Come on and tell what your reaction will be if and when Harry and Hermione get together.
I know that what I'll do is jump up and down shouting "I knew it"
. I just wont be able to contain my excitement. I mean who is going to be able just stay calm.

I voted for "Go to R/Hr shippers sites and rub it in their faces", but since it's not there anymore, I'd probably shout "I knew it! I knew it!", even if it was 2 or 3 am, not to mention I'd probably be u for the next 12 hours from an adrenaline rush.

It'll be a combination - I'll probably shriek and then go and give the nearest person a huge kiss (I just really, really hope that it's not my little brother, because he'd never forgive me) and not go to sleep that night because of all the celebrations with you lot.
I voted for "be excited and not rub it in the R/Hrs faces" because that's not really me. We've had to endure a lot of adverse flack over the years from anti-H/Hrs, it's very true, but I know a lot more R/Hrs now than when I first entered the fandom, and I respect and like many of them. It'd be like chucking all their "niceness" back into their faces if I rubbed it to them.

I would love it if I could rub in in their faces. But I won't. I wouldn't want them doing that to me if R/Hr get together. The most I'd do is jump up and down, and then go back and re-read all the books again, looking for the time JKR forshadowed the relationship.

seriously that would be the greatest thing to happen, i might cry as well

i'd just be so happy. I chose number one by the way

I voted for "wear a wide grin all day" - I'm not the kind to jump - I'll do it from inside. I'll smile with satisfaction... and well, I don't think I'd go to R/Hr forums and rub in their faces, but I'd certainly be curious to see how they react... ("But I'd thought JKR had said that...")

i will jump up and down shouting 'i knew it', wear a wide grin on my face the whole day (and whole month/year/forever lol), be excited but not go to the r/hr ship sites and rub it in their faces (this is wat i voted for coz i dun like what some r/hr shippers are doing on h/hr sites' tagboards now, and i won't want to do it in return.. the feeling isn't good hehe... i hate ship bashing~). overall, i think if h/hr happen, it'll be enough to make the r/hr shippers 'see the light'...

If you're an avid H/Hr shipper I dont think it's possible to contain your're excitement. Oh dear I really hope I have a chance to scream with joy. If and when H/Hr get together I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of shouting "I knew it"

I would try my best to make today a holiday(for myself at least)...I'd call it OTP Day. On that day, I'd do my best to eat pumpkin pie...and I'll read fanfics all day...and I'll probebly make a song about it

. Oh! Oh! and I'll go to R/Hr sites and see if they'll keep shipping or not. It will be very very strong of people who ship other ships to keep shipping, and we (maybie) could even give a little salute to the ships that stand strong no matter how mangeled their ships are. But nonetheless...I'll be a happy and worry-free little nut.

I would probably squeal out of delight and then reread the passage over and over again, before moving on. I would also talk about it with my fellow HP friends and then wear a wide grin on my face the entire day or possibly week until the feeling wore off.
I wouldn't rub it in R/HR shippers faces, because I don't visit their sites and I could seriously care less.

Cuuuuuute, Nelli! That was really fun to read,

While I agree with you wholeheartedly, that I'll be excited but not rub it in R/Hrs faces, I chose the first one. It's because that's the first thing I will do. I will then wear a grin all day, then see how the R/Hrs are taking it. I like some R/Hrs, so I will be consoling them. But I don't think they are likely to want to see me yet. I mean, if R/Hr happened, I wouldn't want to talk to any R/Hr at all. No matter how nice any shipper is,
no one will be able to stop talking about the new canon ship. I wouldn't want the nice R/Hrs to feel bad (or worse )

I voted for "wear a wide grin all day". I will probably also come here to check out the celebrations going on. I would be tempted to rub it in the R/Hr's faces, particularly the ones who've been so smug in their certainty, but I will refrain. (I can't promise I won't gloat internally, however.

Personally, since I am soo mean, I'd rub it in my friend's (R/Hr shipper/H/G shipper) face. She's been taunting my H/Hrness for /quite/ a while now. And I'd go rub it in my friend's sister's face, because I said so. Heh, I'm evil.

For me, it's a combination of options 1 and 3. I'm not sure if I'd rub in any of my R/Hr friends, but if I did, I'd like to think I wouldn't go too overboard. And I would probably read it over and over again.

Hehe..well first I would give a loud shriek. Then I would start jumping up and down in happiness.. After I would re-read the passage over and over just to make sure it was real.. The grin would be plastered to my face for I'd say a few weeks..

My reaction to getting the release date for HBP consisted of the shriek, jumping up and down, and the grin for the whole day..so you could just imagine my reaction when/if H/Hr happens. I wouldn't rub it in any R/Hr shippers' face though..I'm not that type of person..

I would sing "Brand New Day" from "The Wiz" and then celebrate with the rest of you guys for about a week. I couldn't be that mean and rub it in the R/Hrs faces even though I would want to. I couple of them that I know will be hopping mad at our victory. Just think we'd have three things to celebrate-the end of the series(sad but true) defeating Voldemort (Halelueha!) and most importantly for us-Harry and Hermione finally getting together as all good fairytales end. So it's no question of what a perfect day it would be for all of us.

