Thank you. Aren't people just like that when it comes to their own work? I have a friend who's like that.

Almost palpable? Lol the whole point is that it is palpable! The touching of lips... I wonder why humans do that naturally as the physical expression of romantic love... it's weird isn't it?

The first thing that comes to mind is this: The lips are the most sensitive part of the body. And also culturual influence, as well as instinct all play a part of it.

Sort of like the way my dog, whenever she sees something small running, runs after it and chases it, grabs it by the neck, throws it up into the air and snaps its neck in midair, killing it.

Salukis, like my Habiba, were bred to hunt for jack-rabbits on the Egyptian deserts like that. No one taught her how to hunt, yet my Habiba is quite the established hunter, already getting rid of moles... rats... rabbits... birds... even a few snakes.

OMG that was a classic Salamon2 post. tongue.gif

I think the problem with alot of H/Hr fanfics (and their kiss scenes) is that they're written like romance novels. We can't forget that this series is primarily action/adventure and the romance is supposed to be intertwined as a subplot. And the characters are not all gushy emotional hopeless romantics. I usually switch off when Harry starts talking poetic to Hermione or something. rolleyes.gif
I'm attatched to the concept of Harmony. I don't need to see the books become a H/Hr love fest. I just want to see Harry and Hermione kiss and affirm that they're a couple. Sweet! And then we can fill in the rest with post-series fanfics. But I'm sick of 7th year fan fics which have Harry spending more time waxing lyrical about his love for Hermione than he does hunting for Horcruxes. mad2.gif

Sorry, just needed to rant there because that stuff's the primary thing I get angry at my fellow shippers about. Sorry man, I hope I haven't been too offensive.
Accio Harry!

Yeah, I agree with that. I honestly would go for just a 'look', you know, one of their looks that only they know. The ones that make it seem as though they are the only 2 people in the room. The connection that tells everyone around them that they're sharing a special secret reserved for the 2 of them.

Ooh, I wouldn't say no to hand-holding. Is that sappy? I just think that holding hands is very intimate and it seems that most people forget about it nowadays, sad.

Oh, who am I kidding, if they were to snog each other senseless, I'd probably wet my pants, LOL. Definitely wouldn't go along with JK's style of real love, though. *cough* pathetic snogging with sunsets and puke, puke, puke *cough*

Hopefully, we'll also get an "I love you." I think it was brown who pointed out that Harry has never (in almost 17 years) been told (on-page, at least) those words by anyone! That's heart-wrenching. Cho had her chance, Ginny blew her chance at the funeral, but maybe it'll be Hermione...who else?
snoopy_pie
I love that theory. I think he will hear the words I love you and it won't be from Ginny. We already know how she feels ("maybe that is why I like you so much") and love wasn't it.

No I think and I hope that it will be Hermione who tells him right before the big face off. wub.gif

Let's put our predictions aside for a moment. How would you LIKE to see H and Hr kiss? In a tense action/adventure situation, or in a more tender-ish, fluffy scene?

I'd like to see the kiss kind of just suddenly happen and surprise us in the middle of chaotic action...

Maybe thats because I'm BORED TO THE HIGH HEAVENS by the fluffy "common room" scene, overused to death in fanfics...

Ugh! I know what you mean! To be realistic, I think H/Hr will most likely kiss either before or during the battle with Voldemort.

OH! OH! Like right in the middle of the battle, they're close to each other and kiss! OH, YAY!

I believe that their first kiss will likely come at a pivotal point, yes... but I can't imagine it happening so late in the book. It's necessary that Harry and Hermione are on the same page by that point, so anything as convoluted as their physical relationship needs to be out of the way by the 3/4 mark in the book, tops. I'm certain that there will be more to it after that, but there is a lot of plotline (i.e. Snape, Wormtail, and Voldemort) that will demand most if not all of the story from then on.
Arm_Wild
Yes, around the 3/4 mark in the book is a perfect place for it.

Miss Mady, were you being sarcastic? I didn't mean like having them pause to kiss with 30 death eaters on the prowl a few feet away. I meant like having the moment during a "break in the action" where it's tense, but they just escaped certain death and are so relieved to see each other alive and all the emotion comes pouring out along with the mental recognition of "hey, we love each other"...

I actually meant it more like while the Death Eaters are hunting them out, they're hiding or something behind a rock, they see each other, and they're so happy each of them are both alive, and they kiss.

Ooh, I like that one....very realistic to their type of relationship....*goes to muse on it* Hmmm....

you know what, a sappy, extra fluffy, romantic bla bla wouldn't be that surprising? I mean, all the monster in the chest stuff and that kiss in the common room wereee way cliche and fan fictionish whistling.gif

after the war, i guess. or, after a big major fight (not like the nonsense fights, w/ Ron).... and then hermione reveals her feeling for harry, that she doesn't love the-chosen-one, the one she loves is Harry, just Harry (she says it, looking at him) she waits, for harry to answer, she began to leave, but then Harry says that he want Hermione to be with him forever, then the hugged each other, then a pasoinate kiss followed.....
Riddleheart54
I really just want them share at least one kiss not just any kiss but a magical heartfelt one much better than the one he had with Ginny SuperAngry.gif

Ahhh... H/Hrs first kiss.. I'd like to think it would be highly romantic... you know violins playing, butterflies fluttering about in the summer breeze and the like...

Ah who am I kidding? Thats not how I want it to be! lol
I think after the final battle would be lovely. Harry telling her he loves her and Hermione whispering that she feels the same way before he kisses her and it's all cute and fluffy making it a lovely happy ending. wub.gif
Wouldnt that be great? biggrin.gif

This is what I'd like to see - something I thought of this morning. Not very original (They kiss before Harry goes off to fight Voldemort) but here goes...

==============================================
He turned to archway of the veil and was about to enter when her voice stopped him.

“Harry, wait.”

Harry turned around to face her, and what he saw nearly took his breath away. Hermione looked about the same as she did just a moment ago, yet there was something different about her. Her face was still dirty, her robes torn but he couldn’t tear his eyes away from her face. She took a step closer to him, and he could see that her brown eyes were sparkling with tears.

