One couple that H/HR remind me of is Buffy/Xander from BTVS. Buffy and Harry have that whole chosen, not able to choose thing going for them; and Xander and Hermione are the two most loyal characters I've seen.

Yeah a buffy comparison,I'm going to say i think of HHR when i watch Buffy and Spike the fact that they are growing and becoming more accustom to one another, plus its so beauitful what they do for each other and the ending really showed the how and why spike changed for buffy.

To Lorie_Strode: You're right about Buffy/Xander in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I saw them very well together, although I was as well a Buffy/Angel shipper (though I don't want to compare Buffy/Angel to H/Hr).
About the character of Angel, there's a situation who reminds me of H/Hr in Angel's own series. In Season 3, there are growing feelings of love between Angel and his long time assistant and friend Cordelia, that reminds me a lot of certain things I've read about H/Hr. At first and during almost all the seasons, everybody talk to them about how much they love each other, and both Angel and Cordelia protest that they are just friends, just as Harry and Hermione do all the time; Angel and Cordelia's feeling are there but unconscious and it take time to them to realise what they really feel for each other. Cordelia even dates a guy, and he leaves her because she's constantly talking about Angel, worrying about Angel and obviously thinking about Angel. Finally in the last episode they really understand what's going on... My comparison, I hope, stops there, because in a series written by Joss Whedon (like "Angel"), whenever two people are about to be happy together, very bad things happen, and that was the case for Angel and Cordelia. So I hope better for Harry/Hermione.

Ive not seen the Angel/Cordelia ship but i know it exists because a large number of fans wanted it to happen so...it did!!!
But ive always thought A/C would be cute, and fun to watch,Especially with Wesley lurking around,It would bring back past feelings for her.

Mulder and Skully scream H/Hr to me, too. The whole time I've watched them try to reveal to truth, I've been shipping them endlessly. I simply LOVED the episode where they had to pretend to be married and live in a creepily neat and ordered neighbourhood. But of course, they had a baby and everything, so that's really nothing. It was funny, though

I played FF7 once, and I completely fell in love with it. While I agree that Tifa and Cloud would have been a great H/Hr substitute, I shipped Cloud and Aries. I was ever so crushed when she died. I really felt like crying my eyes out, all my hope of her and Cloud getting together had been taken away from me just like that! I was about 11 years old. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I loved FF7 nearly as much as I love HP, and I still shipped Cloud/Aries. A perfect example of H/Hr was staring at me right in the face, but I didn't ship it. See, even though we have loads of characters that remind us of H/Hr, our main ship is still H/Hr, isn't it? [unless I am mistaken] Besides, you don't see us making "Couples that remind you of Mulder/Skully" threads, do you? ^.^ ['course, that could be because we are in a very H/Hr environment,

Yeah, I'll shut up now.

Harry / Hermione have always reminded me of Mulder and Scully. ::sigh:: What a great ship that was

, although I'm still completely unforgiving of Chris Carter interference!
Btw, the episode you mention is called "Arcadia." I loved Mulder's line, "Wanna make that honeymoon video, now?"

Mulder and Scully. Ooh, their dynamic was amazing.
How Mulder/Scully relate to Harry/Hermione:
- Best friends.
- M/S took 7 seasons to get together - result being William.
[H/H will most likely get together in book 7.]
- Scully always had unwavering faith in Mulder.
- Mulder always had the tendency to run around half-cocked.
- Scully looked at dealing with certain situations with a logical mind.
- Mulder would deal with things through his emotions.
- Scully always knew how to read Mulder's body language.
- Mulder had a lonely childhood. He also lost a family member (sister).
- Scully was never afraid to tell Mulder when he was acting irrational and stupid.
- Mulder would give her
looks.
- Scully also tried to give Mulder another viewpoint on things.
- Mulder most times would ignore her viewpoint only in the end having to admit she was right.
- Scully was distrustful with Diana Fowley (Cho), with good reasons.
- Mulder was blind when it came to DF.
Okay, said too much.
Bye-bye

Bravo to all of those who said Mulder and Scully! They're the first couple(and only one) that comes in my mind when I think of Harry and Hermione.
They were both so close. At first she was nagging him - and he was driving her crazy with his crazy ideas and his temperament.
But then they grew together. First as friends, then as confidents, then as something undefinable only by the term of 'friendship'. It was more than that. They had an understanding. A deepest of connections. They were soulmates.
Little William is the product of their love.
Shame that she gave him away... *sobs*
One of my most favourite X-Files scene ever goes like this:
(She puts her arms around his shoulders and they hold each other.)
MULDER: Scully, I was like you once-- I didn't know who to trust. Then I... I chose another path... another life, another fate, where I found my sister. The end of my world was unrecognizable and upside down. There was one thing that remained the same.
(He holds her face and gazes at her.)
MULDER: You... were my friend, and you told me the truth. Even when the world was falling apart, you were my constant... my touchstone.
SCULLY: And you are mine.
(They move their faces close together ... and SCULLY kisses him on the forehead. Not a peck. A very nice, sweet, long kiss. They pull slightly apart, still touching. SCULLY puts his ball cap back on his head and cups his face in her hands. They look at each other with every bit of trust, friendship, respect, love, and whatever else these two have for each other. Then she touches his lips gently with her fingers and leaves. MULDER stands in the doorway and closes his eyes.) Can you feel the love??

Inside the XYES loads of you See hhr with Mulder and Scully.

The movie was on last night on ITV2,and i had to stop surfing the web for about 5 minutes when the famous hallway scene started.

couples that remind me of Harry/Hermione...
mm..
Lizzie/Gordo- From Lizzie McGuire...Corey/Topanga! From Boy meets World
Clark/Chloe from Smallville ( I know...I know..I just think they're cute!! so cute! and best friends! )
mm...Ron/Kim from Kim Possible
Emphasis is mine. I know i used to love watching that series and then Gordy pining over Lizzy awww. What ever happened with those two,BBC2's "Smile" stopped showing the series, unless it was nearing the end of the series?!?!
I finally watched "Garden State" today and i was reminded of HHR with Andrew Largeman and Sam (Zach Braff and Natalie Portman),when he said he felt safe when he is with her,and when he said that he needed her and she needed him made me think "awwww its HHR,in book 7".
Belle and beast (from beauty and the beast) shows hints of hhr, belle being clever and a book lover, going back to help the beast when gaston the jealous jerk heads off the castle to kill beast coz he realises she has feelings for beast. Beast wanting to change, going to save her form the wolves, getting injured in the process.