I voted for "Jump up and down" because that's what I would do first.
Then I would get a big, stupid grin on my face and dash into my kitchen to make my yummy pumpkin cake--which is so easy to make that even Hagrid could manage it--and I'd attempt to eat the whole thing while browsing the R/Hr sites, just to see how many people were jumping ship. I wouldn't post, though. That's just mean.

Off topic, but my I haven't posted in a while. I just couldn't resist this though.
If that ended up happening in the book, I can already probably give you a play by play of what I would do.
First, jump up off the couch screaming at the top of my lungs, have both my parents run up the stairs and wonder what I've broken/injured this time, and phone my sister to see if she'd gotten there yet (she's an adament H/Hr'r as well).
Second, hang up the phone and scream some more, possibly running out into the streets and celebrating with random people, which is not a good thing as most of the people in my neighbourhood are over fifty.
Third, phone up my friend who has been mocking me for years about shipping H/Hr and scream in her ear (that would be the extent of my R/Hr taunting)
Fourth, highlight the passage, scream more after reading it again.
Fifth, go out, buy another copy of the book, and tear out those pages and get them framed.
Sixth, log onto Portkey and join in the massive Pumpkin-fest going on.
After that, I'd probably continue to squee for a solid week or two, and be wearing that grin for probably the rest of my life.
Oh, how I do wish that comes soon!

Hi!
Well, I voted for Jump up and down shouting "I knew it" because this will be my first reaction. And propably I will be running to may parents and srceaming "They are together! They are finally together!" And my parents, who now think I'm mental, will propably consider locking me in some hospital. But hey! at least H/Hr will be together.
And I won't go to R/Hr shippers sites and rub it in their faces. But for definatley I will looking for their opinion on this. And hopefully I will be able to expalin them why H/Hr must be together and where are those all clues that H/Hr shippers have seen and R/Hr shippers haven't.
Finally I will be wearing a wide grin but not all day. I will be wearing it all weeks, months, years... I think even forever.
Cheers,
Mycha
P.S.
And as an afterthought, I will propably do this:

I was one of the few who voted for the "stay calm" option, but that's just because I'm a "calm kind of guy". Inside, I would be excited, and I'm sure I'd end up with a wide grin from time to time, but I personally am so sure this is what WILL happen in canon (if JKR is as good of a writer as I think she is

) that it won't be a big surprise when I read about it.
Having said that, I know that I will be tempted on July 16 to skip to the last chapter of HBP and see where things are going. (*BAD BOY, don't EVEN give in to that

) If, after reading HBP, the issue is still not resolved officially, it will be VERY hard, when book 7 comes out, to NOT read the epilogue first. (*but, of course, I'd never do that...

)

Mod Note: I have removed a few recent posts that discussed "getting revenge" on R/Hr Shippers. I'm sorry, but that is just not on as that is not what Portkey is about. We're here to enjoy being H/Hr Shippers, not conspire against Non-H/Hr Shippers because "they made it personal" and not all Non-H/Hr Shippers are like that.
Furthermore, I have removed the option "Go to R/Hr shippers sites and rub it in their faces." from the poll which had 14 votes when I removed it. Ordinarily I would have left the poll alone and trusted Members to keep the discussion fun, and up to now Members had discussed even visiting R/Hr sites cordially. However the last few posts that were removed showed that removing that poll option was the safer course.

First I would be absolutely speechless. Then I would start screaming at the top of my lungs crying my eyes out, not caring who hears I would be so happy. I would read the passage over and over and over again, demand my parents let me on the computer (my parents are really controlling and won't let me know my own password) and talk to my long distance H/Hr pal, Sandie. Our convo would look something like this:
Me: SAAANNDDDIIIIEEEE!!!!! OOOOOMMMGGGGG!!!!!
Sandie: I KNOOOWW!!!!! AAAAHH!!!!
Me: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!! JKHASTGFDUHASGFLJAKSF *screams for joy*

I think we should organize an official Portkey Pumpkin Pie party and name it after the passage where it happens.

Hopefully, JK will be kind enough to put the two together at the end of the book because I will be very hyper after reading it and won't be able to read the rest of the book for a very long time.

If I have a laptop over the summer, I will get on and celebrate with you guys here and check out the reaction in other places. Well, I'm a quiet person, so I'll go with "stay calm and be glad about it", while I do a mad, happy dance in my head!
However, I would also give a consoling pat on the back, and a cold bottle of butterbeer, to a certain person named "Angua", who I'm sure will be devastated, dismayed and disbelieving, and say to her, "Well, hon, we
did tell you so, y'know ..."

EDIT:
Read all the other posts after I voted and posted, and I guess the enthusiasm of the Portkey-ers is truly infectious ...
Well, I guess I'd punch my fist into the air, yell "HOO-YAHHHH!!!", and then take a deep breath and calm down and do the happy dance in my head, before my mom thinks that I've totally gone bonkers!
And oh yes, I'd pass around bottles of firewhisky and (well, if I could) glasses of ice-cold Moet champagne to everyone on Portkey!