“Hermione, don’t cry.”

He found himself inexorably drawn to her and before he knew it he had reached his right hand to her cheek and tried in vain to dry the tears that were falling freely now.

Hermione closed her eyes and looked down as Harry’s hand fell to her neck.

“I don’t want you to go,” she sobbed as she pulled him into a hug, her head now buried on his shoulder.

“You know I have to.” Harry whispered.

“I know, but it isn’t fair. I may never see you again.”

“You’ll see me again.” Harry replied, although he knew in his heart that he might not make it.

“You’re a great wizard, you know.” Hermione’s voice broke, looking up at him again.

“I’m not as good as you.” This exchange sounded vaguely familiar.

“Me? Books and cleverness! There are more important things – like friendship and bravery – and…

Hermione swallowed her tears and paused. “Love.”

This part was new, Harry wasn’t sure if he had heard her correctly. “Love?”

Hermione nodded, her voice did not waver this time. “Yes, love. Harry, I love you.”

The word love set his nerves ablaze and his heart pounding; no one had ever said that to him before. Hermione loved him. But he had always known that, hadn’t he? She had always cared for him, supported him and understood him like nobody else, not even Ron.

When Harry didn’t respond right way, Hermione continued. “I don’t expect you to return my feelings but I had to tell you, Harry. It may be selfish but I didn’t want to let you go without telling you. I may never get the chance again.”

She pulled herself out of his arms and turned to go.

“Hermione, wait.” Harry grabbed her by the wrist. “Don’t go.”

She turned to face him again. Harry was still stunned by her confession and could barely put into words what he was feeling. He decided there was only one way was to show her - to make himself perfectly clear.

He took another step closer and before he knew it he was kissing her. Kissing Hermione. It felt so strange and yet so completely right. Her mouth and body fit with his perfectly as if she were made for him, and he for her.

He did not now how long the kiss had lasted, until he realized he needed some air. Harry reluctantly pulled his mouth away and leaned his forehead against hers. “Hermione,” he breathed.

He heard a sob. He pulled away a bit to examine her face. Yes, Hermione was crying again but she was also smiling. Her beautiful face was radiant.

“Harry - that was…wow.” She was at a loss for words, for the possibly the first time ever.

“Yeah, it was.” He grinned, relieved.

“So I take it you do return my feelings?” Hermione asked.

Harry nodded. He did. He loved her. “Yes, I love you, Hermione. I really do.”

He was surprised how easy it was to say. He was also surprised by the sudden strength and resolve that filled his heart and soul. He knew what he had to do. Dumbledore was right; love really was the most powerful magic.

He held her face in his hands and gently kissed her once more.

“Hermione, I will come back to you. I promise.”

“Alive?” She whispered.

“Yes, alive.” Harry said, only this time he knew that he was telling the truth. He had to come back to her. She would be waiting for him.

“Then go.” Hermione took one of Harry’s hands and kissed it. “Remember that I love you.”

“I know. I love you, too.” Harry said as she let go of his hand. He turned away from her, faced the veil and took a deep breath before walking through it.

Miss Mady, I thought it was a lot like the Pirates of the Caribbean kiss of Will and Elizabeth in the teaser trailer of AWE. There's a pirate war going alll around of them and they kiss and Will says something like "Will you marry me?" he he... though I don't really see it as a H/Hr... or actually, as a JKR.

I imagine them, as many of you, hidding of death eaters, during the hunt of the horcruxes. I've always thought of their relationship as something that should be kind of secret. So, even if it happened, they would exactly go around being all open about it. I'll try to think of a good scene of that, and write it later....

Cheesy fics back by popular demand...this time, I have outdone myself...this snippet has been in the works for the last 15 minutes...say cheese thumbup.gif

Eerie silence enveloped them, as they sat crouched behind a rock. The screams, curses and lights of the battle began to fade, as fighting shifted towards Hogesmeade village and the more numerous Death Eaters pressed their advantage.

Harry and Hermione had been in the thick of the conflict a mere half hour previously. Despite fighting to the best of their ability, and admittedly, outperforming many of Lord Voldemort's servants, a stray blasting curse had impacted Hermione just below the knee, and she collapsed on top of Harry. Just then, he had been dueling with two other masked Dark followers, and by chance, Hermione had saved him from a Killing curse that flew overhead in the next second.

Taken off-guard, Harry saw Hermione's predicament. He would later never quite remember how he and Hermione managed to evade detection, but the next moment he remembered, they were crouching behind a rock, intently listening for any sign of danger...

"Hermione, your leg's nearly torn off...we need help. Stay here, I'll go and find Madam Pomfrey..."

"Harry, no, I'm..." - she began to answer, but never finished.

She watched in horror how Harry suddenly collapsed, clutching his forehead in his arms.

"Harry! Harry, are you all right?" Hermione asked in a shaky voice.

"He's coming..." Harry whispered, still facing the ground.

White-faced, and stricken with fear, Hermione could not utter a response. Harry managed to look up at her, his scar still throbbing quite painfully.
They locked gazes, and Harry could not help admiring Hermione even on the brink of death. She had been with him - always, never left his side, through thick and thin.

They had faced death and danger many times, and she had saved him many times. Hermione, Harry realized, had become an irreplaceable part of his life. He loved her. Yes, he did, and it was now or never. They had been side to side up until now. This time, though, the fight was not theirs - it was his.

"Hermione..." - he rasped, but found words failed him.

He inched closer to her, and could see the fear in her eyes even clearer...but was there something else too? He did not have time to ponder that thought. All he knew, was that her lips had made contact with his...in a last kiss. He reveled in it, noting how sweet Hermione was...his Hermione. He broke the kiss off, and suddenly,

"HARRY POTTER!"

"Hermione...look at me" he told her, and her tear-strained eyes looked up. "I love you. I always have, and I always will."

