I must say.. I never thought I'd end up posting in these forums. I'm a longtime H/G shipper (which may very well cause me to get my head bitten off in here , but I'm waving a peace flag here). I just want to say that it makes me so sad some of you guys will no longer be fans. And don't be so hard on JK... they are her characters after all. I know I have no room to talk because of what happened with my ship, but I still hope you guys will be fans and continue the journey to book 7 with everyone.

I have finished the book and if you havent please dont read it!

As you may know (whoever finished the book) the Harry and Hermione relationship seems to be heading to complete platonic. I'm a HHHUUGGE Harry/Hermione fan and i was sssso upset when nuthing happened at all between them but only between Ron and Hermione; which was a tremendous amount (mind my spelling) I have seriously losing hope in H/H but i really want it to happen!!!! Hermione and Ron seems to be heading to what I dread for a long time now!! please someone help me keep faith!

I am sso shocked with the book but love it non the less. Ginny and Harry? I mean oh my god! If we are saying that there is one book left and there is still progress in R/H ship than when would it be the time for Harry and Hermione. HBP went by ssso fast and i have no doubt so will the 7th book

O.k. I usually don't respond to these things but I had to respond to this. To all H/hr fans I really can't believe some of you are giving up. I love that couple and regardsless of if jk rowling puts them together or not I'm still going to prefrer them not R/hr. If you are true H/Hr fans you won't abandon them no matter what the outcome. Especially the writer's of fanfiction because you're not writing what JK R. is you're making it your own. I mean isn't that the whole point of fanfiction. Besides she could have put r/hr together but she didn't in this book. So to me that SAYS SOMETHING. But like I said before no matter the outcome. I'm still going to love H/Hr and if you are TRUE FANS of this ship you'll do the same.

Someone told me I should post this here and I plan to post it on every h/hr site I can find.

I just got finished with the Sixth book. I really not happy with seeing R/HR getting together or H/G relationshio either. I gonna keep my faith up and pray for the best.

Matty and vanhrh i will post the whole psychological dream interpretation in a day or two as i have to persue my sister to give me whole description.She is absoluetly a no shipper person, still she says that it can be a "strong emotional bond" between harry and hermione .i will post it here only.
And all those people who are losing hope in harmony ,give yourself some time .JKR can only give a story and idea,its on us that how we percieve it,we here believe that that harmony is beautiful and touching and can reason it properly,harmony will exist ,no matter where the story goes. And at last we have fanfiction as i completely agree with harhermlover2401
hide hbp in darkest corner if you are quitting harmony or face it and believe harmony will happen.

Thanks I needed that. I will always be a H/HR shipper no matter what canon turns out to be in the end, even if it is just in AU as long as someone out there will still be writing fanfics. I feel though that JKR has shot down our ship even if she didn't officially but R/HR together she will put them in book 7. If she hadn't changed Hermione's charactor so much by having her basicly abandon Harry in this book and taking away the special friendship bonding that has been building up for 5 books and just tossing it away, maybe I could still hold out hope. This is what hurt the most, they are still friends but don't seem close like before. Now Ginny,out of nowhere, is suppose to take Hermione's place and be Harry's strenght while just goggles at Ron.

something really stranger happened to me about portkey. I wasn't able to get in portkey for about two weeks. So I'0ve been a little lost.

Guys, I also hate Rowling for H/G... but they broke up. And I don't think they'll hook up again. No no.
Okay, I'm in some kind of euphoria, because I finished reading the book about half an hour ago, and I threw it and sat here.

But, now that I am relaxed I can think clearly.

While reading HBP I remember an essay that I believe I read here. It was called "What what she thinking?" And if I remember well, it had all the questions we'd have to ask Rowling in case H/Hr wouldn't hapen.
Something like "And then why did she made them go to the forest in Ootf?" You know... with all our big quotes and moments...
And I think that the person who write the essay was totally right, what was she (Rowling) thinking at making Hermione the most important female role in the series if she's not going to hook up with the most important male role?
Why all the H/Hr moments?
Why?
Why?
Why?
...

Rowling spend so much time and energy and everything you want in making Hermione so important to not hook her up with Harry...

I was so hopeful because Harry mentioned Hermione several times in the first chapters...

Well... not exactly like that, but my brother has the book and is not letting go...




I'm more hopeful for the next book... Ginny and Harry broke...

Luna, I heard? Yeah.. nice moment they spend in the Slughorn's party... they held hands... pretty... but apparently there'll be no Hogwarts in next book, so I doubt she'll be too close to Harry.. Apparently there'll be more H/Hr moments in the next book...

wow i thought i was the only one who threw my book and sat in a dazed after finishing it!
But I still have faith in Harry and Hermione there was just too many moments in OotP to let all of that go!There was no strong indication of Harry/Ginny that I remember in OotP. H/G makes no since because it was so rushed and it seems so weird....

Hey my name is Gretchen and this's my first time posting here so please be kind.
I've just finished reading the HBP and I'd would be lying if I were to say that I was not disappointed with this book; however, just because Harry and Hermione didn't get together in this one doesn't mean that we should giving up hope. Remember that this's not the final installment and we still have one more year left to go so don't loose faith.
The reason that made me fall in love with the idea of H/Hr is that their friendship is one of a kind and no matter what happen their love will never fade away. Even they might never get together like we hope they'd do, but friendship like this cannot be taken for granted.
I mean not all love story has to have the happy ending. Harry Potter books are not soap opera and J.K. Rowling is definitely saving the best for last. I wouldn't want to ruin the fun just yet by having Harry and Hermione get to together in the HBP. I do believe that Jo is a plot twister and she loves to just mislead her audience for them to keep interest in her books. Who would have thought that the Half Blood Prince would turn out to be Snape take that for example.
Even they might never get together it's not their faults, it's only the circumstances. And of course inspite of those circumstances they'll never stop loving. Keep on have faith in them we have done it for long why couldn't we wait a little bit longer until the truth reveal itself in the final book.
Harry and Hermione are meant to be and there's no one who can stand in a way of true love for long.

Friendship often ends by love, but love in friendship never ends.
