when I’ve had time to go through the lists I made for them.
Here Harry was proud of Hermione. Being proud of someone is almost like admiring someone for something. And I think both pride and admiration for someone are ‘key ingredients’ for being in love with that person.
Here it was the other way around: Hermione being proud of Harry.
Harry is being protective of Hermione here, and feeling the need to protect someone is also a ‘key ingredient’ for being in love.
Harry and Hermione sometimes speak on behalf of each other without checking it with the other first. IMO this is more something your partner in life does for you, not so much something that friends do for each other. I know Harry and Hermione are still just friends, but maybe it’s a clue that they are going to be more than friends one day

A flute: played by mouth?! A few seconds from Harry lips to Hermione’s lips?! No time to wipe it off, I guess?! It’s almost like kissing!!!
It’s being mentioned first, so probably it was the best thing, it’s the first thing that pops up in his mind!

Ha! I always noticed this in SS. I remember when I read the book for the first time I was wondering if they really had shared the same flute within seconds -- seems kind of intimate to me. Of course I noticed and thought about this even before I was an H/Hr shipper, because at the time I wasn't shipping anyone in the book series.