"Harry..." she whispered, but it was too late...he had gone to meet his fate.
hexonjellybeans12
Okay, had to do it...I'm adding my version of the "crouching kiss" scene. For those of you who also prowl FF.net, this was in a fanfic of mine, so I'm not plagerizing, I swear!

“He doesn’t know you’re here, does he?” Ginny asked.

“Who?” Hermione asked innocently.

“Don’t play coy. Harry. Harry doesn’t know you’re here, does he?”

“No, he doesn’t. And I don’t plan on him knowing, either,”

“Well, you just ran out of luck,” Ginny visibly paled and pointed behind Hermione. Harry was making his way over to them, his hair messier than usual, his clothes splattered with blood, and his eyes blazing. Hermione stood up, and dusted herself off, which only succeeded to spread the blood onto more parts of her sweatshirt. She crossed her arms over her chest, and tried to look defiant, even though she was shaking from head to toe. She saw Ginny quickly help Draco up and hobble away from them. Hermione didn’t blame her. If looks could kill, she’d be dead forty times over. She took a step back as Harry approached her.

“What the bloody hell are you doing here?” he asked her in a deathly quiet voice. That voice was dangerous, and she knew it. She wasn’t afraid of Harry hurting her; he’d never do that, not on purpose, anyway, but that voice both scared the life out of her and sent shivers down her spine simultaneously.

“I-I told you I would,” she said, stuttering involuntarily.

“What happened to Lavender and Parvarti?” he growled, his hands clenching into fists. She could feel the magic radiating from him.

“They let me go,” she said.

“They what?!” at this point, the deadly quiet voice was abandoned, and the loud, angry voice surfaced. “Why the hell did they let you go? I told them specifically that no one went in, and no one went out!”

“We had a talk, I realized some things, and they let me go,” she was shivering by this point, and not just because she was soaked to the bone. “Really, they were just trying to help.”

“Help?! How the bloody hell is that helping, pray tell?” she took a few steps back, but his hand clamped down gently onto her arm. “I asked you to stay there for me. I asked you, and you told me you would.”

“I’m sorry, but there are some promises I can’t keep,” tears sprang to her eyes as she wriggled out of his grasp to angrily wipe them away. A spell narrowly missed their heads, and Harry pulled them both behind a large boulder. They were both breathing heavily, and Harry’s grip on her arm tightened slightly.

“You shouldn’t be here,” he said gravely, poking his head around the corner to see if they were in immediate danger of attack.

“I have just as much right to be here as you do,” she said defiantly. He took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“You don’t understand! I need to know you’re safe. Please, go back up to the castle and wait for me there,”

“You know I can’t do that,”

“Why not? Please, I need to know you’re not in danger,”

“I’m not going to go over what we said last night, Harry. I’m staying, and that’s that,”

“Hermione, I swear to Merlin, don’t make me carry you back to that castle!”

“I’m not going!”

“Yes you are!”

“No I’m not!”

“Yes, you are!”

“Why do you care so bloody much?” she had raised her voice by this point, and the tears flowed freely.

“Because I love you, okay?” the words came like a flood of water, and Harry immediately clamped a hand over his mouth.

Time seemed to freeze, and Hermione could hear nothing, sense nothing, feel nothing. It was as if her entire nervous system shut down, and the only thing going on was the involuntary actions like breathing and heartbeat. Harry held his head in his hands.

“What was that?” she asked her voice barely more than a whisper. The air seemed to grow colder, and she shivered a bit. If this was a dream, she prayed that she wouldn’t wake up. This was too good to be true, she was certain of it. Since when did her dreams come true? This wasn’t real, she thought with a feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach.

Harry looked up, his face pale and worn, yet surprisingly boyish. He sighed.

“I love you,” he said, with a bit of a defensive air. A few moments passed while Hermione digested this information, like an old computer. Her system was in slow-motion overdrive. She hadn’t even realized that about five minutes of silence has lapsed, and that Harry was taking it differently than what he should have.

“I-I’m sorry,” he said, looking straight ahead of him. “I shouldn’t have said anything at all; I know you don’t feel the same. But that’s okay; my feelings aren’t your problem.” He sniffed from the cold, shivering all over.

“Harry, look at me,” she said, taking his chin and forcing him to look at her. There was a sadness in his eyes, and she was glad that she wouldn’t have to break his heart. “Did you mean it?” He nodded slowly, obviously ashamed at himself. A moment of silence passed, and then something happened that surprised both parties, and many of the close bystanders. Hermione grabbed the collar of his t-shirt and brought his lips crashing onto hers. Harry, she could tell, was surprised at first, but quickly got over his shock and began kissing her back. The kiss became quite passionate, and both Harry and Hermione left the world behind for a few minutes. At long last, they broke apart for lack of oxygen, and Harry rested his forehead against hers, his warm breath mixing with hers.

“I love you too,” she whispered, one hand on his cheek, wiping away the rain.

“Since when?” he asked, trying to catch his breath.

“For a long time. You?”

“For a long time, but I only just realized it at four this morning,” he leaned in and kissed her again. Hermione found, with great amusement, that she was right when she had said he wasn’t a bad kisser. Tears poured down her face, some of joy, and some of sorrow, and she shivered uncontrollably. Harry broke away and looked at her in concern.

“What’s the matter, love?” he asked tenderly. She smiled slightly as she heard him call her ‘love’. He wiped away her tears with the pads of his thumbs, and she started to cry harder. “Please tell me.”

“Why now?”

“Why now what?”

“I mean, why did we have to realize our feelings right before the Final Battle? You could die, Harry,”

“I’m not going to die, I promise,”

“You don’t know that,” she sobbed, smoothing her hands over his face, his shoulders, his chest, every part of him she could reach. It seemed that the reality of the situation had finally sunk in, and she wasn’t taking it well. “You don’t know that.”

“Yes, I do,” he said determinedly. “I have to come back to you, don’t I?” he chuckled.

“This isn’t funny,” the tears just kept coming. Why was she so emotional all of a sudden? “I don’t want you to die.”

