...and the really sad thing is I didn't realize I’d found it until I was waaay into the story.
Anyway, I found a fic food, and it is....
(Drumroll please)
Peaches!
From the fic Oceanai Eterne, which is on fanfiction.net, by Silverspinner.
It's a L/J story (obviously) and she so seamlessly blends the fic-food into the story that I didn't even notice it the first time! (She does it more than once)
The first time, is in Chapter Four, Musings of a Peach. The section with the peach is found 4 sections up from the bottom. It begins with “James finally managed to break away from...” and ends with “James began to wonder if this was the same girl who’d once yelled at him for being a stupid prat.”
Lily and James are sitting by the lakeside, underneath a peach tree, having a heart-to-heart. Lilly picks two peaches, and gives one to him. They finish their peaches, play with a snake, discuss the meaning of life, and almost kiss.

The second time (that I can find, there’s probably more, but I wasn’t looking for them until now), is in Chapter Eleven, Every Breath. The section with the peach is found three sections up. It starts with “It was post-Quidditch practice, post-pep-talk and...” and ends with “Come on, Lily. Come back...”
You’re going to have to read it to find out the background, because I don’t want to give spoilers, because it is such a good fic. But here is a quote:

Anyway, I need to check whether or not peaches have been taken, but I hope they aren’t.
Well, the H.M.S. Peaches and Cream is taken (for no good reason, mind you :-\) by the George/Alicia ship on Fiction Alley, but if we’re not peaches and cream, should be no problem, I think.
Anyway, there we go. We have one fic-food. Peaches. Oceanai Eterne isn’t such a well known fic, but it’s well-written, so I figured I might as well throw it out there. Anyone else find any fic foods?

i like it but i also was partial to the cookies...but if everyone else likes the peaches idea, i say forge ahead, i'm all for it! lol, i can learn to like peaches...

Maybe they could be Peach- and Strawberry- flavoured Cookies? Then everyone would be happy, lol!
Still, if anyone can find any other fic-food or any fics with the foods that are currently in the poll, please share! (I'm sure there's a cookie-eating fic out there somewhere! and a strawberry-eating one too! Or maybe a strawberry cookie fic! ok, ok, shutting up)

I was thinking (this may have been suggested before), maybe we could hold a fic-food fic-writing contest, and the winner of the contest gets their fic-food as the official? Just a thought. I don't know how it would work, or if it would work.

Chee welldone on finding a fic with a food in it. Peaches sounds cool. You sure do have a lot of random thoughts. Peach cookies wouldn't be a bad idea.
The fic food fic writing contests has been suggested but I'd rather we not because I think it would ruin the story to do it because the motive is the food not the LJ relationship. That's my thoughts on it but if everyone else wants to do it then by all means go for it.

You've got a good point there. I didn't think of that. (Actually, I don't think I was thinking much at all when I wrote that . . . ) I definately see why fic food contest fics would be unsavory . . . no pun intented . . . with the fact that it'd mbe more about the food than the L/J, but I think I'm repeating you now.

I think it should be Chocolate Cake because of the cookie called chocolate cake in the cookie/ficlet forum.