“I don’t want me to die, either,” he said, pulling her into his lap, and resting his head on her shoulder. “But this is something I can’t avoid. You know that.” She nodded and buried her face in his shoulder, soaking his t-shirt even more. A cackle rang out across the field.

“Potter? Where have you gone? Not run away, have you?” Voldemort’s voice carried. “You can run, little boy, but you can’t hide.” Hermione looked fearfully at Harry.

“That’s my cue,” he said. Hermione sobbed even harder and nearly broke his ribs with a hug. He gave her a lingering kiss and stood up, his wand ready.

“I love you,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to her forehead. She could feel his touch sear its way across her skin, warming her, despite the frigid rain.

“I love you, too,” she said, giving his hand one final squeeze. “You’d better come back to me.”

“I will, I promise,” and with that, he was gone.

I've been sitting on something for one of my fics I am writing and I thought I would include it here. It is their first kiss in one of my fics and I haven't posted it yet.

Perhaps you guys could tell me what you think. Thanks

“What happened to you Harry? Where did you go and what did you do that was so secret you couldn’t tell me…and…and Ron? You left us without so much as goodbye, and yes maybe I am hurt and upset about that. I was so worried about you and for months I cried myself to sleep over you.” She was in tears now but she couldn’t stop. “Then you come back here and you won’t tell me what’s wrong with you! You don’t even see you’re hurting the very people who care about you. Well, ###### you!”

Harry’s eyes blazed angrily at her as he paced back and forth in front of the fire. Heat was radiating off him like nothing Hermione had ever felt and her heart beat wildly at the obvious tension between the two of them. It was very late and the last moments of their holiday was barely felt as the two friends stared shakily at one another. This roaring row was bound to happen so she crossed her arms defiantly and welcomed the challenge. She was not going to let him off so easily.

“Leave me alone Hermione. This…thing…about me is not your concern!” His voice was oddly calm but she could tell he was using magic to control something deep inside of him that she couldn’t quite recognize. Something was definitely different about Harry, but for the life of her she couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t trust her.

“Once you were my only concern. I guess a lot has changed since then.” Harry’s words had stung her to the core and she couldn’t deny that it hurt to see him so torn up inside. She sighed when he returned his gaze to the dieing fire and she backed away from him sadly. “I’m going to bed,” she sighed heavily and turned toward the steps leading to her room.

Harry couldn’t let her go again, not without making her understand. He stood up and desperately grabbed a hold of her arm, his hands felt strange against her skin and she flipped her head around to stare at him. The look she gave him would have stopped any death eater cold in their tracks but he ignored it and twisted her body around to face him. It was then he noticed her soft pink lips and her eyes that were blazing defiantly at him. He couldn’t stop himself any longer.

“Harry…what…” She looked half frightened half amused when he wrapped one strong arm around her waist and with his other hand reached up to gently tilt her chin up to greet him. At the sudden closeness her body betrayed her act of indifference to him and for once in her young life she was speechless. His green eyes possessed her own brown ones and for one crazy moment all she wanted was to feel his chafed lips upon her own. Harry’s anger seemed to have transformed into something else all together and she felt her knees give way a little when he leaned down low to softly whisper in her ear.

“When will you stop being so ###### stubborn”? His deep voice soothed her wounded heart and she felt her resolve weaken and her heart race excitedly. This was most unexpected and yet it seemed inevitable.

“I…I…I’m not the one being stubborn,” she replied faintly, no longer interested in the argument when he was standing so close to her. She could smell his musky aftershave and she tensed …completely unable to speak. She felt his hand caress the soft curve of her jaw and she knew what was about to happen but she was powerless to stop it. Her mind screamed to run away, but her body ached for his touch.

Harry held her to him roughly, loving how the soft curves of her body seemed to blend into his own. Her hair smelled like summer rain, intoxicating his senses until he could no longer believe they were just friends. Before they could gain control of what was happening he crushed his lips to hers, feeling her open up to him eagerly almost desperately. She moaned as he used his tongue to explore the soft contours of her mouth and for one brief moment he wildly thought of apparating them both to his bedroom. She felt his whole body lean into her and it took every ounce of will power she had to withdrawal from his warmth and strength. The kiss ended almost as quickly as it had started and his heavy breathing indicated that he was just as affected as she was. She pushed him away not daring to look into his eyes. He stepped toward her, but she ran hoping that the safety of her room could dispel her desire to run into his arms with abandon. Harry was left to stare after her, hoping that his impulsive behavior wouldn’t be the end of their struggling friendship. He had risked everything for one kiss and after spending the restless night thinking about their situation he realized he wouldn’t have traded it for anything.

He had fallen hard for Hermione Granger. ###### it! The last thing he needed was to be in love with anyone let alone his best friend. He sighed pathetically and covered his eyes with his right arm as he whispered into the night. “She hates me. I know it.”

EDIT: I just realized that I posted this in the H/Hr forums. I must have forgotten and thought it was in the challenges forum. Should I take it down?

First of all sorry for my english, is not my first language. sad.gif
I always thought that the last book would end very much like the first book. And I remember that JKR said that the Mirror of Erised would have an important at the end of the series.
So for me the ideal end could be a mix between angst-R/Hr-and of course H/hr
Again sorry for my english but try to picture this:
With an incredible effort Harry manage not only to apparate safely by the lake near Howgarts but he made Hermione and Ron to apparate too.
Hermione was on her knees trying to stop the bleading from Ron´s head.
Ron was dying... and Harry knew that. He had to go back where the fight was, he owned to his family, to Dumbledore, to Hagrid (who was now dead too) and to Hermione and Ron. He wanted to give them a chance to be happy together.
- Harry, what do we do now?- said Hermione crying looking at Ron- Ron is... he needs to get to St Mungos... and you need t..
- I have to go back- said Harry quickly
Hermione tied strongly her jacket around Rons head and stand up
- You can´t go back.. you are too weak to apparate again.
- Ok!! I Know just let me thi..
But something got Harrys attention.. it was a mirror behind Hermione. He knew that mirror.
- Harry.. what?
-Hermione look... it´s Dumbledore´s mirror. The mirror of Erised.
Harry was fascinated... why now.. why here? He knew magic well enough to be sure that it wasn´t there by chance... If the mirror was there it was becouse it´s supposed to be. Or becouse Dumbledore wanted it to be.
He got closer to the mirror, the sun was rising and he could hear birds singing in the forbiden forest. Like there was´t a fight or people dying not too far from there.
Another step and he looked into it.
What he saw left him breathless. It was beautilful. He saw Howgarts open again, children laughing, McGonagall singing happy in her office... and Ron... and Hermione... both happy, smiling at each other..... (more descriptions, but you know, poor english)
But, there was someone missing in that picture.... Harry... And so he knew... and he smiled. That was what he truly desire. And then he saw Dumbledore and his parents, and Sirius... only for a second... but they were all there, nodding and aprouving. " For neither can live...."
He turned... and looked Hermione into her eyes..
- Harry.... what...?- She said crying-.......... no- she said- Harry no!!! Please I beg you... there has to be another way......you can´t.... it´s stupid.
"While the other..."
But Harry stopped her with a finger on her lips.
-Hermione listen to me....
(No conversation to read here... ir actually takes place but just imagine that you "have to imagine it".Rowling describes the sun rising and more birds , or the fight that is going on some palce else....)

When he finished he caressed Hermione´s face and getting closer very slowly he kissed her. He then run to the mirror grabed his wand and with all his hate and love and smiling for what he knew it was about to happen shouted.. AVADA KEDABRA!!!

Ok, so you really have to imagine it written by Rowling, with a good english and longer...and everything....
You might say is not very Harmonian.. but thats because like to think about another conversation between Harry and Hermione long before this angnty end.

Late at night
Harry felt weird, he knew he felt lonely ,but he wasnt sure that that was because Ginny was far away... He loved Ginny, yes. But know he was´t sure of how he loved her.
He heard a noise behind him.
- You should be sleeping- He said looking through the window
- So you... - said Hermione.
- Yeah well- he said smiling and moving so Hermione could sit beside him- too many things to think about.
- Yeah... and too many snores from the sleeping bag next to me- Said Hermione rolling her eyes.
Harry laughed at that, he was so used to Ron snoring that he didn´t noticed that any more.
Then he was unsure of what to say next.
-Listen.. Hermione..
She looked up at him
- I just wanted to let you know... that I´m happy for you guys- He said quietly.- I know that I didn´t say much before.. but remember it was a bussy time... an I guess I forgot.
- Were you surprised?- Said Hermione with an unreadble look in her face.
-Uh... yes, well no...I mean.. it was pretty obvious, wasn´t it?
-On my behalf?
- Well, I guess Ron was obvious to me...- Said Harry smiling- but... it´s a good thing you felt the same way.
- I love Ron- said Hermione looking down- I really do... And if you can´t have what you want...at least I got the nest best thing...
Harry looked surprised at her..
- The next best... what do you m...
- Harry!! Hermione!!!! They are here!!!- Shouted Neville from dowstairs.

And so... Harry starts to think about this conversation later in the book, and at the same time realizes some feelings he has for hermione, for ginny, but thinks obout ron aswell......

And I stop writting now because I boring you guys...

Don't worry for your english, I think is good. Just a few grammar mistakes, but who hasn't them? English is not my first lenguish either, so don't worry, me, just like you, have problems with it. But, don't worry, you do it right!

Harry mutely nodded and Hermione couldn’t help but notice the foreign and wonderful emotion that was just waiting to be released from within him. She wondered if he even knew how often he wore his emotions on his sleeves, and if he knew why that was as likely as any other reason for why he failed Occlumency. Taking a chance she had almost taken back in her fifth year, when she wasn’t nearly as wise about her own feelings, she stood on her tiptoes and gave Harry a light but loving kiss.

As she pulled away a gust of wind swept through the canopy covered area and a tendril of hair escaped from behind her ear. Harry lifted a shaking hand from her waist and tucked it behind her ear before he pulled her flush to his body and murmured into her ear, “Did I ever tell you that you’re a really good dancer.”

Hermione laughed feeling happier than she had ever felt before in her life. After a moment she squeezed Harry tightly to her as their music continued, but their dance had actually just begun.

That's the best one yet, I think. Nice choice of words and perfect combo of fluff and seriousness.

One of the main problems with H/Hr fics: fluffy overload!

A realistic DH scene has to be Harry's POV though...

I imagine a kiss scene with Hermione in Harry's POV would be mega-nervous! Even if they just kiss without talking in the middle of a tense situation, I think his thoughts will be written in a way that indicates real akwardness. Not the "firm" Harry of fanfics.

I mean, it's his best friend. She's even a better friend than Ron, or at least acts like it...
i_miss_snuffles
This is how I see Harry and Hermione's first kiss happening.

QUOTE

He knew what he had to do. This was no longer a matter of choice, but a duty. The fate of the Wizarding world relied on him, and he couldn’t possibly be able to live with himself if he gave up now.

Reluctantly, he looked over to where Hermione and Ron were standing. Ron’s face was pale beneath the soot and blood; his eyes were transfixed on the space beyond him. Hermione’s face was, if possible, even more pale than Ron’s. Her eyes began to glisten in tears, and Harry turned away. For some reason he couldn’t bear to face Hermione. He sunk to the floor, burying his face in his hands.

“Harry, look at me,” Hermione pried Harry’s hands from his face. Slowly, he lifted his head to meet her gaze, his eyes threatening to release the tears that had begun to form. He looked behind her shoulder to see Ron still as a statue, the same blank stare evident on his face.
“Harry, oh Harry,” she suddenly threw her arms around him, embracing him in a tight hug. Wrapping his arms around Hermione, he noticed the tears had finally escaped him. She loosened her grip, pulling back to meet Harry’s gaze once again. “I know I’ve said this before, Harry, but you really are a great wizard,” she stopped as she wiped the tears out of her eyes, “You have something Voldemort doesn’t.”

“Love, I know. Dumbledore told me in our fifth year, when he told me about the prophecy.”

“Yes, Harry, love. Remember that, no matter what happens, you have love, and nobody, not even Voldemort, can destroy that.”

“I will.”

“Good,” Hermione said as she leaned forward, and did something that she had never done before, and gave him a quick peck on the lips. “I love you Harry, remember that.”

Harry knew, that no matter what happened with Voldemort, he would remember.

Short, sweet, and not too sappy.

I'm trying to down play their first kiss in my head, because I've read so many over the top, but still beatiful as hell, romantic versions and 'know' JKR isn't going to have, you know, the rain drenched kiss so passionate, it stops even us HHR shippers in our tracks to blush for them!

That said, your above kiss seems very probable. I do kinda' hope though--there's a little more to it. Much as I'm not expecting it, I'm hoping it.

I would much rather prefer an unlikely, passionate kiss in the rain, than a little peck..but I just don't see JKR going that route. Meh.

But hey..a small kiss is better than no kiss, right?

Now here's to hoping there will be one in DH *crosses fingers*

If Harry and Hermione are the couple-to-be--then they HAVE to have the best kiss of the series. Tis' mandatory (don't worry we'll get our passionate rain kiss) I just don't think it'll be their first one. blush.gif

Ohhh..how does this sound?

Ok, so Hermione gives Harry a little kiss before he defeats Voldemort. He can't stop thinking about the kiss while he makes Voldie go bye bye. So afterwards, they both run to each other and kiss passionately. biggrin.gif

I do think that the kiss will be in a Adventure scene. Sort of how everything stops for a moment and there is only the two of them. Add in some rain, and you've got your kiss.

Though I find it quite funny that many have included rain in their first kiss combo. I've always written on what I would want for my first kiss. Rain and chaos surrounding me, and I feel in a way its what will happen to Hermione and Harry. Not a quiet collected sceanery for sure.

Ravenclaw(d69)
I think it would go something like this.

Hermione would tell Harry that if theres anything she learned from this whole experience (horcrux hunting). Is that anything can happen at anytime so if theres something you have to say you have to do it as soon as possible. She than express her feelings for Harry all through the years. Harry, listening to this in the beggining would be very uncomfortable and unsure as to why she was talking about their first year so emotionally. Than slowly he would start to understand what she was telling him. He would be so shocked and suprised that he would be quick to reject her and say that unfortunaly he never felt that way. (or something like that). she would nod as though she knew this is what he would say and lean in to kiss him. he would be taken aback and first, then finds himself starting to kiss her back. she leaves saying that she hopes they will always be friends and hes left to ponder his thought alone. he is very confused and his mind is racing at this point. over the next few weeks he starts to notice little things that he finds appealing in Hermione and is unsure of why he's thinking this way. like he'll find that she looks really during one of their talks. allowing himself to think about hermione in any romantic sense will be a loooong process that takes most the book.

wow i didnt think that i would randomly go on like that so wow

i better stop before i start writing a fanfic

I think the problem with alot of H/Hr fanfics (and their kiss scenes) is that they're written like romance novels. We can't forget that this series is primarily action/adventure and the romance is supposed to be intertwined as a subplot. And the characters are not all gushy emotional hopeless romantics. I usually switch off when Harry starts talking poetic to Hermione or something. rolleyes.gif

That's exactly what I need! I hate all the mushy gushy stuff. It takes away from the whole flow. Because of all the OBHWF crap that has happened lately, all's I need is at the end for there to be a desperate moment where Harry and Hermione realize that they might never see each other again and that they really care about each other if not love each other. I want to see a little regret from the both of them: Hermione for caring too much about her jealousy about Ron, and Harry for taking Hermy for granted all these years. I want a fleeting, surprise kiss that only lasts for a small moment and catches us all by surprise, including Harry and Hermione. And if we can't have them live happily ever after with 7 children in the epilogue, then I'll be satisfied with just that. But no less. JKR owes us at least that.

~*excerpt taken from the story Anything by Seersucker*~

It was almost like old times. They were sitting in the Gryffindor common room in the dark. The fire was slowly dying out, but it still cast a fairly bright glow. They were tired, beyond tired, as the days events slowly began to take their toll. Ron was spending the night in the infirmary for overnight observation. It had to be well past two o’clock in the morning and here they were, slumped together, each fighting sleep so they could spend just a few minutes more with each other.

He sat there for a few minutes, her head was resting against his as they both faced the fire. He took a few shaky breaths (he loved the feeling he got when she was around) and then softly began to speak.

“Hermione, are you awake?” she didn’t answer for a moment but then she lifted her head from his shoulder and smiled shyly.

“Sorry, I think I just kind of dozed off for a moment.”

“Oh, I didn’t mean to wake you.” He said mentally kicking himself. She smiled as she shifted to face him more.

“No, its fine, I wanted to spend some time with you before we went to sleep.” He smiled as he looked down at his hands which she was playing around with lightly. “You know, today was pretty scary. I thought for a moment—I thought we were going to lose Ron.”

“I know, and I’m sorry that I’ve brought you into all of this…if you want to just stay here where it’s safe—” she put her finger up to his lips, effectively silencing him.

“Harry, I don’t know how many times we’re going to go through this conversation but my answer is always going to be the same. No, I don’t want to be holed up somewhere only slightly safer, I don’t want to be away from the two best friends I’ve ever had, and frankly, I don’t want to be away from you.” She looked up into his eyes boldly. He held his breath. That was more than a friendly thing to say.

“Good, because I don’t want you to be anywhere else.” He was feeling bold. Maybe it was being back in the Gryffindor common room with all that Gryffindor courage, whatever it was, he was feeling brave. She smiled and he brushed her hair behind her ear as he leaned in slowly. Her smile faltered as she realized what he was doing. She leaned in slowly to meet him half way as their lips brushed against each other.

It was soft and deliciously sweet. It was so innocent, so perfect. They weren’t worried about what the other was thinking or what would happen after they pulled away. They allowed themselves to live in the moment, if only for a moment, and simply enjoy each other.

They pulled apart and smiled nervously. He took his hand and threaded it into her hair as he pulled her back in for another kiss. This one was just a little more serious a little more emotional and much more passionate. He distantly felt her hands wrap around his neck and draw him closer to her. They reluctantly pulled away, breathing heavily.

“Merlin,” he muttered as she gave him a disapproving, lopsided grin. “That was…” his brow furrowed was there a word to describe it? She smiled as she kissed his nose playfully.

“So does this mean—” She was interrupted by Ron walking through the portrait hole.

“Oh, you guys are already awake.” Ron seemed thrown off by this fact for a moment before continuing. “I know where the next Horcrux is.” Immediately his mind left thoughts of Hermione and moved straight to business. His face got serious.
[end]

To me this is such a beautiful kiss scene. It's not overly done, and has just the right amount of fluff. They aren't all mushy and they seem very in-character to me.
If you have not read this story, I highly recommend it. The characters are very believable and its such a wonderfully written story. Again its Anything by Seersucker

You know, I sort of picture their first kiss as something very private with just the two of them. I would rather have that because it's the exact opposite of the H/G kiss in HBP. Hermione wouldn't need to "corner" him like Cho sort of did in OoTP.
I can imagine a continuation of "books and cleverness ..." speech from PS/SS only this time, she actually finishes her speech. And then they kiss. Tentatively at first, but then it turns more passionate because it may be the last time they ever see each other because they both know that it's Harry who has to move on to the final task (i.e. face Voldemort) and Hermione gets left behind.
He comes back to her in the end, of course. The revelations of their feelings for each other as well as the kiss is what gives Harry his focus and his strength to defeat Voldemorte in the end so that he can return to Hermione. wub.gif

Sigh.
Whatever happens, I hope that it's written beautifully. I want it to be a kiss that's full of the love they both deserve.

okay, so here's my take on what's gonna happen...

My crush and I...(people say that I look like Hermione [that's crap] and he looks like Harry [which is rather true, but he's ten times hotter...]) are in the youth room and he's like...

SERIOUSLY,

I've always imagined Harry and Hermione in the rain, it's just the two of them...and Harry says to Hermione, "Hermione...we've been friends forever and there's something I need to tell you,"

"Yeah?" Hermione asks hopefully...

"gosh, I've never been good at expercing my feelings..."

"Oh, well I find it pretty easy." and then Hermione will say how she feels about Harry.

"What?" Harry'll ask, trying to register what happened. Then he'll realize and grab her and they'll kiss like they've never kissed before.

Yeah I think that would be sweet too. I hope it is different than the others he has had, because
it will be much more special.

And I don't want his kiss to be a cliched romance novel kiss. I like the idea of them just talking about the war, and Harry trying once again to persuade Hermione to stay behind and then she says a mini-confession. Not where she says she loves him, but where she says something that reveals her feelings. I read a story on portkey and I can't remember what it is but i remember part of the scene: Harry and Hermione are talking/arguing about Hermione staying behind while Harry goes and fights. Hermione says something like, "I won't stay behind Harry!" and he says, "Look, Ron is staying behind, Ron understands," and she says, "Well Ron's not in love with you." and for some reason, I just really liked that. It wasn't too cheesy in my opinion, and it wasn't OOC...at least to me... I don't know, I just like that... wub.gif

Nora
I love Lori's version of H/Hr's first kiss in her fic "Paradigm of Uncertainty" (which, btw, is the best H/Hr fic ever). It's set 10 years after Hogwarts, but the situation is similar to the one we might be getting in book 7:

QUOTE
Hermione followed him up the stairs and pushed open the door to his room to find him tossing clothes into his trunk, along with various items from his room that he seemed to be grabbing at random. He glanced at her, registering her presence, but said nothing, just went back to whatever he was doing. Whatever he'd seen at the I.D., it had been the last straw. The composure he'd had at the hospital was gone...he was just reacting now, she could see it in his face.

"Harry...I'm so sorry about Lefty," she said quietly. "Is he all right?

He shook his head. "Depends on your definition of the term. He'll live, but he'll have to do so without his left leg and his right hand." Hermione shut her eyes. "She attacked trainees, Hermione. They couldn't defend themselves and Lefty lost body parts saving them, just as she knew he would. This will end, right now." He kept stuffing belongings into his trunk.

"What's all this?" she said, afraid she knew the answer.

"I'm leaving," he said, his tone clipped and controlled.

"For how long?" she asked, keeping her own tone as casual as possible.

At that, he stopped and looked up at her. "I'm not coming back. I'm leaving for good."

She took two long strides towards him. "What are you talking about? This is your home!"

"Not anymore. I'll still cover my portion of the mortgage if that's what's worrying you."

Hermione could hardly believe her ears. "What the bloody hell's the matter with you?" she shouted. "You think I care one jot about money at a time like this? You can't just leave!"

He straightened, his eyes blazing. "I can, and I will!" he shouted back. "As long as I stay here and do nothing I'm endangering the entire household!" He brushed past her to scoop up some books. She turned in circles where she stood, following his fevered progress around the room.

"Have you taken leave of your senses? It's an exercise in futility! As long as you still care about us he can still use us against you, no matter how far away you run! You might as well stay here where at least you can see it coming!"

"No! He's doing all this for a reason and it has nothing to do with you. He wants me, he's going to get me. Once I come after him he'll leave you alone." Hermione was starting to wonder if he meant "you" as in "all of you" or if he just meant her.

She shook her head, tears threatening. "I can't believe you'd do this to me."

He wheeled on her, his eyes blazing. "For someone as smart as you are, you're awfully thick sometimes! Don't you see? I'm doing this for you! Voldemort has taken from me everyone I've ever really cared for in my life...my parents, Sirius, Hagrid, Dumbledore...and then he took Ron too, and we both know neither of us ever really got over that. I thought I dealt with him for good but I should have known better; he's come back and he will make me pay! I can't stand by and do nothing while he sets about finishing the job! If I have to pay for challenging him then I'll pay with my own life, not yours!" Hermione shrank away from his fury. He held up his right hand, palm towards her. In the center was a small comma-shaped scar that he'd had for years. "You see this scar?"

She nodded numbly. "You...you cut yourself on a piece of a broken crystal ball..."

"No. That's what I told you. The cut that left this scar was made by my own hand. The night after..." He paused and gathered himself together. "The night after Ron died, I snuck out of Hogwarts and went to his gravesite. I took out a knife and cut my own hand, and I made a promise to him. I swore, in my own blood over his grave, that I'd never let what happened to him happen to you. I wanted to leave a scar just so I'd never forget, as if I ever could." He reached out and laid his hand on her cheek; she could almost feel the scar burning against her skin. "Don't you understand a thing? You are all that I have left in the world! He's not going to get you, not ever, not while I live. That's why I have to get as far away as possible, I don't care how much it hurts!"

She shook her head, equal parts touched and furious. "We're not children anymore, Harry. I'm not some swooning medieval damsel. I don't need you to defend me, and I don't want your misguided chivalry! If you want to play the martyr then you'd better play it to the hedgerows because I won't be a very appreciative audience! You want to protect me? Fine! Let us protect each other!"

He stepped away, dismissing her words with a quick shake of his head. "It's not that simple."

"I don't care!" He turned away, apparently deciding she was a lost cause, and slammed his trunk closed. He hauled it off the bed and with a wave of his hand it floated after him as he strode out of the room and down the stairs. Hermione followed close behind. When they reached the second-floor gallery she murmured a few words of her own and his trunk thumped unceremoniously to the ground. He spun around, his face angry.

"Let me go, Hermione!"

"No! You're mad if you think I'm just going to stand at the window and stoically wave my hanky while you ride gallantly away! You think you're giving me the hard truth? How's this for hard truth: You *can't* just walk out that door and cut yourself out of my life, because it's never going to be over between us, do you hear me, Harold James Potter? Never!" she yelled at him. Some distant part of her mind was aware that they were both crossing The Line, that boundary between friendship and something unspoken that they'd drawn for themselves so many years ago. They never spoke of it but were always conscious of its existence; whatever lay beyond The Line, Hermione was eyeball to eyeball with it at this moment.

His hands rose to clutch at his own hair. "It's the only thing I can do!" he cried. "I can't fight him, he's everywhere and nowhere! How can I fight what I can't see? I have to get away and find him!" She saw that he was just barely keeping his emotions in check.

"You'll have to go through me first!" she screamed. The tears were very close now.

He suddenly dropped his hands and closed the distance between them in two long strides. He reached out and grasped her rougly by the upper arms. She stared up into his face, made strange by near-panic and raw emotion. He was hanging on by a very thin thread. "You listen to me," he said, his hoarse voice intense and near cracking. "It's the only way, understand? I have to go!" His fingers gripped her arms like vises, transmitting his trembling through her shoulders to shiver through her entire body. His green eyes were brimming with tears which began to run down his cheeks as she watched; she was only marginally aware of the tears streaming down her own face. "I'm going and you can't stop me!" His breath was coming in huge, ragged gasps now. Hermione couldn't speak, she just stood there helplessly while he shook her by the arms as punctuation. "You can't stop me...you can't...you...you..." His voice gave out and his face crumbled; he stared into her eyes for a few agonizing seconds, shaking his head. His gaze was filled with speechless disbelief, as if he'd never known himself until that moment.

An ancient and decaying wall inside Hermione's heart collapsed with a mighty crash and she threw her arms around his neck with a cry, swallowing past the hoarse sobs that rose in her throat. He clutched her to his chest with panicky tightness, burying his face in her hair. Her fingers dug into the flesh of his back but no matter how she tried she couldn't hold him any tighter. "Harry, I don't..." she began, then all at once found that she could not continue because his lips were in the way, pressing urgently against her own. For a shocked second Hermione wasn't sure what was happening, then she opened her eyes to find Harry just staring at her with a dumbfounded expression on his face; her mouth was tingling from what had not been an imaginary kiss. Did that just happen? she thought. Her mind was racing; We're crossing The Line! it yammered. This will change everything! Your life will never be the same! She ignored its warnings; what else could she do? She slid her hands around to the back of his neck and stood on tiptoe to bring her lips to his, hesitantly; his arms encircled her with light pressure to draw her closer. Once the contact was made, however, all restraint vanished as if a switch had been thrown. He plunged his fingers into her hair and she melted against him, tightening her arms around his shoulders as they kissed, caught up in a tidal wave of passion so intense Hermione had to wonder where it had come from...or perhaps it had been there all along, just biding its time.

Harry had kissed her before. Friendly peck on the cheek. Smacking and exaggerated (but innocuous) kiss hello. Chaste, closed-mouth smooch on New Year's Eve. She had hugged him as freely as she would a close female friend or a brother. He had changed clothes in front of her. She had cut his hair for him. He had seen her in nothing but a towel with her hair dripping water onto her shoulders. They had carried on conversations while in the same bathroom, he in the shower and she brushing her teeth at the sink. There was no mystery left there, no idiosyncracies left to be uncovered. At no time had there been any tension, because they'd had The Line and woe be to anyone who crossed it. They had certainly never kissed like this. The truth was that she'd never kissed anyone like this, and that included every boyfriend or lover she'd ever had. Her mind was spinning and spinning and her bones felt like they were liquefying inside her skin, his body heat warming her all over. Her neck arched, her head falling back so that she stared wonderingly at the ceiling of the gallery as his mouth moved down the pale column of her neck, her hands tangled restlessly in his unruly mop of hair. He took a breath and seemed about to speak; she dragged his lips back to hers, cutting off his words. She angled her head towards him, both of them bound up by a strange urgency that made her pull him closer, small sounds escaping her throat, and made him kiss her harder so she could scarcely breathe. Their positions shifted as Harry bent quickly, slipped his arm behind her knees and picked her up. She turned her head without breaking the kiss, holding onto him with one arm around his shoulders, as he carried her back to the archway through which they'd just come.
